I like this pizza. It isn't quite as good as the original location on 7th st in St. Paul, but its close enough. Not everyone will love it, the red sauce has a very strong tangy/salty taste. Its right up my alley. Prices are a little higher than you would expect from a chain store but if you want just a slice show up for lunch. You can get a large one top pie for under $10 after tax right now during their "pizza happy hour" which is from 2-5pm. Can't beat that anywhere. When I have a pizza craving this is where I turn. Just ordered a large house special at Red Savoys in Eagan and a nice girl delivered it in 45 minutes. What a disappointment to open the box to find a completely charred pizza in the box! Try to call the store to discuss the issue and no one will answer even though it is before closing time-the call transfers to a mailbox that is full! The pizza is pretty decent at this location, but it's the customer service that really earns this place a 5 star review. I've gone in 4 times now and each time has been fantastic. One of my visits was an evening when it was SUPER busy. You could tell that the staff was a bit overwhelmed but they still provided excellent, friendly service despite orders coming in like crazy. Another night, it was slow, but somehow my pizza got stuck in the oven and they had to remake it. They remade it quickly and offered me a soda as an apology for the wait. read more

We had such an amazing experience with Red Savoy tonight at the Eagan location. We always love their pizza, and tonight the new driver couldn't find our house right away and ended up being late. The store called to let us know the issue and that they were helping to direct him. When he arrived he was so nice and apologetic and we understood and told him it was completely fine. Later another Red Savoy employee had another delivery in our neighborhood so he stopped by with another apology and some coupons! So above and beyond. Yes, this place has great pizza. Some of the best in MN. But, I worry that their business may suffer due to the cringe-worthy customer service. Don't let that steer you from Red's...so here's what to expect once you walk in the door: Cashier: gives a blank stare as you walk in. You: "Hello." Cashier: blank stare You: "I have a pizza to pick up for Kim" Cashier: "$17.25" (You hand over a card, he rings you up silently, then places the pizza on the counter) You: "Thank you." In from NY for the Twin Cities Marathon. I ordered online for a pickup at 5. I arrived at 5:02 and they had no idea about my order even though it was in the computer. They offered me a large instead of regular for inconvenience but since I was only staying the night I didn't need that much so I declined politely. I wasn't really worried about the time needed to cook it although why have an online system if it doesn't work? All would have been fine except somehow the rushed pizza came out burnt. Not cool after the other issue. Anyway, the part that wasn't burnt was good. A good amount of cheese and a little kick to the sauce. We were craving pizza in our new apartment so we decided to try Savoy for the first time. We ordered a savoy special with sauerkraut (odd) Hawaiian pizza and buffalo wings. The delivery man was so awesomely friendly and the food was piping hot and delicious! Even the sauerkraut on pizza was a pleasant treat. The pizza at Red's Savoy in Eagan is really so-so. It may be the water used to make the crust, but it tends to sometimes even taste soapy. This place excels at the jalapeno poppers! They use the same cheese found at the State Fairs "cheese on a stick" instead of traditional cream cheese. And man it makes the difference! I used to work nearby and distinctly remember the delivery man coming by 8 times in one afternoon with only jalapeno poppers in his hands! After an hour I called to see where our pizza was and manager apologized and said driver just left and offered it at half price. Driver Chris showed up and was totally rude after I didn't tip him more then the change. Said really no tip? I said we have been waiting 1 1/2 hrs he said no you haven't. I said we ordered at 9:15 and looked at clock it was 10:30. Sorry technically 1 1/4 hrs. I said I was told 35 minutes. He stood there and called me a liar! Seriously! I ordered a gluten-free pizza with sausage and onion, as well as a gluten-free cherry streusel dessert pizza. The gluten-free pizza was the first full-size pizza, at 14", that I've ever seen available at any pizza place. That tells me they are not using a frozen Udi's crust, unlike Green Mill, Domino's, Davanni's, etc. The only other place that makes their own crust is Pizza Luce. Theirs is a regular crust, not thin crust, as it is at Red's Savoy. I prefer Red's. The pizza arrived in a reasonable amount of time, the delivery guy was friendly, and everything was hot when it arrived. The pizza was great, not too greasy, not too salty, not too garlic-y, plenty of flavor. The crust tasted just like regular thin crust pizza crust, and was crunchy, although a tiny bit rubbery. This is to be expected without gluten in the recipe, and was barely noticeable. The dessert pizza was great as well. I haven't had streusel since I stopped eating gluten in 2009, so it was nice to have it again. read more

If you're heading home from work down 35W, stop at the Savoy Pizza in Burnsville, Nicollet and Hwy. 13. It is a big jump up from Eagan, and practically as magical as the St. Paul 7th Street location. Newport also edges out the Eagan location, but just barely. Savoy Pizza tastes the way pizza is supposed to. Terrific thin crust, not cardboard. Lots of goodies spread on it, but not an Italian Pie. Just plain GOOD! If I'm going to use up a month's worth of carbs in one night for pizza, it's going to be Savoy. read more

Huge fan of the original St. Paul location. Heard from friends that franchise locations weren't as good. Based on past experience at St. Paul, and the delicious looking TV ads for the new Stillwater/Hudson(?) locations, I ordered take out from Eagan. I added a star because I ventured out of my Sausage/Pepperoni comfort zone and ordered a "Meat Lover". Maybe Hamburger and Canadian Bacon aren't for me. Not their fault. At $20, it was simply not worth it. Sauce tasted odd. Although bland, the hamburger overpowered the other meats. Had it been a $10 Pizza Hut or $5 Lil Caesar, I would have thought "Whaddaya expect". Very good pizza. The boneless buffalo wings are the best in Eagan. If someone else has better let me know. However, sometimes when you call an order in they can be very rude. I went to call in an order tonight and the guy was so rude I just hung up and now I'm ordering from Green Mill instead where I know they have good pizza and service. Their pizza is the best in the twin cities. I grew up on Carbone's but unless you go to the original in St Paul Park, it seems their sauces are different. Probably not, but it just tastes different elsewhere. Now for Savoy, their pizza has always been the best. Their delivery is fast, friendly, and the prices are reasonable. If new to the twin cities and you like the square cut, get the Savoy Special. The sauce is awesome and the ingredients are fresh. No other pizza comes close. read more
