I know how great Carbones Pizza can be, but I had never had the pizza from the Edina location. Sorry to say, it was a big disappointment. The cheese on top was so over-baked, not hot & gooey; instead it was very brown and crisp. It could have been so much better. Thanks for asking. read more

We ordered takeout from this joint. We ordered 3 pizzas (1 deep pan pizza with pickles, 1 thin special and 1 thin meat lovers). In terms of the pizza, it was great! Also, pickle pizza is delicious! I think it would have been better on a thin crust (we learned). The flavors were great and the pizza was super filling! In terms of service, they fell a little short. I ordered online and the order was not ready when I arrived (a few mins after the estimated pickup). None of the staff was wearing masks, which was a little concerning. I opted to stand outside to wait and ended up waiting another 10 minutes before my order was ready (well after the estimated time). Would I give them another shot, yeah absolutely! read more

I ordered a meat lovers large pizza and when we got home it was very gamy tasting or rancid. I thought it was just me but then another person said it tasted weird. Needless to say we order from here often but usually we get pepperoni, sausage, onion mushroom. Which is very great and this time it was a Huge disappointment. I called and spoke to the manager and I explained but he kind of dismissed it and said he had eaten bacon today and told me it was fresh today. No offer to accommodate or refund or anything. We can't put our finger on it but it is not good. Very disappointed and hungry lol We all got very sick, only one person who did not eat was not harmed. Ordered from DoorDash last night and received the saddest sandwich I have ever seen. There was one - let me emphasize, ONE - slice of turkey on each half of my sandwich. A dash of lettuce and onion, a smidgen of mayo. Where are the ingredients? I was shocked and saddened by this, as I've been eating at Carbone's since I was a kid and have always loved their sandwiches. They've always been big, packed with toppings and flavor, hot with crisp bread. This was the exact opposite. The bread was doughy and chewy. There were barely any toppings. My boyfriend's sandwich was the same way. I ordered a whole turkey hoagie without tomato, he ordered the salami hoagie. I am so disappointed. The little flavor I could taste was bland. I am so disheartened to have received such poor quality food from a restaurant I have always loved and trusted. It could be specific to this location, as it's the first time I've gotten food from the Edina Carbone's. I will not be eating at this location again. read more

I am very pleased with the customer service of Carbone's on 50th. I had an issue with my online order (my fault) and they went far beyond their call to get it straighten out. We ordered takeout and was quoted 45 minutes for the wait time. I was pretty pleased since I know take out pizza gets backed up on the weekends. I wanted the pizza to be good but I was a little disappointed. Along with the other reviews the pizza was a little soggy in the middle. The edges has a nice crisp but the middle just flopped. We tried to put it in the oven when we got home to crisp it up but didn't work as well as intended. We ordered the Buffalo chicken and pepperoni both in thin crust. They had nice flavors but the toppings were sloppy. They slipped off the pizza, not sure if it was the crust or what was causing that. Hopefully I just had a bad experience and other people like it. read more

Ive eaten here a few times, and I can see some of the drivers get a little too comfy with their convos. My first visit, it was pretty busy, yet it was a Friday so it was understandable. A driver there came in to grab some pizzas, then make a remark about how masking and vaccines will "kill you.". My last visit, a man came in and made a homophobic joke, in which some of the employees laughed at. They are too comfy with political and social beliefs and seem to be non-supportive of certain things, which makes me quite uncomfortable. The food is good, but these people obviously break many business rules with their convos they willingly have with customers present. Says a lot. read more

If your looking for good pizza, you might want to skip this location. Had a friend pick up pizza and pizza fries her way over. We love Carbone's but rarely get it. The Edina location was on her way, and since we'd never been there before we decided to give it a shot. The pizza was well done on top yet soggy and limp on the bottom. The crust was so thin it just flopped limp and hung there when you grabbed a piece. I know it's supposed to be thin crust, but this was paper thin. Even the pizza fries were thin and limp, though they were white on top and the bottom, not brown at all on top. I wonder if the oven is not working properly or something. The toppings on the pizza were sparse too, a two topping should have quite a bit more on it than it. I know Carbone's pizza, it's one of the best, maybe THE best. Been eating at the original 7th st Saint Paul location since I was a wee babe. This was a poor excuse for pizza and I likely will not be going there again. I usually like to give places a second chance, but I order Carbone's so rarely that I'd hate to waste another visit on pizza that isn't very good. read more

They make a great sausage thin crust. Only ever had it for delivery at lunchtime, but it's always a great pizza. Only wish it was hotter when it arrives. I get delivery inherently cools off your food, but room temperature pizza isn't as phenomenal as hot pizza. I guess I'll have to deal with my first world problem by heating it up after it arrives. read more

I went to this place because my girlfriend highly recommended the hot Hoagies sandwiches. When first looking at it, there was no meat in the salami hoagie. There was very little of anything. And when you took a bite it tasted like unprocessed dough for breading. It was a disappointing experience for a place that came highly recommended. read more

We ordered online for the Vikings/Packer game this past Monday, boy did the Vikings suck. Anyway I digress... I just love this pizza, it's the sauce and the cheese and the thin crust is excellent. We had two larges with one topping and had a nice little coupon to go with it. Delivery was a few minutes late but who cares. Just a solid no frills pizza that I will come back for. When ordering pizza from the Edina Carbones you can always expect 2 things , 1) Very good pizza 2) a serious lack of customer service skills . The person who answers the phone typically seems bothered by your call and when I pick up my pizza the person at the front will never greet you with a smile or a hello much less a thank you when exiting the store , I'm not sure I will be back . read more

We've been ordering from Carbone's on 50th Street for almost 10 years. The wings are great. The antipasto salad is great. The thin crust pizza is crisp but not burnt. We love the place. We just arrived hungry to Edina. My wife ordered a taco pizza 10". The flavor wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. 1 sour cream for a whole pizza???? That lasted for 4 slices only because they are small. Chips not crunchy. I'm sure the chips were getting soft in a humid pizza box while in delivery mode. So I will give them a break on that. On an 18.00 pizza 2-3 sour creams would have been a closer estimate. The pizza wouldn't hold together at all. Each piece came apart at the 1/2 piece mark. Ingredients seemed fresh so credit for that, but way overpriced for small 10 "., that was only ok. Good thing there are lots of other pizzas in the city. Just mediocre. I'm happy to pay good $$ for great pizza! I would say the delivery guy was a + experience. Well we were clearly tired, hungry so I'm gonna try one more time and will give an update after. read more

Finally tried Carbone's Pizza this weekend, after having lived nearby for a year & a half. Their signage & storefront never lured me in as they blend in with the Verizon location they are next to. Fortunately i was pleasantly surprised - their pizza is delightful- the thin crust pepperoni was packed with flavor & the crust was some of the tastiest i've tried. We tried this place because of a coupon and I was surprised by how good the pizza was. I had eaten at other Carbone's pizzeria places years ago and somehow developed an unfavorable opinion about their pizza, mostly viewing it as a soggy mush. This a review of their spaghetti with meat balll sand gyro sandwich. Not their pizza which I think is one of the best in town. Their gyro meat wasn't that great not much flavor and looked like pre sliced deli meat. But the cucumber sauce was pretty good wouldn't let me spell the correct name. Ordered a large pizza near their closing time. Online ordering was a breeze and fast. Quoted me 45 minutes and arrived sooner. Pizza was perfect Carbones : square slices, cheesy and greasy. Terrible service. 10-15 minutes to get one pop and one glass of wine, 45 more minutes to bring out one of the two orders which was wrong, then we were brought out both orders and both were wrong again and stated they didn't have what we originally ordered. Why did it take an hour to tell us they didn't have what we wanted? We ordered hoagies straight from the menu so it's not like we had some ridiculous order. There was no accommodation and no compassion. Stopped in late in the afternoon. it's the Carbone's pizza I remember from my college years. Sausage was prepped just for my pizza, sauce is as good as it gets, crust was perfect - crispy on the bottom, nicely chewy, and blending well with the toppings. Best pizza I have had in years. I know that there are 35 locations in the Twin Cities and some people like this pizza but not my family. Both times we have order there the crust has tasted like cardboard. We had to search for the pepperoni on a single-topping pizza! Flat. Tasteless. Underwhelming to say the least. Most of the frozen pizzas I've had are better and at 40% the price. Not EVER going back. We ordered 2 pizza from this establishment during lunch. When they delivered the pizza's one of them was incorrect. We called right away and the lady (Susan) stated that it must have gotten mixed up with another pizza within our organization. She said the pizza is in your building. She took my order # and said she was so busy she would have to call back and hung up. We did find our pizza, another group ordered a pizza and obviously got the wrong pizza. By the time the pizza's were switched our pizza was very cold. When i called back she explained to me that there was nothing she could do until her boss came back and that he was out delivering an $800 order to the Minnesota Vikings. She was clearly making it sound as if the Minnesota Vikings order was far more important than our order. She again said i am sorry but i am too busy and hung up. We will never order from this place again. Not only did they mess up our order and refuse to rectify the situation, the food itself was nasty. Needless to say we did not eat much of the pizza's due to how cold they were. This is the worst Carbone'ss i have ever eaten before. We will not be ordering from this place ever again. What a joke - just ordered two large pizzas that had been completely turned over. Called immediately to report. Both pizzas were completely sideways so we sort of pushed the pieces back together. They agreed to replace the cheeseburger pizza that had sustained most of the damage. When the driver arrived, he wanted the other pizza - we were astonished as it seemed he was most concerned with identifying a scam rather than delivering a pizza that was intact. We have ordered pizza here several times, and the pizza is good tasting, but never again. Don't worry Edina Carbone's you won't have to deal with a "hassle" from us again. read more

I have been a Carbone's customer since the early 80's. Last week I ordered a deep dish pizza and cheese pizza fries for my family. What I received was a black burnt deep dish pizza and a burned piece of "card board". My four children deemed this food inedible and preferred Kirkland frozen pizza. What a disappointment! read more

Pizza Delivery -- two simple words and a really simple concept. When it comes to Pizza, this place rocks it with great and delicious pizzas. When it comes to Delivery, this is the WORST restaurant ever. In the last 2 months we have ordered pizza from Carbone's four times, and it actually delivered (wait for it)... ONCE! Three times the pizza never showed up. Tonight was the last time this will happen because we won't give them any more chances. Tonight they called back about 45 minutes after taking the order and said they would be unable to deliver until about 7... we called at 4:30pm. In fairness, it is Halloween tonight, and perhaps they were caught off guard that it fell on Oct. 31 this year.. yeah. The other two times the pizza just never showed up... called after an hour, "yep its out for delivery"... called again after 90 minutes, "what it didn't show up, let me call the driver and get back to you?" And when you order before 6pm and this is dinner for the family... you get pretty ticked when your 7 and 9 year old are starving, and you realize by almost 8pm that you have to come up with a Plan B for dinner because the place you paid, and took your money, to deliver a pizza-- just never got around to it. And reading the other reviews, clearly my experience is not unique. So a note to Carbones Franchise Ops-- yank their damn owner's franchise and let someone who gives a crap about your brand run the joint to at lease a minimal expectation-- really shouldn't be that hard. Oh yeah, and put a central customer service number on your website so you can read feedback sent to you directly, versus on social media. read more

I've been eating Carbone's since I was a kid so when I order it there are a lot of happy memories. The 50th and France location has really good lunch specials but it is take out/delivery only so no sit-down restaurant like the one on Cedar. The pizza, salads, cheesebread, sandwiches and calzones are all really good especially the veggie ones. I'm not sure why someone said it took awhile to get a glass of wine because this location doesn't serve wine so that doesn't make sense. read more
