Really cute lil diner Best darn chicken livers in almost anywhere We drove 75 miles just to have a plate full. The mashed potatoes are homemade and quite the way to round out the meal. You can't beat the food cooked to order! Friendly wait staff. Famous Chef Salads with either pulled Ham or Chicken with their House dressing! Large proportions and reasonable prices! You can order anything on the menu at any time of the day! I have been a customer here since I can remember! My dad would often take me out to eat there for a Pizzaburger or a Bacon Cheeseburger and fresh cut fries. Quantity and quality is always experienced with every order and if you dine in the back, the walls are covered in Coca Cola memorabilia and the front of the restaurant allows for you the customer to experience watching them cook your order on their flat grill that makes everything taste better! Cleanenss is not that great here. If anything it could be a little scary. I loved how they had it decorated. It was a little dated and worn. But it was still neet. I really didn't enjoy what i ordered. The prices on value were overall affordable. If i come back it would be on value. Service was average. Nothing bad to say about it. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! We didn't even make it passed the front counter. At first glance you could tell it was a greasy spoon type restaurant--don't get me wrong--I've eaten in my share and they are usually GREAT!! This place looked disgustingly dirty. And as soon as we walked in, the guy behind the counter pointed to our masks--and said "you don't need them in here!" Looking around, not one of the employees had a mask on. REALLY?!?!?! Truly awful food. Everything looks like it came out of 40 year old cans that were cheap even back then. Their gravy resembles vomit in texture and appearance. The chicken was shredded, and came with whatever goo was in the can it came from. I sent back the chicken and waffles, and asked for a burger instead. Naively I thought "how could they screw up a burger?" I was shown how. The buns were probably the cheapest they could find from whatever gas station was closest, the patty was cold (but still cooked, which means they cook em ahead of time), the ketchup was mostly water, and the tomato tried to choke me out. I had to stab it with a plastic spork so I could get away. read more

What can I say about this place. IT'S A TRUCK STOP. I got a hot dog and a burger. My high school lunch was little better then this. There was no chili for the dogs and burger was subpar compare to McDonald's burger. But I tried. Next time, I will get something home made instead of standard food. read more

While this is the epitome of the Greasy Spoon I cannot think of any meal that was not good. Their Hot sandwiches are some of the best around locally not to mention the gravy fries. Make me hungry just writing about it. The cons that hold this back from being one of the best in the area is the cleanliness. If the owners invest the money to clean up the decor they would probably see it returned three fold in business increase. The other thing that makes me cringe at times is the lack of pride of the staff. Wait staff's uniform and uniform cleanliness should be top priority. It would also be advisable for the cooks to stay out of the dinning area. While this applies to almost all restaurants the owners here should demand it or have a tougher appearance rules. read more

Appearance: Greasy spoon is the best way to describe the diner. Staff: Sometimes ok and sometimes aloof and oblivious to the fact that they are indeed there to wait tables. Food: I must preface this with the fact that I am not from Central Pa. Where I come from "pot pit" is actually a pie with chicken or another meat with gravy and various vegetables (hence the name). I warned that person that I went with that in CenPenn pot pie is different from what we are used to. What came out was an amalgamous mess of potatoes and some gelatinous substance that I assume was supposed to be the noodles and gravy. I ordered the big country breakfast which was good. The hash browns were greasy. In the past I have had chicken fingers and fries, they were ok. I have had cream chip beef on two separate occasions. The first time I ordered it it was good which warranted me to order it again. The second time it was overly salty. Don't expect much and you will be happy. read more

Going to Reds Diner its always aesthetically pleasing, but the food is garbage, either cold, you get the wrong order, or hair in your food. If you ask for the correct order it's followed by attitude. Red's is another Mifflin County legend. It's not terrible...but it's not exactly four star cuisine, either. The salads and "messes" are always amazing, though, especially their chef salads with house dressing. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends after the bars close. It's super greasy, though...so be extra prepared. read more

The dirty restaurant. Bathroom is disgusting so dirty. All the food is soaked in grease and I ask the waitress is the grease they are using old and she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders. I do believe only way they know how to cook is to fry in old grease. Will not go there again been to a lot of dinner 's but this is the worst one. I've been to Red's Diner occasionally for the past 25 years. Back in the day, Red's food was out of this world and the atmosphere was unparalleled. I just had a meal there about a week ago, and besides not being impressed, I was actually turned off. The staff is so unprofessional it's ridiculous. The kitchen staff was out front talking and flirting with the waitresses. The waitresses were constantly criticizing their boss and the rules they have to follow and weren't even trying to be quiet about it. Then came the food. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which has always been favorite meal there. The waffles tasted burnt, and the gravy made me wonder how many days it had been sitting in the kitchen prior to that day. Disgusting. Also, it was apparent that the staff very much disliked their jobs, so it wasn't surprising that most of them appeared to have slept in their uniforms. No pride whatsoever. The biggest turnoff of all was the owner. He kept flirting with the waitresses and hitting on them as though the customers customers weren't able to hear him. It's obvious that Red's is soon going to be bankrupt and the owner doesn't care, or else his actions would've been different. This is one diner I won't be going back to. read more
