Stopped here for dinner on our first night in Red River Gorge. We aren't the most BBQ-forward folks but choices were limited so we came here. Parking can be somewhat of a chore but we were able to snipe one at the end of a row at the top of the parking lots near the buildings. Ordered the pork belly skewers to start. Was worried at the size of them that they would be slimy but these were tender, and had a great char and crisp to them. For my entree I went with the brisket which comes with two sides - vinegar slaw and sweet potato. The brisket was good - sauce was standard. I thought the sweet potato was good, but the slaw was very bland and pedestrian. Very disappointing if I'm honest with everything else good. We took dessert home - I went with the bourbon peach cobbler. Holy hell the size of it was insane, and the side ice cream put on top and the sauce was very very good. Service was solid and would highly recommend trying this place.
A BBQ restaurant that is about a mile down a gravel road makes my mouth water the closer the GPS counts down to 0.0 miles. Perched high atop the hill, those diners sitting outside have an amazing view of the trees and the sky while seated comfortably in the shade. Servers are quick to come around and take your order.. mine being beef brisket, Mac and Beans (Mac and cheese with baked beans on top) vinegar slaw and squash. Also on special was asparagus on the late-May evening that I stopped in. I'm a beef brisket snob. I like it lean and well smoked without the need for heavy bbq sauces. My opinion is that the more sauce you have to use, the worse off the meat. Having traveled all over, including a heavy concentration in the south sampling beef brisket, I can attest to the deliciousness of Red Point's brisket. A nice mix of fat, the brisket was tender and juicy and I could cut it with my fork. The side of bbq sauce complimented it rather than overpowering it, which is what it should do. The Mac and cheese baked beans was something I have never seen on a menu before. Mac and cheese on the bottom and baked beans on top.. I'm a fan. I'm also a fan of the bacon on top of it! The squash was so/so.. a little overcooked to me and the balsamic didn't really do anything for me. I would have liked some garlic and onion seasoning on it instead. The vinegar slaw was also a bit of a miss for me, but no one has been able to beat a local place in Thorntown, Indiana's vinegar cole slaw for me. The most important item.. the beef brisket.. was a solid 9.5 for me. I'm sure if I'm in the area again, my mouth will start watering thinking about it!
Went on a Saturday night in April. Place was packed! Wait was only 20 minutes for a table. They have lots of seating inside & outside (covered patio). They have a separate bar where you can grab a drink and wait. On a crowded night the bathroom line can get long (only 2 stalls). The appetizers: pork belly skewers & curry hummus with pita chips were both amazing. Lots of flavor. For dinner we had the ribs, pulled pork, & blackened catfish (all with 2 sides). Loved them all and they were large portions. The sides were also excellent. Really enjoyed the sweet potato and broccoli salad. Entrees were $16-$22 with two sides. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.
What a food knockout! Redpoint BBQ is my new favorite Gorge food spot, and I didn't expect that going in. That's because EVERY food item is top-notch and gourmet! Huge portions, so order accordingly lol Ranking my food items, from best to least: 1) Baked sweet potato (best I've ever had) 2) Hot Chicken sandwich (add the brioche bun) 3) Broccoli salad (perfectly creamy) 4) Asparagus (perfectly grilled) 5) Rack of ribs (the only subpar item, was ok) Also commendable are the drink prices! Cocktails were $9 so that went a long way to our enjoyment. As for the place, there's plenty of parking and great outdoor seating in a relaxed peaceful nature area. I can't wait to come back!
Came for dinner on a Thursday night at 4:37pm and it was packed. I had read it got busy on weekends, but every outside table was taken and we got one of the last inside tables. People were parking along the drive in, but then we realized they did have overflow parking. Parking all together was a cluster. There is no information on how to order if you order at the counter, sit down, someone seats, you, etc., so that was confusing. We got a seat, a server came over and got our order. It was soooooo cold inside. We had to go get jackets. It took a really really really long time for our food to come out. The food was delicious for the most part. Pulled pork and bbq sauce was tasty as was the Mac and cheese. The Cole slaw was just meh. My husband liked his brisket and sweet potato. He didn't love his corn bread. It came with an herb better that taste like a cheddar bay biscuit. One person got the grilled chicken and didn't care for it. All in all, great food and good portion sizes. We also got charged for 2 kids drinks even though it said they were included on the menu so I'd like that $6 back. They don't give you a receipt so I had no way of knowing until after I paid.
Once you overcome the challenge getting parked, this place is on point for a lot of food options, including if you have gluten allergies. My lady friend loved her pulled pork, and I enjoyed my blackened catfish, but it would have been hotter. But let's talk about the real star of the show, the mac and beans, with a little glaze drizzled on top. Call it a signature side or just call it yummy! Friendly, casual vibe and attentive service. Needs better parking options.
I can say this was like a highlight meal of my trip - it was a random pick one night on the fly but so worth it!!!! We got it to go but plenty of seating and it seems like a first come first serve kinda place - we came at opening. If we had more time it would have been a wonderful place to dine in or out with so much space!
Got here at 345 on a Thursday to make sure we got outdoor seating. It wasn't nearly as packed as other reviews say. We got the curry hummus and pita chips. It was delicious. Had the old fashioned and honey bee for drinks. They were both great. For food we had the brisket with Mac n beans and sweet tater, hot chicken with broccoli salad and mac n cheese, and smoked wings. Literally everything was amazing. The brisket melted in our mouths, the hot chicken was perfectly seasoned and spicy, and the wings were tender and delicious. The original server we had was amazing, blonde woman, but a different server took over that wasn't as attentive (blonde but with several tattoos). All in all it's the best food in the gorge, by far the best bbq I've ever eaten, and I smoke a lot of food on my own. Gotta try it.
Some friends had recommended this place and we finally made it out to the gorge to try it. It definitely far exceeded my expectations. You don't often find a place like this in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. The food is amazing! Portion sizes are literally giant. We're pretty big eaters but could have totally shared a meal. Considering the size of the plates, it's a great deal too. I got the ribs. It was a full rack of ribs and I could eat about half. My husband got brisket and my parents got pulled pork. We all had different sides and they were all amazing. The ribs were my favorite, the pork was so tender and flavorful too. Brisket was good, but I would get the ribs again or the pork again next time. service was great too.
All the good was great!! One of the best food spots i've had period. The portions were very generous for the price. The peach cobbler is actually heaven. Service was excellent our waiter was very nice and very tentative. The ambiance is amazing, especially if you're sitting outside. Overall a great spot to steal at
The folks at our campground recommended this BBQ place. SO glad they did! They said you turn down a gravel road and it looks like you're in the middle of nowhere. They were right! We got there a little after they opened (4:30 - they open at 4pm). You can sit anywhere you like so we sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful view. Staff here is very friendly and attentive. If you need anything you can grab any one of the servers nearby and they're happy to help. The food - outstanding! And HUGE portions! I had the pulled pork and mac n beans. There was so much pulled pork that I ate it for 2 more days! The mac and beans... I wasn't sure about the combo (mac n cheese and baked beans) but wow! Delicious! My husband had the brisket. I think it's the best brisket we had in a very long time. Again - big portions and we had plenty of left overs. Definitely make a stop here if you're in the Red River Gorge Area!
We had a large group for lunch at Redpoint BBQ on Mother's Day, 5/10/2026. This place was amazing!!! We were quickly seated outdoors and the service was fantastic! The servers brought us ice water and iced tea in carafes for the table. I ordered the southwest chicken salad..... I don't even have words for how delicious it was! The spicy ranch dressing was the best. We also had the curry hummus, shrimp and grits, brisket, pulled pork, Nashville chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, asparagus, coleslaw. The portions were big and EVERYTHING was delicious! I'm already planning another 2 1/2 hour trip to have that salad again! I wish I took pictures of all of the food. Excellent job, RedPoint BBQ! We will be back!

This was by far one of the best bbq places I have ever been! Bring your appetite because the portions are massive! I got the ribs with baked beans and squash. I ended up taking over half my ribs with me and half my baked beans! The ribs were so tender that they just slide off the bones! And the baked beans had lots of crispy bacon in them and 2 types of beans. The squash was so good that I inhaled it! The place is very popular so there is quite a wait to get seated. However, the wait staff is very attentive. I loved the whole vibe of this place and the food! Next time I am in the Red River Gorge area I will make sure to stop here again! read more
Wow! How people found this place and pack it every night is amazing. It's up the hill, down a gravel road but don't fret. You're in the right place. Fantastic food, huge portions and very friendly service. We ordered the extra heavy blackened catfish and the full rack ribs. The catfish came out perfectly grilled with a ton of Cajun and the ribs were fantastic Lu seasoned and smoked. They had just a touch of sauce ( they bring you a cup of more sweet sauce.) All dinners come with 2 HUGE sides . They have their specialty cocktails and my lead the desserts are huge and delicious. They also have a sit down bar and a huge covered patio among with dining room. read more

One of our favorite places to go! Great atmosphere, great food, great portions, great prices! read more
After a long day of hiking, my husband and I were starving. Yelp reviews convinced me this was one of the best places around, so we weren't surprised when we arrived to a long wait. We grabbed a drink from the bar and about forty minutes later ,were shown to our table. We started with a piece of cornbread, which was served with scallion butter and pickled onions and cucumbers. It was delicious. For dinner my husband had the brisket, while I opted for the Nashville hot chicken. We both choose mac & cheese and baked beans for our sides. Everything was AMAZING! The baked beans were honestly the best we've ever had. The bbq at RedPoint was even better then Slow's (and if you're from the Detroit area, you know this is a huge compliment!) If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be back. Until then, I'm going to try to figure out how to replicate those beans! read more

I can't believe I took so long to eat here! We had family in town and went. The back patio is gorgeous and the staff were so friendly. Our group tried several cocktails, and all were delicious. The old fashioned and the spicy margaritas were a favorite. We had the apricot fried chicken and the rack of ribs. Incredible! My family has a multi-generation smoked ribs making talent, and I gotta say, these are legitimately some of the best ribs I've ever had. (Family loyalty won't let me say these were the best I've had ). Fall off the bone and so flavorful! Bonus was how enormous the rack was. We will 100% be back, and soon! read more

Service was ok, I give the brisket a 4 out of 5 only because a 1/4 of it was just fat like it hadn't been trimmed, all around a great experience food was great and the red point old fashioned was good. read more

Off the beaten path, RedPoint BBQ is in a great location with a scenic overlook. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and self-seating allowed us to sit in a great spot to see our surrounings. Our waitress was very polite and attentive, and immediately corrected a small issue with a cracked beer glass a member of our party was served. The restaurant offers regular cocktails as well as specialty, but they have a limited beer menu with only two domestics that we were familiar with. However, we did enjoy the one Kentucky beer they offered. In their appetizers, the pork belly kabobs were our absolute favorite and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a great sit-down with the family. The entrees each came with two sides, making the pricing worth it. The brisket was good, but did not have as much smokiness in its flavor that we would've liked. The hot chicken was my favorite in particular, especially with their homemade mac and cheese and coleslaw. I don't recommend the cornbread as it was pretty lackluster cake texture and didn't have much flavor that night. Although, the broccoli salad and baked potato are great choices as well. To end the meal, we got the peach cobbler which was enough for four of us to split considering the meal and appetizer. We ended up going here twice while spending time in KY. The service was just as consistent as well as the food, and we agreed it was the best dinner choice we made. We still don't recommend the cornbread, as the other side choices were excellent. This time, we ended our meal with the beignets and they were perfect. read more

I ordered the the chicken wings and house salad which was very delicious and only 16.00$ and my friends had the brisket meal that was so tenderly smoked and delicious for about 22.00 . If ever I'm in Campton again this is a place that I will definitely revisit. read more

Okay, I had been here 2 yrs prior and actually hated my food. August 31, this year, my family took me and my nephew for our birthdays. OMG - complete 360!! The food was Ah-May-Zing!!! I mean ABSOLUTELY!! I tasted a little of our parties entries and really liked each tasted. I got the chicken strip salad and it was HUGE!! And the chicken tenders on that salad were about the best I have ever eaten. I was completely in heaven. We got there a tad before the rush right around 5:00. I was initially disappointed with the restaurant selection for our celebration but am now oh-so-glad that is where we went. I now HIGHLY recommend read more

The brisket was solid for being where the restaurant is located. The baked beans were excellent to me. Solid smoke flavor and excellent blend of beans. The squash was grilled to perfection and seasoned well. The apple butter sauce complimented the brisket very well and raised the bar on the flavor to excellent. The pickled onions were an excellent accompaniment as well, could have used a few more of them. Highly recommend when you're in the area. read more

Definitely the most remote place I've ever eaten BBQ at!! You will feel like you are lost as you travel down the gravel road, but let me add, definitely worth the drive back the lane. A great find on our journey to the Gorge! It's secluded on a backroad, but has a very nice setup with amazing food. The portion sizes are HUGE!!! We could have split a plate, but wanted to try different sides. Now we have lots of leftovers! Yay! Their BBQ sauce was my favorite! Delish! We will stop back when we are hiking down here again. read more

Everything about this place is on point. The restaurant is composed of a nice open space and covered back patio that overlooks the forest. The people are kind, quick, and accurate in their service. Even with these positive points the food shines as the star. It was so good my husband and I came back twice in a row. In two meals our only critique was the brownie was slightly dry, but honestly still solid. Everything else we ordered was superb. On top of that it is very affordable. 100% recommend stopping here if you are traveling through Red River Gorge. read more

Best place in RRG by far! We eat here every visit (sometimes multiple times). My favorite entree is the catfish. The broccoli salad is always on point. The mac and cheese is to die for. My fiancé has a new favorite: the ribs. The cocktails are worth the extra wait. Be sure to save room for the peach cobbler. The staff are nice and cheerful. The place is typically busy and this is good food so be patient and enjoy the atmosphere in the dining room or if you sit outside the views of nature. You won't regret a trip to RedPoint! read more

When visiting Red River Gorge, friends and I visited Red Point BBQ which is really close to the camp grounds. The views were lovely especially during peak fall season so I loved that! The pork kebab (this was an appetizer and cost $9) was amazing! I also got the fried chicken entrée which was as $14 and it was okay. We did wait a long time for our food (30 minutes or more) and the waiters seemed confused as to what order went to which table. The friends that were with us said this has happened before so I'm wondering if maybe they need a new system to help them stay organized. Overall, the views were nice and people seemed friendly but the service was disorganized :/ read more

We had heard good things about this place from my husbands co-workers so we thought we'd give it a try. it was a nice day so we sat outside.. our waitress was friendly and quick.. our food came out really fast also which is great since we have 2 kids who cant sit still long.. I got the pulled pork and my husband got the brisket. The pulled pork was really good, the coleslaw didnt have much flavor, I didnt really care for it, and the potato was ok just wish it had more than a small amount of sour cream. My husband said his brisket was really good, other than the hunk of fat (in the picture) that he couldnt eat which was a whole piece of meat. His broccoli salad was good though. The kids got pulled pork, beans and macaroni.. they seemed to like it. we got the blackberry cheesecake for dessert.. it tasted kind of like a boxed cheesecake.. overall, for the price, I probably wont go back. I wasnt that impressed. read more
