We asked in town where we had to eat besides Miguel's and this place was named. It was worth the extra little drive. We were first ones to walk in on a Sunday and they got busy almost immediately. Portions were huge - everything was delicious. Brisket, pulled pork, baked potato, Caesar salad, Mac and beans and even the homemade croutons, the Caesar salad and hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream - all top tier. Okay, I had been here 2 yrs prior and actually hated my food. August 31, this year, my family took me and my nephew for our birthdays. OMG - complete 360!! The food was Ah-May-Zing!!! The squash was grilled to perfection and seasoned well. The apple butter sauce complimented the brisket very well and raised the bar on the flavor to excellent. Everything about this place is on point. The restaurant is composed of a nice open space and covered back patio that overlooks the forest. The people are kind, quick, and accurate in their service. Even with these positive points the food shines as the star. It was so good my husband and I came back twice in a row. We had heard good things about this place from my husbands co-workers so we thought we'd give it a try. it was a nice day so we sat outside.. our waitress was friendly and quick.. our food came out really fast also which is great since we have 2 kids who cant sit still long.. I got the pulled pork and my husband got the brisket. The pulled pork was really good, the coleslaw didnt have much flavor, I didnt really care for it, and the potato was ok just wish it had more than a small amount of sour cream. My husband said his brisket was really good, other than the hunk of fat (in the picture) that he couldnt eat which was a whole piece of meat. His broccoli salad was good though. The kids got pulled pork, beans and macaroni.. they seemed to like it. we got the blackberry cheesecake for dessert.. it tasted kind of like a boxed cheesecake.. overall, for the price, I probably wont go back. Best place in RRG by far! We eat here every visit (sometimes multiple times). My favorite entree is the catfish. The broccoli salad is always on point. The mac and cheese is to die for. My fiancé has a new favorite: the ribs. The cocktails are worth the extra wait. Be sure to save room for the peach cobbler. The staff are nice and cheerful. The place is typically busy and this is good food so be patient and enjoy the atmosphere in the dining room or if you sit outside the views of nature. You won't regret a trip to RedPoint! read more

When visiting Red River Gorge, friends and I visited Red Point BBQ which is really close to the camp grounds. The views were lovely especially during peak fall season so I loved that! The pork kebab (this was an appetizer and cost $9) was amazing! I also got the fried chicken entrée which was as $14 and it was okay. We did wait a long time for our food (30 minutes or more) and the waiters seemed confused as to what order went to which table. The friends that were with us said this has happened before so I'm wondering if maybe they need a new system to help them stay organized. Off the beaten path, RedPoint BBQ is in a great location with a scenic overlook. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and self-seating allowed us to sit in a great spot to see our surrounings. Our waitress was very polite and attentive, and immediately corrected a small issue with a cracked beer glass a member of our party was served. The restaurant offers regular cocktails as well as specialty, but they have a limited beer menu with only two domestics that we were familiar with. However, we did enjoy the one Kentucky beer they offered. In their appetizers, the pork belly kabobs were our absolute favorite and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a great sit-down with the family. The entrees each came with two sides, making the pricing worth it. The brisket was good, but did not have as much smokiness in its flavor that we would've liked. The hot chicken was my favorite in particular, especially with their homemade mac and cheese and coleslaw. I don't recommend the cornbread as it was pretty lackluster cake texture and didn't have much flavor that night. Although, the broccoli salad and baked potato are great choices as well. To end the meal, we got the peach cobbler which was enough for four of us to split considering the meal and appetizer. We ended up going here twice while spending time in KY. The service was just as consistent as well as the food, and we agreed it was the best dinner choice we made. We still don't recommend the cornbread, as the other side choices were excellent. The barbecue was great, they seem to have two types of sauces, sweet and vinegar versions. Personally I have paid 50% more for food that has been 1/2 as good and 1/2 the portions throughout the US. This was our first visit to RedPoint BBQ. It's worth the trip off the main drag of the RRG area. You'll find yourself winding up to the top of a steep hill and in front of a brick ranch house. The beer and beer list was very good. We ordered a side of Mac and cheese for our littlest. It was a big order and plenty for her. My 8 year old loved the grilled chicken with sides of a baked potato and Cole slaw. It's as enough to share. My husband and I shared the hummus and pita chips and the wings. Everything was very good. I loved the smoked wings with a good spicy rub. It came with homemade pickles and barbecue sauce. We took home a big box of leftovers! The kids enjoyed running around in the property. This was my second time having bbq here. The last time I reviewed the brisket 10/10 this time i managed to get in and grab a spot at the bar literally minutes before the dinner rush started. This time i had the ribs with baked potato and broccoli salad the sides weee of course amazing the ribs were 9/10.
