Stopped here for dinner on our first night in Red River Gorge. We aren't the most BBQ-forward folks but choices were limited so we came here. Parking can be somewhat of a chore but we were able to snipe one at the end of a row at the top of the parking lots near the buildings. Ordered the pork belly skewers to start. Was worried at the size of them that they would be slimy but these were tender, and had a great char and crisp to them. For my entree I went with the brisket which comes with two sides - vinegar slaw and sweet potato. The brisket was good - sauce was standard. I thought the sweet potato was good, but the slaw was very bland and pedestrian. Very disappointing if I'm honest with everything else good. We took dessert home - I went with the bourbon peach cobbler. Holy hell the size of it was insane, and the side ice cream put on top and the sauce was very very good. Service was solid and would highly recommend trying this place.
A BBQ restaurant that is about a mile down a gravel road makes my mouth water the closer the GPS counts down to 0.0 miles. Perched high atop the hill, those diners sitting outside have an amazing view of the trees and the sky while seated comfortably in the shade. Servers are quick to come around and take your order.. mine being beef brisket, Mac and Beans (Mac and cheese with baked beans on top) vinegar slaw and squash. Also on special was asparagus on the late-May evening that I stopped in. I'm a beef brisket snob. I like it lean and well smoked without the need for heavy bbq sauces. My opinion is that the more sauce you have to use, the worse off the meat. Having traveled all over, including a heavy concentration in the south sampling beef brisket, I can attest to the deliciousness of Red Point's brisket. A nice mix of fat, the brisket was tender and juicy and I could cut it with my fork. The side of bbq sauce complimented it rather than overpowering it, which is what it should do. The Mac and cheese baked beans was something I have never seen on a menu before. Mac and cheese on the bottom and baked beans on top.. I'm a fan. I'm also a fan of the bacon on top of it! The squash was so/so.. a little overcooked to me and the balsamic didn't really do anything for me. I would have liked some garlic and onion seasoning on it instead. The vinegar slaw was also a bit of a miss for me, but no one has been able to beat a local place in Thorntown, Indiana's vinegar cole slaw for me. The most important item.. the beef brisket.. was a solid 9.5 for me. I'm sure if I'm in the area again, my mouth will start watering thinking about it!
Went on a Saturday night in April. Place was packed! Wait was only 20 minutes for a table. They have lots of seating inside & outside (covered patio). They have a separate bar where you can grab a drink and wait. On a crowded night the bathroom line can get long (only 2 stalls). The appetizers: pork belly skewers & curry hummus with pita chips were both amazing. Lots of flavor. For dinner we had the ribs, pulled pork, & blackened catfish (all with 2 sides). Loved them all and they were large portions. The sides were also excellent. Really enjoyed the sweet potato and broccoli salad. Entrees were $16-$22 with two sides. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.
What a food knockout! Redpoint BBQ is my new favorite Gorge food spot, and I didn't expect that going in. That's because EVERY food item is top-notch and gourmet! Huge portions, so order accordingly lol Ranking my food items, from best to least: 1) Baked sweet potato (best I've ever had) 2) Hot Chicken sandwich (add the brioche bun) 3) Broccoli salad (perfectly creamy) 4) Asparagus (perfectly grilled) 5) Rack of ribs (the only subpar item, was ok) Also commendable are the drink prices! Cocktails were $9 so that went a long way to our enjoyment. As for the place, there's plenty of parking and great outdoor seating in a relaxed peaceful nature area. I can't wait to come back!
Came for dinner on a Thursday night at 4:37pm and it was packed. I had read it got busy on weekends, but every outside table was taken and we got one of the last inside tables. People were parking along the drive in, but then we realized they did have overflow parking. Parking all together was a cluster. There is no information on how to order if you order at the counter, sit down, someone seats, you, etc., so that was confusing. We got a seat, a server came over and got our order. It was soooooo cold inside. We had to go get jackets. It took a really really really long time for our food to come out. The food was delicious for the most part. Pulled pork and bbq sauce was tasty as was the Mac and cheese. The Cole slaw was just meh. My husband liked his brisket and sweet potato. He didn't love his corn bread. It came with an herb better that taste like a cheddar bay biscuit. One person got the grilled chicken and didn't care for it. All in all, great food and good portion sizes. We also got charged for 2 kids drinks even though it said they were included on the menu so I'd like that $6 back. They don't give you a receipt so I had no way of knowing until after I paid.
Once you overcome the challenge getting parked, this place is on point for a lot of food options, including if you have gluten allergies. My lady friend loved her pulled pork, and I enjoyed my blackened catfish, but it would have been hotter. But let's talk about the real star of the show, the mac and beans, with a little glaze drizzled on top. Call it a signature side or just call it yummy! Friendly, casual vibe and attentive service. Needs better parking options.
I can say this was like a highlight meal of my trip - it was a random pick one night on the fly but so worth it!!!! We got it to go but plenty of seating and it seems like a first come first serve kinda place - we came at opening. If we had more time it would have been a wonderful place to dine in or out with so much space!
Got here at 345 on a Thursday to make sure we got outdoor seating. It wasn't nearly as packed as other reviews say. We got the curry hummus and pita chips. It was delicious. Had the old fashioned and honey bee for drinks. They were both great. For food we had the brisket with Mac n beans and sweet tater, hot chicken with broccoli salad and mac n cheese, and smoked wings. Literally everything was amazing. The brisket melted in our mouths, the hot chicken was perfectly seasoned and spicy, and the wings were tender and delicious. The original server we had was amazing, blonde woman, but a different server took over that wasn't as attentive (blonde but with several tattoos). All in all it's the best food in the gorge, by far the best bbq I've ever eaten, and I smoke a lot of food on my own. Gotta try it.
Some friends had recommended this place and we finally made it out to the gorge to try it. It definitely far exceeded my expectations. You don't often find a place like this in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. The food is amazing! Portion sizes are literally giant. We're pretty big eaters but could have totally shared a meal. Considering the size of the plates, it's a great deal too. I got the ribs. It was a full rack of ribs and I could eat about half. My husband got brisket and my parents got pulled pork. We all had different sides and they were all amazing. The ribs were my favorite, the pork was so tender and flavorful too. Brisket was good, but I would get the ribs again or the pork again next time. service was great too.
All the good was great!! One of the best food spots i've had period. The portions were very generous for the price. The peach cobbler is actually heaven. Service was excellent our waiter was very nice and very tentative. The ambiance is amazing, especially if you're sitting outside. Overall a great spot to steal at
The folks at our campground recommended this BBQ place. SO glad they did! They said you turn down a gravel road and it looks like you're in the middle of nowhere. They were right! We got there a little after they opened (4:30 - they open at 4pm). You can sit anywhere you like so we sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful view. Staff here is very friendly and attentive. If you need anything you can grab any one of the servers nearby and they're happy to help. The food - outstanding! And HUGE portions! I had the pulled pork and mac n beans. There was so much pulled pork that I ate it for 2 more days! The mac and beans... I wasn't sure about the combo (mac n cheese and baked beans) but wow! Delicious! My husband had the brisket. I think it's the best brisket we had in a very long time. Again - big portions and we had plenty of left overs. Definitely make a stop here if you're in the Red River Gorge Area!
We had a large group for lunch at Redpoint BBQ on Mother's Day, 5/10/2026. This place was amazing!!! We were quickly seated outdoors and the service was fantastic! The servers brought us ice water and iced tea in carafes for the table. I ordered the southwest chicken salad..... I don't even have words for how delicious it was! The spicy ranch dressing was the best. We also had the curry hummus, shrimp and grits, brisket, pulled pork, Nashville chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, asparagus, coleslaw. The portions were big and EVERYTHING was delicious! I'm already planning another 2 1/2 hour trip to have that salad again! I wish I took pictures of all of the food. Excellent job, RedPoint BBQ! We will be back!

Went for an early dinner, so we got in and seated quickly. I got the hot chicken with the balsamic glazed squash and macaroni and cheese. My fiancé got the brisket, baked beans with big pieces of bacon in it and the macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious and the chicken was both juicy but crispy. Only complaint is more of a personal preference but I'd like a little more heat, it was a lot of food though and all tasted great. read more

This was our first visit to RedPoint BBQ. It's worth the trip off the main drag of the RRG area. You'll find yourself winding up to the top of a steep hill and in front of a brick ranch house. At this point you may think you've accidentally found yourself at Aunt Shirley's without an invitation. But follow the new gravel drive down and around to the restaurant. The beer and beer list was very good. We ordered a side of Mac and cheese for our littlest. It was a big order and plenty for her. My 8 year old loved the grilled chicken with sides of a baked potato and Cole slaw. It's as enough to share. My husband and I shared the hummus and pita chips and the wings. Everything was very good. I loved the smoked wings with a good spicy rub. It came with homemade pickles and barbecue sauce. We took home a big box of leftovers! The kids enjoyed running around in the property. We sat outside even though it was cloudy and windy because the view is worth it. We will be back! read more

If you're from out of town expecting great service and a great tasting meal this is your place. The family ate here twice because and loved it and didn't want to risk being disappointed at other surrounding restaurants. The barbecue was great, they seem to have two types of sauces, sweet and vinegar versions. Personally I have paid 50% more for food that has been 1/2 as good and 1/2 the portions throughout the US. Shared a peach cobbler for desert. Great value! Inside was nice, clean, and outdoor seating is also available. Causal and also a date night place with plenty of adult beverage options. read more

This place is a great addition to the Red River Gorge! It's the perfect place to hang out after hiking or climbing. The restaurant interior is really comfortable and cute, and the patio has a great view. Most importantly, the food and bourbon cocktails are fantastic, and you receive large portions for the price! The brisket is really good quality, and my friends and I raved about these sides: broccoli slaw (healthy!), sweet potatoes, and the Mac and cheese. The chicken is good, but be WARNED- it's really spicy! Be sure to ask for the non-spicy version if that's not your thing. I hear they have live music on Wednesdays too. read more

Food was fresh and delicious. Everything was so good. We really appreciate the compostable plates. The decor is well done. Lovely logo. Nice repurposing of an old barn. These guys are doing things right take them time to stop in we tried a broad range of items and all were delicious. The wing appetizer and hummus were both amazing. Desserts are on the way!! read more

This is a cool restaurant! From the setting to the servers to the food, everything about our experience was perfection! First, let me say, as a celiac, going to a restaurant and trying to choose safe, gluten free food is a bit dicey. Not here! Each and every menu item is marked as to whether it is gluten free or vegan. When they handed me the menu and I saw how many food choices I had, I was bowled over. We started with the pork belly kabobs. OMG delish! They were served with thinly sliced pickled cukes and onions. I also had the brisket with vinegar slaw and corn grits bread. Even a non gluten-free person would love that bread! Every bite was delicous! I also enjoyed a locally made Ale8. I only wish I lived closer because this would be my most visted restaurant!!! read more

So good! Portion sizes are great and most of their meats are gluten free. They say their cornbread is gluten free but it is fried in the same fryer as other gluten containing items. Just be careful if you have an allergy or celiac. They also source locally and make everything in house from scratch. Full Bar inside I would say to the restaurant to make sure you aren't cross contaminating gluten free items in the fryer or on the grill. Nashville hot chicken was SUPER HOT! read more

This place is so genuine! Granted, we only came for some drinks. But couldnt help ourselves to order a side of mac and cheese (absolutely delicious) and take home some cookie dough cheesecake . The repurposed barn is beautifully done. I got the Bramble to drink and it looked so gorgeous. A beautiful purple color bourbon drink with cute garnishes. The service was excellent, she was very attentive. They also have their own vegetable garden. Waitress said most food is grown or locally sourced :). I heard it's only been open 5 weeks but I can tell they're on the right track. Also: don't be alarmed. It is definitely past the graveyard and beyond a gravel road. If you're thinking of going, just do it! read more

Oh wow! This place is off the beaten path- and VERY WELL worth the effort to get there! My wife ordered the pulled pork, but I opted for the brisket with Cole slaw and Mac and cheese. All of it was awesome, and served with a smile by their excellent and attentive staff! And sitting on the patio with a view out across the forested valley was the icing on the cake for us! read more

We drove down a road that seemingly led nowhere until we stumbled upon this oasis of delicious. The place was packed and it quickly made sense as to why! My wife and I got a little bit of everything and don't have a single complaint. Well my complaint is that I didn't have the space in my body to finish it all. I won't call this the best bbq I've had, but it's really quite good. The casual and clean eatery is a real delight. read more

We pretty much tried it all. The blackened catfish, Hot Chicken, Brisket, pulled pork, corn bread, baked beans, coleslaw, vinegar slaw, sweet potato, baked potato, mac n Cheese & broccoli salad. Between the four of us, we agree that the catfish, baked beans (great smoke flavor), and mac n cheese were the favorites. The hot chicken has a wonder spicy flavored breading but the chicken was dry. The brisket is always my favorite at any bbq joint but unfortunately, this time it missed the mark. Kinda dry and not that melt in your mouth brisket others do well. The baked potato was very dry. We enjoyed our food and would def go back. I'm glad we tried it all and now know what to order next time. read more

OMG! This place is absolutely amazing! Honestly we were not expecting a whole lot from this place especially being tucked away so far off the road but this place delivered and then some. Great rustic ambience inside and incredible views all around. The patio tent tables were great. We got a parking space up front saving us a little walk back up from the overflow parking lot but either way, it's worth the walk if needed. Started off with few mixed drinks, the Hellbender and a Bramble. Fantastic made drinks from the bar. A great selection of beers and a full liquor selections. We ordered right after the drinks arrived and decided to skip any appetizers. We regretted not ordering an appetizer after seeing some delivered to nearby tables but later we were glad because after our main coarse arrived, there was no room. First order was a full slab of bbq ribs with sweet potato and broccoli salad. These ribs were perfect! Crispy rub on the outside and fall off the bone moist on the inside. Absolutely incredible and a huge amount. The sides of sweet potatoes were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and smothered in a sweet butter glaze and the broccoli salad was spot on. Fresh, delicious and perfectly balanced with cranberries, pecans and dressing. Every bite was full of incredible flavor that excited the palate for more. The next order was grilled chicken, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. Wow! The chicken was perfectly grilled to deliver a smooth smoked grilled flavor to accent the moist chicken hiding inside every bite. The sweet potatoes were perfectly cooked and smothered in a sweet butter glaze and then the Mac and Cheese was to the moon! A full flavor cheesy goodness that is rarely accomplished by restaurant versions! The amount of food was nothing less than incredible. Take home boxes are required unless you loosen the belt on the way out. This place is a true hidden gem and the price along with the quality of food is out of this word! read more

Let me just say...... this place is AWESOME! The pork belly kebabs were delicious and we almost stopped there as they were that good. So glad we didn't because it was some of the best brisket we've ever had. Although my spouse was skeptical on my pick of the squash as a side he even agreed it was so good. The sweet potatoes were always excellent. There are not enough adjectives to describe this place. We will definitely go back. The patio was beautiful with heat lamps for the chill. Bonus as they are open all year, Friday and Saturday the rest of the year. Well worth the trip. New favorite reason to visit the gorge. read more
