I found this place randomly the day of my fur baby's birthday & I am so glad I did! I love celebrating another year of his life but I was so busy & exhausted from work and life in general that I didn't have the time to make one. After I got off the phone with them I just felt taken care of. They delivered it to our door & it was soo cute, he absolutely loved it! Even I liked it haha. Definitely recommend! My baby girl is turning 1, and for this amazing day we wanted to give her a birthday cake. First, looked into making it online, but decided we wanted everything perfect. So we checked this place out and ended up ordering a birthday cake for our baby girl. The reason to why we were so happy that she turned one was, when we first brought her back from the pound, she had parvo. The pound and vet was telling us to get rid of it and to change her out for another puppy. I couldn't believe how heartless these people were. So we tended to her night and day and fed her, kept her hydrated, and continued to assure her that she was going to be alright. She made it, and now my baby girl turned one! They were so helpful and made sure I knew everything inside of the cake and assured me that every ingredient was doggy safe. I was tempted to try a piece myself lol. The service was excellent. Very helpful. And most importantly, my baby girl loved it! I'm definitely coming back here! read more

I spent $200 dollars with this company for my first order. It came with two birthday cakes that were falling apart. The shipping was very slow. By the time I got the treats, they were closed for the summer. In fact, the website still says they are closed for the summer. I have tried contacting them many times since the summer has been over for months. They do not respond. I will not purchase another item from them and I would recommend anyone who is thinking of being a wholesale customer to think of someplace else. The quality and the customer service are terrible. read more

This place is now closed. The closest doggie bakery I could find now is in Long Beach. 08/25/16 - i was requested to update my review of this location, since the proprietors do still have this business. It is a delivery service business. They are working on updating their information in YELP. read more

Kool Dog is just down the street from our house, but we would come here even if it was a bit of a drive. The folks who own the place are really nice, and the guy behind the counter is nice and laid back. The groomer is really great with our three dogs, they always prance out of the salon, showing off their fancy haircuts. Our girls especially are a little high maintenance and easily upset, so when we find a groomer that sends everyone home clean and happy, we know we've found a gem. We've set up a standing appointment, and it's great not having to think about scheduling, so if you have a breed that needs regular maintenance, keep that in mind. It makes life so much easier. The price varies a little bit each time, just depending on what they need done (de-matting, etc), but it's usually about $30-35 for a wash, and $45-50 for a full groom. Really reasonable, especially for the quality of the work. Just a heads-up, when you're paying for grooming, they only take cash or check. For everything else, they happily take plastic. There's a bank in the same shopping center, if you need an ATM. As for their retail section, they've been renovating, and are still in the process of getting everything spiffed up. They've made room for a small, but regularly-rotating selection of adorable dog clothes ($15-25 for a shirt) and accessories. Needless to say, our fuzzy children are collecting quite the stylish wardrobe. They still have their dog bakery, which is what they were originally known for, and they're still making cute and tasty treats. My dogs adore the 'churros' especially, but so far they haven't tried anything they haven't loved. The 'cupcakes' are a little messy, so you might want to save those for a pre-grooming treat. read more

This place was great my question is has anyone had a taste of one of these? They smell good enough to eat!

This is probably my favorite dog bakery shop! I've been looking for a Bakery for months and I finally came across this shop. I give this place 5 stars they are amazing. Great customer service. I called in and placed a order for a small dog cake for my little girl who was turning 2 and the service was great. Very polite. They delivered the cake on time not even a minute late which I think is amazing!! My little girl loved her cake thank you so much. I looked into other shops and the cost for a cake is crazy. I bought a small came for 14 dollars and I couldn't be any happier. read more

My experience here was brief. I went in for a cake for my dog's 6 month birthday...I didn't know that was a thing till today. We picked her up a bone shaped cake and the lady asked if I wanted any writing on it so I asked her to put Happy 6 Months. I was happy with how it came out. I also ended up picking up a cosmopolitan shaped treat for her. i felt the price was reasonable a bit cheaper than what I was expecting to pay. My dog loved the treat and cake. read more

I'm not a crazy dog mom but when your dog turns 3, how can you not spoil her? To my understanding, they can do same day deliveries, but I ordered a few days ahead of time. The cake was adorable and I had to do everything in my power to not have it be devoured in seconds. I ordered a medium because the birthday girl is a German Shepherd and her siblings are two small terriers, but surprisingly that was more than enough for them. Will definitely be ordering from here again :) read more

The service here is very straightforward and professional! I sent a couple messages with questions and received answers back almost immediately. I was able to arrange a cake delivery through Yelp messages exclusively, except for the date of delivery which Mark asked for my number to text me to let me know when the cake would arrive. He even let me check in and receive a free treat! I asked Mark if he could fit in a message and some symbols and he let me know realistically how it would all fit on the cake so I trimmed some words. I originally wanted "Happy Birthday, Marvel!" with a captain America shield, red star, and avengers A on a 6 inch and Mark let me know it wouldn't fit so I just put the word "Marvel!" on with the symbols. I was happy enough and the cake came out very cute. The delivery was very fast and polite. It was $21 for a 6 inch, medium sized cake which is the typical price for bakeries that cater to dogs, if not a little on the more affordable side. The cake lasted just fine a day in the fridge and even an hour in the sun at our outdoor party. There were 8 dogs so we split it into tiny pieces but we had some pretty small dogs and they all seemed to enjoy it. read more

This review is just for the retail side of the store, not the grooming which is actually a separate business. Angus and I came here today on our second tour of the South Bay looking for things to do. This place is just OK. I would probably rate it higher if I lived in the South Bay and was able to take advantage of it being one of the very few places you can buy some premium treats and supplies, but there's really nothing special about this place unless you aren't willing to venture outside the South Bay. Kool Dog Kafe has really good looking treats! They make cakes for $14 for the small size. One color, and one shape. A white cake in the shape of a bone. It did look pretty good. I would have ordered one, but I want to do some more research before Angus' upcoming 1st bday. In addition to the cake, they make distinctive cookies in the shapes of dogs, ice cream cones, and donuts. Very impressive. The owner seemed very proud and was helpful in showing off a pre-made cake for my consideration and giving me information on the ingredients. They are also a retail store carrying an assortment of semi-premium retail goods for your pet and some standard supplies. It is staffed by a one man team/owner and the store closes anytime he goes out of town. According to my conversation with him, the store has been around for 9 years and he purchased it 3 years ago. They don't sell any dog food so South Bay residents don't really have a reason to come back. I mean, how many premium treats, collars, water bowls, beds, etc. can you buy? If they added some premium dog food to their inventory I would bump this up to 3 stars since I could see it being a real asset to have around, but because of that, it really lacks any appeal for people to come back. The store is not the brightest or cleanest I've been in. Overall I would say things are not organized well and make browsing difficult. There really isn't any fine accessories for pets like tags, charms, clothing, etc. Prices are not readily apparent and I felt like a bother asking the owner how much everything cost. The prices were about what you would expect for any Westside pet boutique. The owner was cordial, but I wouldn't say he was friendly. No treats offered to Angus, not for free anyways. While it has a monopoly on the South Bay of being one of a few dog boutique places, it pales in comparison to most places in WLA and WeHo. If you're used to shopping at these places, then you won't be impressed coming here. I was going to buy a small bag of treats for Angus to show my support, but they don't have any or the owner didn't suggest anything when I commented that the cookies he had were too big/expensive for me to give him for a 1 shot treat. No parking evident, but I didn't have a problem finding a spot on the street. I'd suggest someone make the distinction between the retail store and the grooming shop since they are distinct entities. I would do it myself, but I'm not invested enough and I didn't get any information on the grooming business. read more

This place is really cool! If you have a little buddy that you love stop by get him or her a treat, a cool leash or collar or even a halloween costume! They have all sorts of cute little things for your pup. They also have the cutest little baked treats for them that look like human bakery items. Sooo cute! They do dog adoptions out front every saturday as well. They are a little on the pricey side because they aim towards a very niche clientiele but an awesoem place to stop by. read more

Kool Dog has the cutest doggie treats that look like cup cakes, pizza, potstickers, hotdogs, hamburgers and various seasonal holiday cookies (Christmas, Valentine's, etc.) I bought my pom-pom Naya a little dog bone birthday cake for her 1st birthday. The treats are a little pricey... but good little doggies deserve special treats every once in a while. The dog collars, clothes, and accessories are super cute too if it fits in your budget. read more

Kool Dog Kafe is a doggie bakery/boutique/groomer. This is where my lil pomeranian goes to get groomed. They do a really good job...she comes back so beautiful! (not that she isn't all the time) They also have loads of treats that look good enough for humans to eat...we're talking doggie birthday cakes, brownies (no chocolate of course), etc. They have doggie clothing as well, though my dog isn't a fan of playing dress-up! If you have a dog, you should check it out. read more
