Sooo happy I stumbled upon Redondo Dog! I usually go to the Dog Bakery but its a bit of a drive. Needless to say, I'm in love with RD treats & they have my continued business. They smell so yummy and they're beautifully made. Love the clear box it comes in too! My dog has already eaten the peanut butter cup and she loved it! The transaction was smooth and I experienced great customer service. Do be advised that this is in a residential neighborhood so be courteous of owner & neighbors :) read more

It was our first time ordering a cake for our little fur baby when she turned 2 years old, the website made it so easy to order and the available options were great for any add ons. They called to confirm the order which made it more convenient and puts you at ease. All the dogs loved it, the cake was freshly made and spongy. Compared to other custom dog cakes we've ordered in the past that were dense and tough making it hard for dogs to eat. Shape could be better and the letters are a little thick and unclear. I never received a confirmation email and even checked my spam folder. For a week I was worried we wouldn't have a cake, but luckily I got a confirmation text the day before. Pick up was super easy and quick! read more

History

Established in 1999.

Redondo Dog is a family owned and operated business, originally called Kool Dog Kafe. What started as a dog bakery and dog boutique quickly expanded to include dog grooming and eventually dog walking services. Owners Mark and Azalea, husband and wife, were drawn to the pet industry for their connection with dogs and their passion for sharing this joy with others. Redondo Dog has come a long way and adapted to the changing environment but its family roots remain the same. Update July 2016: We have closed our physical location. We are now offering FREE same-day delivery for all birthday cake and treat orders! We continue to offer dog walking in the south bay area. The grooming salon has been relocated. Update June 2020: Curbside pickup is available in Carson. I accept Venmo @redondo-dog, cash, or check payable to Redondo Dog. Thank you!

Meet the Business Owner: Mark and Azalea F.

Mark and Azalea were just friends in middle school but years later they connected on Facebook and became husband and wife. They were drawn to the pet industry for their connection with dogs and their passion for sharing this joy with others. Mark was helping out part time as a teenager in the boutique and the grooming salon with his mother. Mark had such a great time, he decided to take on Redondo Dog as a full-time venture as soon as he graduated high school. Many of their clients witnessed Mark grow over the years from a teen to an adult. Azalea, who was focused on her children and career in the fitness industry, realized her fondness towards animals at an early age. She now channels her enthusiasm into dog walking and assistance in the grooming salon in her spare time. Mark and Azalea were married in 2013 and have started a growing family of their own, including children and pets.

V Tropical Bake Shop…read more A small Filipino bakery offering a variety of delicious Filipino savory snacks, sweet treats, and freshly baked goodies. Some items are made in-house, while others may be sourced elsewhere, but there's plenty to explore if you're craving a taste of the Philippines! One of the highlights here is the pandesal, the classic Filipino bread roll. If you've never had freshly baked pandesal, I highly recommend stopping by early in the morning to give it a try. There's just something different about enjoying warm, freshly baked pandesal with a hot cup of coffee. Simple, comforting, and oh-so-good! Here's a little tip: If you're looking for freshly baked pandesal, head straight to the cashier and ask for it. They usually sell them in paper bags containing several rolls, so you'll have a few to enjoy or share. Don't just rely on what's displayed. It's worth asking about a fresh batch! The bakery recently underwent renovations, and the improvements are definitely noticeable. The updated lighting and overall aesthetics give the space a warmer, more inviting atmosphere. It's a nice refresh that makes the bakery feel even more welcoming. Another welcome improvement is their payment options! Before the renovation, this was a CASH-ONLY establishment. Thankfully, they now accept credit cards, tap-to-pay, and other electronic payment methods. Definitely a plus for those who don't normally carry cash! If you're unfamiliar with Filipino baked goods or curious about Filipino delicacies, don't hesitate to step inside and browse their selection. You might just discover a new favorite! Sometimes, it's the simple things, like freshly baked pandesal and a cup of coffee, that really hit the spot.

Parking was easy, and when we walked in, there was only one occupied table. Three employees were chatting in the back. We were greeted, but it felt more like, "What would you like?" than "Welcome in." No smile, no conversation, no thank you--just a transaction. After taking our order, the employee returned to chatting with coworkers. When our order was ready, our name was called, the halo-halo was placed on the counter, and that was the end of the interaction. As for the halo-halo itself, my partner rated it a 2/10. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overpriced for what we received. We were hoping for layers of flavor and nostalgia but got a sugar rush that could probably power a small city. As a business owner myself, I understand that customer service is one of the biggest drivers of customer retention. Great products can bring people in once, but great service brings them back. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. The good news? These issues are fixable. A little more warmth, engagement, and hospitality would go a long way. Until then, we'll continue our search for our next favorite halo-halo spot.
