The cake and treats Igot for my dogs were so cute and my dogs loved them. I got a little whipped cream on my fingers when I was cutting the cake so I decided to taste it. It was actually a little sweet! There is no store front. You order online and you get a text with pick up instructions. Mark was very responsive to questions, and adding additional treats. I texted him when I arrived at the pickup location and waited just a few minutes for him to come out with my items. read more

Our pom Coco had her 4th Birthday and I really wanted to give her a very nice birthday treat. I'm so glad I found Redondo Dog on Yelp. I placed my order online and received a text right away from Mark letting me know when and where the cake, treats, hat, and decor will be picked up. When I picked up my order, I was so amazed at how beautiful and appetizing the cake and treats were. The b-day hat was just right for Coco and the b-day sign was really nice for the cake. All the dogs loved it, the cake was freshly made and spongy. Compared to other custom dog cakes we've ordered in the past that were dense and tough making it hard for dogs to eat. Shape could be better and the letters are a little thick and unclear. I never received a confirmation email and even checked my spam folder. I picked up a last min. birthday doggy cake for Nova, who we are dog sitting for the wkend. When her parents told us it was her birthday we wanted to celebrate her and make her feel special since her family was not here! History

Established in 1999.

Redondo Dog is a family owned and operated business, originally called Kool Dog Kafe. What started as a dog bakery and dog boutique quickly expanded to include dog grooming and eventually dog walking services. Owners Mark and Azalea, husband and wife, were drawn to the pet industry for their connection with dogs and their passion for sharing this joy with others. Redondo Dog has come a long way and adapted to the changing environment but its family roots remain the same. Update July 2016: We have closed our physical location. We are now offering FREE same-day delivery for all birthday cake and treat orders! We continue to offer dog walking in the south bay area. The grooming salon has been relocated. Update June 2020: Curbside pickup is available in Carson. I accept Venmo @redondo-dog, cash, or check payable to Redondo Dog. Thank you!

Meet the Business Owner: Mark and Azalea F.

Mark and Azalea were just friends in middle school but years later they connected on Facebook and became husband and wife. They were drawn to the pet industry for their connection with dogs and their passion for sharing this joy with others. Mark was helping out part time as a teenager in the boutique and the grooming salon with his mother. Mark had such a great time, he decided to take on Redondo Dog as a full-time venture as soon as he graduated high school. Many of their clients witnessed Mark grow over the years from a teen to an adult. Azalea, who was focused on her children and career in the fitness industry, realized her fondness towards animals at an early age. She now channels her enthusiasm into dog walking and assistance in the grooming salon in her spare time. Mark and Azalea were married in 2013 and have started a growing family of their own, including children and pets.

I've always wanted to try their Orange County location but just never got around to it, so I was excited to finally give them a try. I walked in expecting it to be self-serve like 85 Degrees Bakery, but it's actually set up more like a donut shop or Porto's, where most of the pastries are displayed in a case and you tell the staff what you'd like. They do have a refrigerated self-serve section with sandwiches and onigiri, as well as a table with loaves of bread and buns. The ordering process caught me off guard because I usually like taking my time looking through all the pastries at bakeries. Since everything was behind the counter, I felt a little rushed with people waiting behind me. They have so many options that it can be a bit overwhelming. I also had to stop myself from ordering too much since I'm trying to cut back on carbs. Here's what I ordered: Hot Dog Bun - 4/5: Tasty with a soft, fluffy bun. I just wish it had a little more of that cheesy crust on top. Ham and Cheese Croissant - 3/5: My boyfriend ordered this and thought it was just okay. It was a little small for the price. Strawberry Cream Croissant - 5/5: They're known for this, and now I understand why. The pastry was light and flaky, the strawberries were sweet, and the custard was rich without being overly sweet. Spam Roll Onigiri - 4/5: I loved the egg, and it was really flavorful. It was served a bit cold, though. I think it would taste even better if it were kept under a heat lamp. Raisin Bun - 5/5: So soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of raisins. It was also a great value--six buns for only $4.20. Hot Vanilla Latte - 4/5: Strong with just a light sweetness. It was really good, but I think it could have been a little creamier. The prices were reasonable. I spent about $26 for everything, which I thought was a great deal. Customer service was excellent. Even though there was a line behind me, the staff never made me feel rushed while I decided what I wanted. The barista was especially friendly and even checked in afterward to ask if I liked my latte. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come again.

We enjoyed the peach salad. We ordered a few different pasta and the tagliatelle in particular was disappointing. It really lacked flavor that we had to mix the other pasta dish sauce to it. The pork plate was good, a bit small but we enjoyed it. Now the mussles and frites were disappointing too. The sauce just didn't do it for me (other friends agreed). I always talked really highly about Nonna Mercato (I also enjoyed the brunch so much) and always told people that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Long Beach, but this one really missed the mark for me and my friends. I don't know if this would make us want to go to Summer Nights again next time. For $130 per person (after tax, tip, and corkage fees), I definitely hoped for a much better experience.

Stale bakery items on multiple occasions. My dog wouldn't eat them any of the times. I'm not sure how long their baked items sit in the display but I won't buy the baked items again. Wanted to return for a refund but no returns accepted for a refund. I ended up baking dog cookies at home which were fresh and soft. My dog loved baking at home and now I have a new recipe up my sleeve for dog treats. We celebrated my pups birthday with a pack of dogs and I shared my own baked dog cookies which I decorated myself. I made it more fresh and special. No more baked items from KoolDog for us. read more

Called with super short notice for a cake - usually, I bake them on my own, but didn't have time for this particular birthday. Mark was very friendly, and I was able to pick up a cute cake (small size) within a few hours. The process was really easy and price reasonable. This was an amazing shop dedicated to dogs!! I loved stopping by and seeing all the treats, cakes, clothes, leashes, beds and more. The groomer and staff were incredible as well. Sad to see this shop close. However i am happy to know they still have cakes for delivery and dog walking services available. read more
