This was a nice bar. I came here for a board game event that happens every other week Saturday called Booze and Board Games. I got there early and was sitting at the bar with someone. It wasn't very busy. I don't really like beer. But I had had some sweet type drink previously that I did really like, but I had no idea what the name was. I tried describing it to the bar tender Steve who wasn't sure what it might be. He gave me a sample of what I thought it was and that wasn't it He then went to get me a cider to see if I would like that. When he came back he had my cider to sample and a 2nd sample. He said he thought the 2nd sample might be my drink that I was describing. Well he was right. The 2nd drink was sweet and delicious like I had remembered. I happily ordered one. I literally know almost nothing about beers/ciders/and whatever other names there are for it. But through my real real bad description he was able to pinpoint what I was describing. Excellent job Steve. The rest of the bar was nice. My group set up on a table near the back that had plenty of room for games. The whole bar was nice and clean as well. read more

Really great brewery in a really great location! I have been to Redlight a few times now and have always enjoyed my visit. They have a pretty vast amount of beers and ciders available. The staff are also super knowledge and helpful if you have questions or need a recommendation. I love the outdoor picnic tables in the back. Such a great spot when the weather is nice. They often have food trucks on site either in the back or in the parking lot if you're looking to grab some food while you enjoy your beer. read more

Redlight is a great place to try a huge selection of beers in a welcoming space! It is much larger than it looks like from the outside and they even brew their own beers there. Although it is a problem in a lot of places, they allow you to bring your dogs inside, which is a wonderful surprise in this case. I love that they often welcome unique and local restaurants to sell food inside their space so that you can have something yummy with your delicious beer! read more

I'd heard about this place for a while. I was called out on the fact I had been to ORL so many times and never been here by my beer loving friends. I made it a point to make it here on my last trip....and was not disappointed. An extensive beer list. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. This place is awesome. It would be impossible for me to even go into the beer list (there's not enough characters allowed by Yelp to list everything) - but they have something for everyone. I had an 11% beer to start and quickly realized that I wouldn't be able to finish it (after a beer tasting somewhere else earlier and the fact we had to be up early for sessions the next day). I got a nitro stout as a substitute. Delicious! They have a pretty great menu - that features all the taps, prices, ABV, etc. Great when wanting to make an educated choice. They also tell you what keg is on deck next....I don't recall ever seeing that at any bar. That's really cool as you know what to look forward to. I didn't even look at the bottle list - but I hear that it's pretty extensive as well. Overall we had a great experience. We had a very diverse group when it comes to beer - with varying love for the suds - and everyone was happy. Even had one of my counterparts order white wine (they get that not everyone wants beer!) And the prices on that draft list are very fair; most priced between 5 and 7 dollars (easily 9 to 11 dollars at many of the South Florida beer bars). Don't you hate when a keg goes dry and you want to know what's coming... that printed list tells what's on deck too. Beyond the stellar beers on tap, they have a bottle list with over 200 bottles... plus a vintage bottle list.. and if you have trouble finding worth-while sour ales at other places, then know this is the place to be. ANSWER B. * * * THE STAFF * * * I only had contact with three different bartenders but all three were overly friendly, welcoming and eager to assist the indecisive group beside us. We stopped by with a group of 6 for some drinks and I had a couple of the Francois-something (I forget its exact name but it was sparkling white wine), which was superb for the price. The employees are friendly, helpful, and make it an easy-going atmosphere. There's often some type of food truck outside on the weekend, and they allow you to bring outside food and drinks inside (woohoo)! There's a sense of community here and it's a nice atmosphere. What's great about Redlight is that, despite the hipster vibe, the bartenders are super friendly and knowledgable and don't make you feel like a complete fool for not knowing the difference between an ale and a lager. The newest location (on Corine) is great- it's much more accessible than the last two (biking to Redlight=a great Saturday evening) and has tons of room. I also love their partnerships, including with Lineage Roasting and Cigar City, as they produce unique, awesome results. Redlight is putting Orlando on the map and has been getting national attention. Places like this, started by a coupe of guys with a good idea and a serious passion, is what makes Orlando so freaking amazing. Glad they're having much success! Well deserved! read more

Redlight offers some amazing beer. And if you go on a weeknight, or early on a weekend, this place is 4\5 stars. However, I don't do much drinking during those times anymore, and on a Saturday night this place will be crazy packed and super loud. The sound system for the bands that play is not so great. That or maybe it's the acoustics? Not sure of the science behind it, but basically it's impossible to converse or even hear yourself think when there is a band. Parking is still terrible. One nice thing though, if you drink too much to drive home, either tell the bartender (or have a friend do it) and they won't tow your car if you leave it over night. My First Elite event!! Whoo-Hoo!! I got the opportunity to visit RLRL as it was featured as one of the Yelp Elite events of the month. What a great way to begin my Elite adventures! To the passerby RLRL appears to be just another store-front bar in the strip plaza but don't let the appearance fool you! As you enter the interior you will notice several tables and the long bar that wraps around the building. Bar is complete with a huge selection of local and specialty beers for purchase. They have fancy extensive drink menus everywhere if you want something a little more out of the norm. I was able to sample a fantastic pear cider! Yum! The south side of the bar leads into the more spacious area of RLRL. They have several tables, open floor and high ceilings. The decor is very modern yet you still feel at home. Thanks to Yelp we had quite the selection of beer and grilled cheese sandwiches to sample. Also P for Pie maede an appearance and brought along some sweet treats and cider to boot. I really enjoyed the Cigar City Cider and Mead Hard Cider courtesy of the P is for Pie station. It was sweet and had just enough bite. I also sampled the Cigar city Maduro which had a very distinct chocolate/coffee flavor. I highly recommend RLRL for your next barventure (see what I did there?). With the large selection of beers and the cool relaxing atmosphere you can enjoy some quality brews with friends or wind down after a long day at the office. I can relate to the mourning on this thread for the old location; there was a magic about the tiny room that can't be recreated. That said, the new location delivers. Now that they are open til 2am, the place really starts to jump around 10:30 every night. Still the best selection of beer in Central Florida, curated by bartenders who really care about bringing the best beers possible and serving them at the cheapest prices for the quality. If you come in at a slow time, have a seat and talk beer with the bartenders; while the selection is intimidating, they are the nicest and most helpful guys you'll ever meet. Check out the live jazz on Thursday evenings, or any of the bands on the weekend. It's still smoke-free, and a credit card machine is allegedly in the works. And I, for one, have been lobbying hard for them to keep the old Azteks sign. It's as inexplicable as the bar beneath it, and I like that. read more

Such a cool beer parlor! We discovered this place via the Scotch and Good Conversation Podcast. After hearing countless, persuasive commercials, we opted to stop in for one of Peters events. Our visit was on a Thursday afternoon, and we were in time to enjoy some happy hour beers made in house ($4). The place was constructed in an abandoned Carrier AC repair shop and offices, and the look is awesome. We learned a bit of the history of the building itself, and were able to see where they brew the beer and what each cask is used for. While they do not serve food in house, they use this opportunity to allow different local venues and pop up restaurants to proudly serve their food each night. They have a schedule up on the chalk board with upcoming visits. We went on a night that Orlando Meats was serving up some goodness and donuts. I worked my way through three of the house beers, with the Good Times Porter being my favorite. I was also very fond of the IPA, and while the strawberry fields was not my cup of tea, it was still very good and sessionable. Prices are very reasonable outside of happy hour, with Redlight drafts coming in under $5. This place is really for beer enthusiasts, as they carry hundreds, if not thousands or different beers by the bottle, ranging from $4 up to over $400. We are happy that we have a thousand reasons to come back. The service was awesome, with the beer tender anxious to tell us everything we wanted to know and offer up suggestions. read more

There is an unbelievable selection of bottled beer, including a long vintage selection of aged bottles. To top it off, their prices are very reasonable, and they have excellent happy hour special. They'll soon be moving from their location across from Roxy (scary) to a great location near Park Ave CD's / Bikes, Beans & Bordeaux. The only 2 negatives I could think of are (1) parking; (2) proximity to Roxy. Both gone! Anyone who wants to get their feet wet in the new craft beer scene can come here and the bartenders will gladly give you some lessons (just don't go when it's busy and the bar is crowded). If you're already an expert in craft beer, then come and enjoy all they have to offer. Just pace yourself! read more

I'm pretty impressed by this place. They had a happy hour of their in-house beers when we arrived (5-7pm and 12-2am everyday) for 3.50$ a pint. Can't beat that! And they had a Sour Porter on tap -- right up our alley. Oh my goodness - it was seriously one of the best balanced sours I have had. We will likely return this week just to grab some more. Unfortunately I can't handle more than two beers in a night :(. Bartenders were super friendly and helpful and there are plenty of tables to sit around on as well as a nice long bar. There were tons of bottled beers if what is on tap doesn't suit. Best part was our check -- itemized receipts for a bar?! That actually really impressed me and made me wonder why other bars don't do the same. You can read what you ordered and it is clear what you ordered (me after two beers can get confused). A few people had told me about this place before I got to finally try it. I've been here a couple of times and it sure is a very mellow taproom. I've never been here for any special events, so I'm not sure if the atmosphere is any different, but I wouldn't call it anything special. Personally, I prefer draught beer over bottles, as it allows me to taste it before putting in my order. So I was expecting a bigger draught system at least from the description my friends had given me. The list changes constantly, so gotta give them that, but I guess I had my expectations set high in regards to variety. It's a nice place to chill, the beertenders are knowledgeable and friendly, and it's in a cute neighborhood. In all, I would totally go back, knowing that it's a small laid back taproom. read more

Digging the chill vibes at Redlight Redlight. I'm a fan. They have a great beer selection. Something here for every taste preference. Even when you're a beer noob like me and you only like framboise. Ha! And for the wine drinkers (myself, again) they have some options in that category as well. Very reasonable prices, too. You can snag any of their house beers for $3.50 during happy hour. But even outside of happy hour, the prices are pretty dang good. Their beers on tap change frequently. Check the chalkboard on the right side of the entrance for what they have available today. RLRL is very casual and chill. The staff is super nice and very accommodating. And the space is much larger than it looks. Upon first entering RLRL it appears to be a smaller bar with a few tables. But walk around the right side of the venue and you'll find it opens up to a nice sized area with ample seating in the back. As such, this is a great place to chill with a large group of friends and enjoy a beer or two. Bonus: Although RLRL doesn't serve food, they often have a food truck parked outside. Which food truck is there changes on any given day. And they allow you to bring any outside food into the bar to enjoy with your drink. Cool place! I'll definitely be back! read more

Some day I'm going to tell my kids "I remember when Redlight Redlight was just a little bar upstairs in Winter Park that couldn't serve drinks past midnight". But since my kids are still too young to care about my bar-hopping, I have to share that with you. Redlight has been around a pretty long time by Orlando standards, and as it has moved locations it has improved each time. The current spot on Corrine is the largest location yet, and the best in my opinion. Parking is always available, there is plenty of room inside, and the bar is huge. So, you won't get stressed coming here. It's an easy place to manage. As for the beer. I am pretty sure they have something for everyone. I like to switch it up and always try different draft beers, but they also have a massive cooler with way too many choices of bottles. They have a book at the bar with a complete list (or at least the used to, I haven't asked for it in a long time). It's a bit overwhelming, really, and if there's something specific you're looking for you'd be better off just asking the bartenders. They seem to have committed everything to memory. Speaking of the bartenders, they are fantastic. I love that they will let you sample the beers on tap and give you suggestions. Don't be intimidated that this is a bar just for hipsters. I'm always surprised when I talk to people how many different people like this place. They really draw in a good mix of customers. read more

Redlight Redlight is exactly what I wanted, even though I didn't know it. The bartenders know what's up, and the fellow patrons are easy to talk to. We had the Ommegang Witte and too many Rogue's Dead Guys (big ol' 22 oz bottles). The random music they were playing was awesome and super eclectic, from Stevie Nicks to The Pixies. The ladies room was immaculate, and there was no line. Granted it was a Thursday, but still. I was impressed. It's got a casual, chill vibe that I need in a bar. If I was spending more time here, I would definitely go back. In fact, I'm making a point to get a giant Dead Guy next time I'm in town. read more

Getting caught up on some reviews for places I was at last week. Here's one! I hadn't been here for a while until last week, when a friend and I stopped in for a little bit after going to the Maitland food truck event and then to Wally's. Each of us had one beer here; she said hers was very good, as was mine. I forget what I ordered, now, but it was some sort of Bavarian ale. It had a great color to it - looked lighter than a cider/Bud Light/etc. It was a good deal for $4. Perhaps I ought to go here more often? I hope I make it back sometime soon. There's a cool seating area (booths and tables/chairs) close to the bar and next to a performance area for live music/etc., and the outside seating area looks like it'd be nice to chill out in. To be honest, I've never hung out outside before - every time I've been here, I've sat/hung out inside. The outside area was crowded when my friend and I were here last week; there was nowhere to sit, and we came back a few times to try to find a space. No luck! So, perhaps unless you get there early and can secure outside seating, plan to be inside for the duration of your visit. I don't have anything else to add, really. This is a cool place, but I usually find myself at bars closer to my house and that are a little less expensive. Still, I like being here when I have the opportunity. I understand completely, the service is stellar. I ordered coppertail, delirium, and the Oskar Blues Gubna. Delirious and hop gun is always my to go beer. But Gubna with its 10% is beautifully crafted beer. Unfortunately, they don't have food, but for a craft beer in Orlando RR owns the market. It's a very popular establishment. Since they have such a wide variety of beer, there's a beer for everyone. In addition, they also have wine. Their happy hour is 5-7pm. The parking for Redlight Redlight wasnt that great, it's on the street and a very small lot. For a Thurs night, parking was hard to find. I was kind of wary of going to Redlight Redlight at first because it was right across from the Roxy Nightclub (which I detest like none other) but stepping in, the atmosphere was completely different from the one across the street. Inside.... it's a dim, dive-y looking bar. The menu is written in chalk with the featured beers. It's a beer bar, so don't expect any liquor. They accept credit cards now (which I read in the older reviews that they accept cash only in the past) so no worries about stopping by an ATM before heading in. The bartenders were very friendly and were very helpful on suggesting beers if you are unsure what to order. They have a huggggge selection of craft beers on tap and bottle beers. Also, they match each beer to a certain beer glass to get the best taste. On Thursdays, they have live jazz music which I thought was awesome. They stop around midnight or so. The people in the bar also all seemed chill and friendly. Most of the crowd seemed to be in their late 20's or so. None of those silly underage college kids! I'm a fan. :) read more
