My first visit here was okay. Nothing too impressive with very slow service despite the place not being busy. I'm glad that I didn't write a review based on that experience alone. My second visit was very cool with good service. I sat in the meat locker room which provides a more relaxing atmosphere and some privacy to enjoy company. The menu offers a lot of unique drinks, beer on tap, and canned hard cider. A cider will run $4-5 and you can expect ~$10 for a unique drink. Worth it. I like the decor which includes local art and a good music selection. I haven't had the food but have been eyeing the menu for some time. read more

This is my new favorite bar downtown! I had heard good things about the Redlight before but had never been. I had a drink call Ten Bells and it was the best drink I have ever had! It was vodka, earl grey, vanilla bean and egg white. It was frothy, refreshing and had the most wonderful aroma! They also serve grilled cheese which is one of my favorite things to eat. It came to me piping hot and was just oozing cheese! It was amazing! The only complaint I have is that there is no AC in this bar and there is only one bathroom. But the food and the drinks make up for it! read more

Redlight is such a nice spot to get a drink. The setting is a little more intimate and nice, so it's a great spot to catch up with someone (or even go on a date hehe). Their drinks are a little strong, which can be good (bang for your buck). There's a nice big brick wall that has a few plants, and local art up on the walls. The staff were super friendly, fully masked and helpful with questions. Redlight takes the craft of mixing drinks and making food seriously and they're great at it! The Hotel Vegas was delicious - tequila with grapefruit juice and more. The wontons were worth the trip alone! We ordered more immediately! This used to be on my top list of Bellingham establishments, but I think it's time to rethink that honor. We decided to take my partner here Friday August 20th for her 21st birthday after hyping the atmosphere and quality of drinks all day. We sit down, after showing our IDs and vaccination cards, and three of us order our drinks while my partner uses the bathroom. No problem yet. Partner gets back and I get up to use the bathroom, then return to my friends telling me that the server decided that my partner is "too intoxicated to serve", which is absurd considering she had consumed one drink over the past 4 hours, and that had been over an hour prior to arriving at the Redlight. Her eyes were not glossy, she was not being loud, and she could walk straight. Perhaps the only trait of hers that could be interpreted as "overly intoxicated" is the fact that she has social anxiety and can be a little hesitant and indecisive when speaking to folks she doesn't know... especially when they're acting condescending and interrogating her about her soundness of mind and body. If this was the first odd experience of this place that I've heard of, I might be a bit more cheritable in my review, writing it off as just an odd turn of events. But I've heard stories similar to our experience, both from friends and from other reviews, which I may have written off as exaggerated, or perhaps a case of not getting the whole story. After this, I'm likely never going back. Which is a shame, considering they do have creative and delicious drinks, a dark and chill atmosphere, and at least a few of their bartenders are stellar. read more

This is the first place we found when we moved to Bellingham, and the drinks, food, and service keep us coming back. The cocktails are thoughtfully made and always delicious. The food is phenomenal. My partner loves their bowls, but each time we go I always get the dumplings. They're perfection, and the sauce is the bomb. The waitstaff are friendly. The drinks are strong. And the atmosphere is speakeasy-esque. We've never had anything here we haven't been totally impressed with. read more

I'm a sucker for white bulb lights - which is basically what stood out to me from the road when I drove down State and past the Redlight. Bulb lights = automatically have to check it out. My girlfriend and I stopped in for a wine night and were blown away! We love the hip space - the tall ceilings with brick walls, local and changing art, and good selection. Shea, the owner, talked me into trying the house tempranillo (which I don't normally like since they're often times very spicy) which I enjoyed! Make sure to check out their Facebook - there seems to always be live music, a dj, or some sort of entertainment. I haven't had an entree yet but I have to say - they have the best cheese and fruit platter in town. I love the selection - multiple cheeses, grapes, pistachios, and bread of course....delish! read more

I have visited twice now, once on a Thursday, once on a Friday. Both nights were surprisingly busy and also surprising, was staffed by only one person each night. Redlight is a cool little bar, there is seating for about 35, and a cool menu with handmade cocktails, and interesting beer, and wine choices. We have enjoyed the fruit and cheese boards that also include some cured meats and nuts. The drinks are expertly made and tasty. The wine I have had is tasty and appreciate that they offer varied choices. We like this little bar. It is in a cool space (a early 20th century storefront) and, on our second visit, a very cool local band played (there was no cover for the entertainment). We have enjoyed ourselves a great deal when we visit the Redlight and will return again. read more

A fine, versatile, low key bar with exceptional cocktail creations. Wonderful happy hour (discounts on drinks, wine, etc and free snacks), and "industry night" Thursday, where there is a further discount for service industry professionals. Happy hour has $5 off bottles of wine, and I highly recommend any French bottle on the red list. Their infusions and innovative, rotating drink menu are big high points of RL. Be brave here, and it will really pay off. (The best French 75 I've ever tasted came from this bar.) Interesting seating options- tables, benches and, as I dub it, the red room. Often come here with groups of friends to play cards. It's a marvelous spot for a pre-show drink or a date too. Funky and charming. Be prepared to give parking (state street) a few extra minutes and consider parking uphill a touch. read more

Best craft cocktails in Bham. The Ten Bells is otherworldly. They change the drink menu to fit the seasons, but their classics are consistently good. I was the only one in my group of 4 who preferred beer and while a good selection of cans/bottles- just 2 taps. I was not disappointed though. Sampled and then enjoyed a great local IPA and me friends all were digging the "Blonde Redhead". It was a freaking delicious mix of lemon and strawberry with vodka...The vibe was chill. Music a perfect volume so we could still actually talk. The bartenders were so attentive and nice. No pretentiousness at all and that's super appreciated. From the moment I first walked into Redlight, I knew this was my kind of place and I have a great experience every time I go back. Somewhat fancy and well decorated, but still cozy and relaxed. Classy, yet also a little bit rock and roll. You usually find the owners behind the bar and they're always friendly and inviting. The beer/wine/cocktail/liquor selection isn't overwhelming and cuts right down to the best choices for the price. They have delicious infused liquors. The cocktails are named after song titles, kudos to you if you recognize them all :) The cheese and meat plates are fantastic and you can't go wrong. But you should really go for one of the sandwiches, they're DELICIOUS and come with a really nice side salad. This is the perfect place for a first date, to do some reading with a glass of wine, or an after work drink with friends. read more
