Perfect little coffee shop and roaster on beautiful Hingham Harbor. The owner, Bob, has a real passion and knowledge of coffee and it truly shows in his small-batch roasted artisinal coffee. The origin of the beans are selected according to what style of coffee he is going to roast, it's always fresh, and the flavors that come out of the cup are far-far superior to that cheap K-crap or multiple-month old coffee in your own kitchen cabinet ! The coffee on tap is always rotating so you can experience a fruity-acidic medium roast one day and a nutty-smokey dark roast on another day. If you only like one big chain brand of unidentified beans, then come here to get educated and enjoy the chill vibe and maybe a delicious pressed panini (and throw in a coffee cake muffin too). read more

I agree with the other reviewers. Phenomenal coffee. I had the ice coffee and it was terrific. Very strong smooth and flavorful. They only sell one size ice coffee which was a bit small for me, but still incredibly tasty an flavorful. They did not have many baked goods when I was there which is somewhat disappointing because I like to get a cookie with my afternoon coffee or a muffin top in the morning. I would put this at number two on my all time coffee shop list behind Boston common common coffee co in Boston solely because Boston has better baked goods. read more

I was telling everyone how wonderful it was, when a friend whom I share a love of stone n skillet english muffins, told me they serve their breakfast sandwiches on them! After nearly a year of sipping the slowly rotating selection of coffees at Redeye, it remains one of the best coffee houses around and certainly the best of the South Coast. The estate coffees are each distinct and the skillful roasting brings out the different flavor profiles. Loved the vibe in here! I was only able to stop in briefly since I'm here for a crossfit certification course for the weekend and had stopped there on my way this mornjng. I had a failed attempt at using the coffeemaker (which I brought my own coffee grounds for) at the hotel I'm staying at. I'm very particular with my morning joe, Redeye satisfied my soul. I always drink half caff style, so I asked them if they could do a combo for me. They referenced they actual had a legitimate half caff option brewed Americano style....GAME CHANGER! The blend was so smooth. It kind of made me wish I lived closer. Needless to say I'll be stopping in tomorrow morning as well since I will be in the area for one more day. Due to a work situation, my commute had to change for about a week. The bad news: my drive to work went from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. The good news: my temporarily extended commute took me past Redeye Roasters, where I stopped for my coffee every morning. Thing is, I would rather take the 90 minute commute with Red Eye Roasters than the 60 minute commute without it. But the best is going here on days off, where there are plenty of places to sit, relax and really enjoy a latte or a cortado. Taking it out by the water on a nice day is cool too. The classic LPs up on the wall are a nice touch. I like this place. read more

Delightful! I stopped in on a recent Sunday morning and was so pleasantly surprised. The two employees were very friendly. I got a great cup of coffee and a wonderful ham and cheese croissant. They had only a few options for food (some croissants, muffins, scones) that I expect they get from somewhere else but they all looked very fresh. The interior is very comfortable and cozy and looks out right onto Hingham Harbor. Next time I go, I will try their 'pour over' as I bet they would do it right. read more

I hadn't realize what a difference it would make to have fresh locally roasted coffee until Redeye Roasters brought their magic beans to Foodies. I confess that I do not make good coffee. in fact, until now, i have made horrible coffee. i have tried everything and finally found a coffee even I cannot ruin. Absolutely delicious, offering the ultimate coffee pleasure: tastes as good as it smells. I have no particular favorite among their offerings: what' s nice are the accurate descriptions on the shelves. What's not nice is the permanently sealed bag. They tell me Whole Foods insists on the Fort-Knox-inspired closure, but I need to get the beans into the store grinder right now! read more

I just wanted to update my previous review, since I recently came here for a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and it was excellent! Although the egg was prepared, as opposed to skillet fried, the quality of it, and the sausage and cheese were all quite good. It also comes on a nice hearty artisan English muffin. When the sandwich was served, it was so hot, I actually had to wait about five minutes before I could even pick it up. It had a light flavor, but not bland and tasteless. This was probably the best breakfast sandwich that I've ever had from a coffee shop! Of course, the coffee and drinks are on par with what you would get in a good coffee shop in Boston. This is the best coffee shop I know of on the South Shore. read more

I was visiting Hingham from out of town, and my favorite thing to do is try out local coffee spots. Unfortunately we were crunched for time to get to the airport, but I was determined to stop at Redeye based off of a recommendation from a local. Upon walking in, it is an absolutely adorable location and great menu offerings. Be warned. There are certain menu offerings that they refuse to allow you to take to-go. I am not going to lie, I was extremely frustrated that they would not prepare a cortado to-go, but instead offered up a cappuccino... if I wanted a cappuccino, I would have asked for a cappuccino. 99% of the time I am the person that loves to sit and take in the entire experience at local coffee shops. But, when time doesn't allow, I would still rather grab my favorite drink to-go than bend to the convenience of the Starbucks of the world. The coffee was fantastic. Customer service and willingness to help a tourist out was extremely lacking. read more

If you have a love for the humble little coffee bean - or an outright obsession (like me) for the nectar of the gods - then you have to make a pilgrimage to Redeye Roasters in Hingham. There are many things that make me smile in life but only a handful that make me sway in a hypnotic state of excited anticipation. The moment that Bob (the owner and roastmaster) hands you that demi cup of Bloodshot espresso you are overwhelmed by a feeling of pure bliss. The world is suddenly a better place. Mind you - this is only his espresso :) He also has a gift at making single origin coffees come to life - your coffee cup is just begging to be filled with these tantalizing liquids. An example is his Yirgacheffe from Ethiopia which he likes to serve by French Press. This is a heady coffee with aromas that seem to beckon you to a forbidden place. It's truly an adventure in coffee (life for that matter) when you sit, chat and partake with Bob. You'll catch on right away that if Bob were to have a mistress - coffee would be her name and somehow he's able to channel this passion from Bean to our cup. Make sure to ask about his recent coffee trips to Panama and Costa Rica - very cool stories with some great photo's plus it might just make your coffee experience that much better. As coffee houses go, this place is OK but small. The good qualities are that it's close to the water and it has a comfortable couch to lay on. The staff is nice and friendly but the downside really is their selection of foods and pastries which is severely limited compared to Brewed Awakenings. read more

I hope to spend more time here because it seems like a great operation with fan-f'ing-tastic location. Loved coming here, grabbing a coffee, and parking myself on a bench at the marina. Cever signage. Only complaints: *Wish they offered a bigger size for iced coffee. *Dumpsters against your patio is a bad look. *An even worse look is people using your patio as a smoking lounge. Not sure if they're employees or regulars, but wish they'd have some common courtesy and take it over to the park. I wish them luck and think they'll be do well! read more

My wife and I went here for the first time yesterday afternoon. The coffee and tea are both top-notch, and the price rivals Dunkin' Donuts, so there's really no reason to ever go to a Dunkies again if you live anywhere near this place. We unleashed our one-year-old son in the dining area of this place and he proceeded to roam around chewing a post card and shouting "GAHH!" and nobody seemed to care. This place is good, pricey, but good. I should start off by letting you know that I'm not one of those coffee crazy people, I like espresso, but I'm not overly picky. I'm a Starbucks kind of gal, and I tend to drink the basics there. I think that a passionate coffee drinker would be very happy with Redeye Roasters and would definitely give them a higher rating. I'm a huge tea drinker, and ordered one of their seasonal berry tea's, and was not overly impressed. The flavor was good, but my iced tea had no ice. I think the quality of their ingredients are very good, but the preparation may be lacking in some areas. Customer service was OK. read more

Relaxed atmosphere with a great view of Hingham Harbor and option for outdoor seating. We go in at least once weekly to get beans for at home and I enjoy that opportunity to have a mocha or salted caramel latte. Best baristas in town - they know their coffee and are very friendly. Having read the raves here, I stopped by on a ride back from the beach for a quick iced coffee and was knocked out of my socks (well, sandals) by the deep, rich bean-y flavor. Really, the best iced coffee on the South Shore. A bit pricey at $3 for one size only, but well worth it. Service was great, genuine smiles all around. Cool little sitting area too, although it might be a bit nicer if they got rid of that roped off bean-bag display area and added a few more tables. As the good word spreads about this place, I get the feeling they're gonna need the space. Can't wait to go back to try their hot coffee and maybe pick up some whole beans as well. read more

I especially love the cold brew, which is also a slow drip coffee that is much stronger and more flavorful than traditional iced coffees.
