A few years ago, my parents decided it was time to downsize their property and move closer to us. They both were getting older and wanted less acreage. Although we had a vague idea of what we wanted, we were absolutely in the dark about property valuations and the process of buying and selling. I reached out to friends and family for recommendations and spoke with several agents over the phone. After feeling a bit deflated by not receiving the attention and time that I felt was needed to really determine whether what my parents wanted to do was even possible, we ran across Chris. He was the first (and only) agent we spoke to who was willing to sit down with us and offer TONS of options about how to proceed. After what seemed like a million questions, we ultimately determined we would seek a loan and purchase a property, prior to selling their property, due to several factors in our favor. Again, Chris kept us informed and confident as we proceeded with each step.
One of the major obstacles we had was determining if my parents had enough equity to purchase a new home. Not only did Chris pay for my parents to have an independent appraisal completed before we committed to a purchase, he walked us through our options after it came in lower than we anticipated.
My parents wrote an offer on a house that was priced really well for a neighborhood that they settled on. Although the property had another verbal offer, Chris encouraged us to submit anyway. Not only did we end up getting the house they wanted, they got it at an amazing price. After a very easy and stress free buying process, they signed the final paperwork over lunch and celebrated in style. Chris felt more like an old family friend who was watching out for my parents' best interest than an agent.
Next came the process of selling their home. Chris offered a discount on the commission for both buying and selling through him. Unfortunately, the house listed the day before the stay-at-home order went into effect in Arizona. Not only were my parents already out of the home and able to show it as a vacant property, but Chris went out of his way to make the property look its very best. He gave us pointers and had professional photos taken (including drone images) to appeal to the target audience.
We decided to list much higher than the appraisal we received, after additional information and research, and still received two offers. We ended up closing on the property after accepting an offer for over list price. All along the process, he offered many options, and offered his opinion when we were unsure. He was absolutely the best and most amazing agent to guide us through an incredibly stressful and unprecedented challenge of a global pandemic.
I would not hesitate to recommend Chris to any and all people looking to buy or sell their property. Even if you aren't sure about how it all will play out, Chris is there to answer questions and guide you. We never felt pressured and always felt like he was looking out for us, rather than himself.
Not only is Chris an amazing agent, knowledgeable and thorough, but he is equally smart, confident, and trustworthy. I have not come across many people in my life who I find to be as ethical as Chris. He's simply just a good person, and his entire business is based on doing what is right for his client.
