Right after I closed and moved in, the water heater wan't working properly and I was stuck taking cold showers. After doing some of my own troubleshooting, I reached out to Nick and he called me within minutes of me sending the message. We talked for a few minutes and he reached out to the seller to see if they could help out and remedy the issue. I have bought and sold homes at least 20 times, including some for sale by owner deals. I see now that a Realtor earns their money by not only doing the mechanics of the showings and sale contracts, but also invaluably in keeping good relations and continued dialogue between buyer and seller. Buying a home is an emotional process and with an unskilled Realtor, you could end up either paying more or having your deal collapse with bad feelings on both sides. I called my son, Nick Ptak, to represent me. (Previously I was either out of state or he was not yet a Realtor).
