I was staying in the Manor House and it was lovely, well decorated and comfortable. I ate in the restaurant that evening which was nice food at a decent price (for a hotel) with their 2 courses for £25. I had steak which meant there was a supplement to pay but it was worth it. I would happily go back there with my wife as there was plenty to do with a gym and swimming pool plus set in lovely grounds.

Very close to Xscape, so it's convenient for dinner when I'm on business trips, I've never tried the hotel restaurant because of this. Check in/out is usually quick and hassle free. The staff are also helpful and friendly. Breakfast is quite good with full English and continental available. I noticed that they have pancakes on my most recent trip but couldn't find any syrup to put on them. They also have bagels and crumpets. The hotel is right next to a railway station (Glasshoughton) so it's quite easy to get to Leeds. My only negative point is that the sliding bathroom door in some rooms is very difficult to use.

However, it was still a good curry and I made sure to get it all down. It was nice and creamy and the chicken was tender. I believe it was about £8 or £9. There is a charge for the poppadams as we later noticed on our bill, I think it was about £1-something. I split an order of rice with my partner to complement our curries and we each ordered a naan. Naans were nicely baked and fluffy. I had some tap water and my partner had a pint of Kingfisher which was about £4. He ordered a balti and said it was tasty, and I could see that he was serious because the entire plate was empty when I looked up. Service was great, the waiters picked up on my foreign-ness and made conversation with us, which I thought was nice. It's always a better dining experience when you have a little chat with your waiters/waitresses. The place wasn't really that busy, but it was only like 7:30 p.m. when we headed out, so maybe it gets a little busier after that.

It is a few…read morehundred yards from the M62 motorway, making an ideal stop-over for overnight travellers, people seeking to take a break from motorway driving - with food and drink at below motorway service station pricing, or just those looking for a good day or night out. There is an outside area, with table and chairs and tons of parking for both pub and motel users. Many of the rooms are being refurbished during 2008, improving the quality and comfort for guests. The pub also offers rental for private functions, and has reduced motel rates for guests, preventing drinking and driving. There are 2 main bar areas, with a similar ambience, as well as facilities such as pool tables, slot machines and dining areas. This is a friendly comfortable place to visit, and the staff have been extremely friendly and helpful on each of my trips. The regulars are similar, and it's easy to get into conversation with others. My tip if staying overnight is to negotiate on room prices, as well as get a rennovated rooms. The benefit of it being a motel, rather than a hotel is that it's possible to park your car close to, if not outside your room. There's good security in the car park and vicinity and my family have always felt safe there.
