They are so helpful, friendly, smiling and very professional. Whenever you are there you should try Chino Latino restaurant - the best food I have ever had in my life! Maybe the hotel does have the stains on the carpets in the rooms and in the hall ways, but it doesn't really matter for me since the bed I am sleeping in is always comfortable.

I returned to the DoubleTree by Hilton Leeds City Centre in January 2024, my first time returning…read moreto the hotel since my previous review. Despite being a Diamond Member, I was not able to be upgraded to a suite on this occasion. Fair enough, they were busy and must have sold out but the difference between a suite and regular or Deluxe room at the hotel seems to be too large. Starting with the positives, the location is great, as it ever was, it's right in the city centre, it's so close to Leeds Station that you can see the trains and platforms from your window, and the noise-proofing from outside is good meaning you shouldn't be disturbed by the noise from the train. The staff here are also super friendly and were helpful with any requests that I did have, including granting a late 2 PM check-out. The king-size bed was also very comfortable, and the pillows were as good as ever, unlike some Hilton-branded properties which seem to have downgraded their pillows. I stayed in a King Deluxe Room on this occasion, I was on the 10th floor, and I managed to get a room on the corner, so the view should have been great, although the blinds restricted this, it was a double curtain but there was no string to open and close them, so it would constantly get caught around the corner, they would have been much better having two smaller blinds for each window, with a string for each. The room was a little basic and ordinary, it looked pretty much the same as other rooms I've stayed in at other properties such as the Doubletree at Manchester Piccadilly and Hilton Garden Inn at Birmingham Brindleyplace. The facilities inside the room had pretty much the basic essentials such as a desk, kettle and fridge. There wasn't a coffee machine and the TV was wall mounted so I couldn't connect my fire stick. The bedside tables were tiny and didn't give me enough storage space. While there was a small coffee table, the seats weren't too comfortable and there wasn't a comfortable place to sit, with a choice of hard chairs or the bed. There was only one bed-side plug socket which was very low down on one side of the bed only, and I had to unplug the alarm. There was no USB charging. The air conditioning was particularly loud, due to the cold Winter weather that we're currently facing in England, I had to have the heating on full, but the noise in the room would be between 50 and 60 DB for the heating alone, so it'd be impossible to sleep with it on. It also took a little while to get hot water from the bathroom, which could be down to being on the 10th floor which is the highest floor of rooms out of the 13 at the hotel. If you're staying at the hotel, you should also be aware of the ongoing work inside the hotel, this was not warned to me at any time, meaning at 9 am, I was woken up by loud banging on my floor with a hammer, which turned into of drilling, not too long after - again I get they have to work on the floors, and the rooms could do with a slight refit to bring them into 2024, but why isn't this being informed to guests at the point of booking or check-in? Guests at the hotel should also be aware of a £50 card hold placed on the card when checking in, this was annoying for me as I only have a debit card and it always seems to take 30 days to reverse meaning I can't use the funds in the meantime. I find it so unnecessary. 3* - Comfortable beds in a great location with fantastic service but everything else falls short. I would consider returning to the hotel again, but I'd wait for the construction to finish and probably just pay the fee to upgrade to a suite, rather than relying on a free availability-based upgrade as a Diamond Member.

Upon check in they give you a freshly baked cookie. Yummy! They also have umbrellas to rent as it does rain a lot. I had a king room which was a nice size. The bathroom is a little small but the shower head is great. Great big bath towels too. I would say they should offer a non slip mat that you can lay on the shower floor. What they have currently isn't gripping enough if you use a lot of soap or shampoo etc. I was slipping and sliding. They do have good bathroom amenities like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap and shower gel. All Crabtree & Evelyn. Shower cap too. So no need to bring those things if you don't want to. A nice addition would be robes. Just to make your feel extra snuggly and special. My room was also fully equipped with an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, tea kettle, teas, coffee, milk, sugar, mugs, glasses and spoons. A nice mini fridge with two bottles of water inside. Also very good air conditioning. Nice flat screen tv with loads of channels. A table and chairs. Also very nice room service. The bed is good, but the pillows are great! I went as far as to get the name and I've already ordered two! I couldn't give 5 stars because they have cards in the room that state how we should be aware of not being too loud and keeping the noise to a minimum. No loud talking in the hall and keep the tv low etc. But every single day I was there (3 days) the housekeeping staff slam the doors non stop. They start pretty early and it is loud and disturbing if you're trying to sleep. The other noise factor is the Sky Bar which I believe is on the top floor - so if you're on one of the top floors like I was, you're going to get some noise bleed. But all in all, I recommend this hotel. It's near everything, as soon as you step outside. I would definitely stay here again. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

They were welcoming and as friendly as I remembered them from 1972. Booking in was so good My bags were carried upstairs and i was wished good night. I watched tv for half an hour then settled in the cosy bed with pretty flowered bedding. I slept through till 7. A rarity for me. I was even offered another pot of tea in case the other was cold. They took time to have a conversation when I said I used to buy ham salami and cheese from them. I Mentioned my favourite sweets too. I then went back to bed for half an hour. The other staff were as friendly as the owners. They allowed me to watch tv and charge my phone in the lounge though it was past checking out time. The location is fabulous, a short walk or cab ride from the train station and right at the heart of good shopping and eating and residence at the hotel gives you access to the gym at The Light. In terms of refreshments there are options for eating and drinking in your room or at the hotel bar and restaurant, I've found both options to be perfectly good, although if you have the time please venture further afield!

The hotel is in the heart of Leeds making it perfect for exploring the city. Although it was very busy, the check in was good, fast and efficient and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had was small but very classy and had everything we needed. It was stylishly decorated and very clean and tidy with all the usual facilities you expect. There was a mini bar which as per usual was ridiculously overpriced so we steered clear! After having a lovely meal in Leeds we came back and sat in the bar and had a few drinks. Once again, the staff were happy and friendly and mad sure we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast the next morning was very nice. I can recommend this hotel for anyone stayin for either business or pleasure and should we go to Leeds again I would definately choose the Radisson.

Bed was comfortable and the wifi is very fast. No complaints. The gym had lots of dumbbells and free weights with treadmills. Perfect for my 30 min workout. The breakfast buffet was quite large where you can make your own English breakfast. Lots of pastries and juices to pick from too. Happy it had smoked salmon too. Take the south exit from Leeds station to Neville and the hotel is literally right there. 3 min walk tops. About 5 min walk to many pubs and restaurants too. Good stay at this Hilton!

I decided to return to the Hilton Leeds City, around two years after my previous stay here. I had a…read moremixed experience overall, but I did have a better experience than my last stay, hence the improved rating to three stars. Location 9/10: It is located right outside the train station, and a couple of minutes walk away from Leeds city centre. Service 7/10: The staff here seemed very friendly and happy to help, I did have many issues during my stay, which they addressed to the best of their ability, even though some of their arrangements weren't convenient for me, they did try their best. I was also offered a rather generous late check-out at 2 pm. For example - There are no mini-fridges in the room, they did offer to keep my milk in a fridge at Reception, but this isn't an ideal situation, especially during the hot summer, where I would prefer to keep drinks in my room fridge, to keep them cool. - I did have issues with the "Message the Hotel" via the stay, at one point it was unavailable completely, it was also hard to get through to the hotel via phone at times, sometimes they just wouldn't pick up. - I had another problem using my Digital Key in the lift, perhaps this was linked to the other problem via the Hilton Honors app, I had to request a physical key-card. Comfort 6/10: I did find the Suit to be a little outdated in terms of the decor, I found the colour scheme of the room to be a little dark and gloomy, so I did have to request an extra lamp from Reception, this was made a little difficult as I already found there to be a lack of plug sockets around the room, made worse again by an EU plug socket (I'd much rather the hotel had adapters / USB charging, as that means everyone can use them, rather than rendering a bed-side plug socket useful for me) The bed was obviously comfortable and the usual Hilton standard, and I did manage to get a good nights sleep, there was some noise from outside, even though I was on the tenth floor and some cleaning noises, but nothing out of the ordinary for MOST hotels. I really didn't like the double blinds/windows in the room, I found the blinds especially hard to open/close, and there was a gap meaning it wouldn't get completely dark in the room when I was trying to sleep. Amenities 4/10: On my previous stay, the suit had free bathrobes and slippers, however, they have now charged them at £35 which I find to be very expensive. I think it is also a shame that they don't have an Executive Lounge for a main city centre hotel, as they do in other cities. Food and Beverage 5/10: I did have some difficulty getting through to Room Service, it felt like as they were within the last half hour of offering food, they were just ignoring the phone and counting down the clock, I did eventually get through and I ordered a Chicken Tikka (one of the limited gluten-free options as they didn't have sandwiches), while the curry was nice, the rice was hard and all stuck together and sadly the chips were not gluten-free due to being fried in the same oil (Lazy, especially for Hilton). It was very overpriced at £14.50 + £5 tray charge, but I had little option but to eat it during the time of night. Breakfast does end pretty early at 10 am, I was originally told this was 9:40 due to the time-slots, meaning the last orders are at that time so if you're not in the restaurant at 9:40 you likely wouldn't get served. I did ask about it being delivered to my room, it seemed like a complicated process where I'd receive a call, and they'd take my order, I wish they had an option to fill it in and hang it on the door etc. I decided not to wake up for breakfast on this occasion. Cleanliness 7/10: The room was mostly clean, I did notice a couple of stains on the sofa, I don't even want to imagine what they were. Other: The price was fairly good considering the quality of the hotel. I would stay here again if I had to visit Leeds, but the hotel for me is crying out in need of refurbishment and is pretty dated. Many of the employees did seem to be going above and beyond to help, despite limitations which meant on some occasions I was not happy with the hotel policy. The reception is located on the third floor was a little strange, but the area was made pretty nice and also includes the Breakfast/Bar area. I was placed on the VIP list after my previous experience, but I actually feel I did not benefit from this, I got the same room type as my previous stay, without the free wine / bath-robes, so in the end, I felt less of a VIP on this occasion! I had to require maintenance during my stay as my room would not lock, which meant that I had to stay in the room for a good 20-30 minutes while he drilled and changed the lock when I wanted to head out. If I would have left the room without checking it was locked, I could have had my high-value possessions stolen which is a serious issue. 3* - Comfortable hotel with good service but obviously outdated.

The one gentleman shook all of our hands as we left which was so nice. We had breakfast at the Rise twice, very good, and dinner once, which was good though only as one server was working our side of the busy dining room, it was slow. We stayed in the modern wing in a family room which was spacious and lovely. In terms of negatives, the mattress was hard and lumpy, and there was the only one small hook to hang towels and robes, so not much room for our party of three. I mention this because the Grand has a sustainability focus and encourages guests to re-use towels, which we did: more hooks are needed. The reading lamps on the headboard did not work. The major problem we had was the temperature of our room: the thermostat read 16 but it was more like 20; too warm for sleeping. I called down to reception and concierge and there was no answer - multiple times - I think perhaps the phones were malfunctioning. I reached an operator who said she'd leave a note as she was leaving in five minutes. I went down to the front desk and the staff member told me she could adjust it from a control panel in the lobby (?), however, the room stayed too warm. This definitely took away from the experience as I didn't sleep well and expected better from a five star hotel. Lastly, and this is small, but the greenery out front (topiaries and flowers) and in the hallways are plastic, again, not five star. For a hotel focused on sustainability, natural plants would be much more suitable.
