This is a little gem hidden on the outskirts of Doncaster. Both for the food and bar as well as the accommodation.
This is a b&b with a pub attached. On my search for accommodation in Doncaster it seemed to have a lot of hotels but not many small inn's/b&b's.
The bar is nice and well done up, with a back area for parties, or breakfast in the morning. They also do Carvery on a Sunday which packs out the place.
The food is good at a very good price. They have a wide selection from Omelettes to Burgers and Bangers & Mash to lamb shank. I tried a whole lot of different dishes for the week I was there and I didn't come across one bad one.
The bar, as far as I am aware, is not owned by a brewery but is supplied by one brewery while at one end of the bar they have 4 cask taps with local/micro brews. These are constantly changing as the cask runs out.
The accommodation is a bit on the basic side but as I only ever really want a bed, shower and internet, which is free, this is perfect for me.
If you need a place to rest your head, and maybe some banter in the bar (reason I don't like hotels) then this is well worth a look in.
BTW: Breakfast is great, it would keep you going until 3 in the day! read more
