I came to this store hoping to leave knowing what size shoe fits best. Because these boots are an investment I wanted to do my due diligence. The man at the counter says he doesn't "show" shoes and instead "sells" them. He would not let me try on any boots in the store and insisted he had a million better things to do. Stopped in today to pick up leather conditioner supplies for a new pair of Red Wings Irish Setter Elk Tracker 880 boots. The owner helped guide me to the right product, Red Wing Shoes All Natural Leather Conditioner. He provided detailed instructions on how best to care for my new boots. While there, I also mentioned that work boots purchased from them several years ago were in need of repair. I happened to have the boots in my car and he offered to make the repair while I waited, even as the store closing time was near. He replaced the missing lace clip and suggested that these boots would benefit from the same conditioning as the new pair. When I asked how much the repair cost would be, he said it was no charge. Even when I pressed to pay something for such excellent service, he refused. I have my eye on a pair of Red Wing Rutmaster 2.0 boots and will definitely return to this store to buy them when the time comes. The location is not all that convenient to me, I found them while traveling to a project location. Its definitely worth the trip for this level of service and expertise. When spending $250+ on a good pair of boots, I want to be thorough in my search. While I found exactly what I was looking for, the customer service was extreme. From the second I walked in to the second I left, I was being sold everything in their store. From laces, to multiple different socks, to multiple different insoles. This was exhausting. As a skilled tradesmen, I have learned what works for me. I don't need some boot store associate telling me what I need. I said that I just need one specific pair of boots multiple times but was still constantly bothered to buy more and more and more items. It Was a frustrating experience. Went there for steel toed shoes and the manager Steve Mettler had absolutely zero customer service and was rude and impatient. I asked if he could look me up in the system since I have been a redwing customer for years and he seemed annoyed to do this. His attitude was condescending and rude and this location, and Redwing just lost a customer. I have to give 1star, but I would give zero if I could!! read more

Very unhappy and am taking back my previously written positive review after my experience today. Came in today to exchange a pair of boots less than 1 week old, turns out this retailer doesn't follow return rules as all other real Redwing stores which is one of the perks of this shoe brand. These guys decided to make their own rules and not take back my exchange. Don't go here bc you won't be treated like you should be! I expect to be told of differences in return policy before making the purchase which I was not informed of. Never again and don't make the same mistake I did. read more

An older gentleman helped me find a new pair of work boots. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. My feet were fit using some computer measuring device and he suggested sizing up from there due to a steel toe. I love my boots! Will be going back. read more

Had a great experience at the store. I came from another Red Wing store in the city but because they didn't have my size I made the trip to Arlington Heights after calling and checking to see if they carried 'em in the 1907s. I regret forgetting the gentleman's name at the store but he was beyond dope. Their was some traffic in the store but he took care of everyone as if you were the only customer. He had my shoes ready once I got there, sized me up, and had me out the door in no time. I really appreciated his knowledge and pure excitement about the company after speaking with him about the boots. To put icing on the cake, they offer free shoe cleaning and lace replacements on all Red Wing boots bought at the store for the life of the boots! Definitely worth the drive for me. I purchased a pair of red wing boots from this location around September of last year. Since then they have replaced shoes laces, clips, and cleaned the boot for me for free! Today i walked in to asked them about cracks on the bottom of the shoe that i was concerned about. They went ahead and replaced of for me under warranty no questions asked! I didn't even expect them to replace them i just asked to see if it would be a problem. I was very happy with there service and i will be only buying shoes from this store from now on. Not only are they the best shoes i have ever owned, the also have the best customer service out of any place i have been too. I would highly recommend this shop. read more

I had some work boots re-soled here. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get them back (because they have to send them out). No problem, I understand that. We bought some of their in-soles because feet have been hurting. The manager, Keith, who assisted us was very professional (he knows his stuff!) He went out of his way to make a tough situation better. I will go back to this store in the future (even though it's not the most convenient location for where I live) for repairs as well as future purchases.
