Monty does a fabulous job with anything he undertakes. Wonderful Customer Service. All my printing goes to Monty!

Monty was really great at getting back to me when I had questions in a timely manner. He shared options that would save me money, even if that meant he made less money from me. He went the extra mile to make my event special. I highly recommend checking out Red Tie for printing needs! read more

Several years ago I decided to give Red Tie Printing a try because of all the Positive reviews on Yelp. Those reviews were ALL TRUE! I started bringing my print needs to Monty and haven't looked back since. I have brought him small personal printing projects as well as projects from the company I work for. He is not just a pleasant and honest person, the quality of his work is consistently and dependably OUTSTANDING. And his prices are fair and affordable to boot! read more

I requested a quote for a small job (500 envelopes) and Monty (the owner) refused to quote because I had asked for a quote previously (about a year ago), but never was able to follow up and get the job done. Don't worry Monty, I won't be asking for any more quotes from Red Tie. read more

I needed to have 100 pamphlets printed for a memorial service. Checked Yelp and saw the positive reviews on Red Tie Printing, so I took my job there. When I arrived, a worker was running print jobs and he asked what print service I needed. He said the owner, Monty, was due back shortly from lunch and will help with my request. Monty returned and we talked about my order. He said he has been hesitant to take memorial printing jobs due to difficulties to please all family members. But he was willing to take my job. He took my digital files and used Adobe Illustrator to create the pamphlet. He showed us what he was doing as he put the pamphlet together. He said it's normally $10 for this service, but would charge $5 if we went through with the job. After selecting a paper type, he printed a copy. We checked the print quality and asked for the pictures to be lightened a little. Monty adjusted it and reprinted a copy. We were satisfied with the print and Monty said he would finish the print order now. He said he would do the job now rather than have us come back tomorrow. In less than an hour, we got our job printed and were on our way. Thanks Monty for your help and completing the job in a quick turnaround time. read more

If you are looking for a great local printer, go see Monty at Red Tie -- he is the epitome of fantastic customer service! Our club handbook was completed ahead of schedule and looks great. THANK YOU! read more

Monty is so friendly and kind and goes out of his way to be hospitable and chivalrous, in a time when many can't even spell the word. Not only that, but he's honest, dedicated and does what he says. He's won my business. I always shop locally and prefer to keep my business out of chains and "big box stores". Thanks for allowing me to still do so Monty. read more

Monty always comes through for me with thoughtful service that's also precise and really efficient. His customer service is great. From business cards to promotional materials - Monty has helped me so much. He is why I support my local printer instead of ordering things from a random online service. Thank you, Monty! read more

I had some questions about printing some business cards and wanted to check out some samples as I was undecided on what I wanted. I'm glad that I stopped by and Monty had dozens of options for me to choose from and even made some excellent suggestions on how I could modify parts of the logo in order to get the sharp image that I was looking for. I placed my order and received my cards within 7 business days and the cards were even better than I expected. Very sharp images! I used a velvet coating and am super happy with the results! I'll be back to print the rest of my staff cards soon! Thanks again for the friendly and prompt services! read more

I would highly recommend Monty and Red Tie Printing for anyone that needs fast and economical printing. I came to Monty in need of some business cards. He was very up-front about the positives and negatives of the options he could offer me. I should note that the cardstock he uses for business cards is more of the "standard business card" variety; they didn't offer "unique" or "artistic" cardstocks that might appeal to people working in design. For my purposes (law profession), the cardstock he offered was good enough. More importantly, Monty took the time to do some quick editing of my business card design so that the colors would look as good as possible. Mind you, as far as I know , this is not a design shop so the services he did were just to make me happy (and were free of charge). Needless to say, I was very pleased with the end product. If you want honest, personalized service at a reasonable cost, Red Tie Printing is the place! read more

Wow, I had an incredible experience at Red Tie Printing today! I wanted to get a quote and I left with my flier already printed! I've used other printing businesses from the internet but since the traffic in Alameda has become impossible I thought to give it a try. Thanks "Monty"! read more

I've been coming here for any sorts of copies or printing and was always satisfied. I like Monty's customer service because he cares about his customer's requests. Prices are reasonable! I will make this the only copying place that I will visit from now on and I assure you will never experience disappointment for going here either. read more

Monte is awesome! He helped me print up some lost dog flyers when my baby got lost. He's a dog person and understood that I was distraught and exhausted. He kindly and professionally helped me with my last minute request, and even gave me a paper upgrade at no charge. He also did some special pixel thing to my poor quality photo and made my dog look great. Thanks Monte & Leo (store mascot)! read more

I used Monty to create all the printed collateral for a show: postcards, posters and programs. Monty was incredibly professional and helpful, guiding me through the myriad options involved in printing decisions always with an eye to getting me the best product at the right price. Most printers will quote you a price for exactly what you ask for. If you ask for something that won't meet your needs or made from an unnecessarily expensive material, you are out of luck. Not Monty. Monty went out of his way to guide my decisions to keep costs down even when doing so meant outsourcing the printing work and reducing his margins. All the items looked great and his pricing was extremely competitive. In the production of the items, he showed an extreme attention to detail and every item came out perfect and was ready ahead of schedule. I recommend Monty to anyone who appreciates honesty, integrity and high quality work. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I had a show starting on Saturday and hadn't ordered postcards for it. The order was placed first thing Monday morning, I had postcards in hand by Friday afternoon. The quality was superb. I am so impressed by the level of personal service - Monty goes above and beyond to help you. Even coming in on a Sunday to double check my files. I also had color prints made and laminated. Anyone who has had photographs printed knows that the quality can be hit or miss. I was thrilled with the results. Monty makes you feel like you are family and anything is possible. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Monty IS Red Tie Printing. There's a value in working with the owner of a service-based company, it's a value of competence, knowledge and delivery. I've enjoyed Monty's printing genius for six years but he still amazes me with his sincere business ethics. I had a last-minute (my bad) color copy job, not a big job, but an important job. I bustled in with little time to spare, quickly explained what I needed and was already thinking about the next six things on my to-do list. Monty said, "Let's make this the best we can." The end result was superb, on time and reasonably priced. Monty wanted my product to be the best it could be. Clearly, he was focused on my needs more than I was. I appreciate this level of service, we all do. Don't hesitate to take large and small copy and creation tasks to Red Tie Printing. read more

We needed programs for a memorial with very little turnaround. Red Tie made our design much better and the printing was perfect. Not only were they efficient and did quality work, they were kind and understanding. Take your work to Red Tie! read more

They've been my go-to copying needs since 2008. I just can't deal with big-name brand copying places like Kinko's. I feel like I get ripped off every time. When I had to look up their information again I almost had a heart attack when I couldn't find their business. I forgot they switched their business name to red tie printing. Great service then still great service now after 6 years! Affordable, kick ass customer service, and a great place for any printing needs. read more

I had a small number of invitations and a luncheon program printed up by Red Tie. Monty was incredibly professional, friendly, helpful, you name it, he IS customer service! I didn't know what I was getting into volunteering to have these items printed up for my community organization, and Monty took the time to explain about all my different options in having these jobs done. He helped me with all aspects of my project from recomending formatting, paper types, and other things I had no idea would be factors! And all this advice for what was basically a small job. His turnaround time was very fast, also. I am so glad I went with Red Tie printing and am definitely going to return for any future printing needs. It's great that Alameda has a local print shop with local owner that knows what customer service is about! thank you Red Tie! read more

I had a printing job of about 100 pages that I had to get done quickly. I called around Alameda to get pricing, and Monty was far and away the least expensive. Even the library charges three times more per page than Monty. I send him my printing request via email with attachments and my phone number. Five minutes later, I had a call from Monty. He asked me a few questions to make sure I got what I wanted in a finished product. Then he said it will be ready in 30 minutes. Super fast, super friendly service. Who could ask for anything more? Monty has earned all of my future printing business. read more

Monty is great - helpful, honest, hardworking and up front about the work he can do for you! I came in with a personal portfolio that I had printed at a shop with higher graphic printing abilities, and he was able to bind the work beautifully even though it was a custom size. We met through Alameda Parents Network. Monty is the best ... Quality service and a fair price ...

I really dont like Kinkos, I am never happy with their product or the service that I receive. Because of this, I went looking for an independent printer, I found Red Tie Printing here on yelp, and every review here is spot on. I had some art prints that I wanted done, but I was unsure how to go about it. When I called, Monty answered all of my questions, and gave me advice on how to achieve what I was looking for. When I went into the store his exceptional service continued in person. He showed me all of the paper options I had, and was going to recommend a paper store to buy what I need if he couldnt provide it. After I approved the prints, and he made all the copies that I wanted, he allowed me to cut them myself using his paper cutter. While I was doing this, he received a call and had to run out to handle a family emergency. He allowed me to continue cutting my prints while he was gone. After about 10 minutes he returned and I was ready to pay. He waved the fee entirely and gave me my prints on the house because I briefly watched the store for him. I was shocked and thanked him for his help. If I need any printing work to be done, this is where I will be going. read more

I'd give Red Tie Printing more than 5 stars, if I could! Monty is the heart of the business, and fantastic at what he does! He went above and beyond to help me. I needed hundreds of pages of sheet music scanned in a very short time. And they were all (!) odd-sized and so each page had to be scanned by hand. This is an incredibly tedious task, as I've done it in the past when I had access to the right equipment and takes hours of work to complete. Not only that, but if you aren't vigilant for a second you will lose one or two notes or some symbol that we musicians need to see to play the music well. But his attention to detail was fantastic! I did not give Monty much time to complete it (I was definitely under the gun), but he worked through the night to finish my project. And on top of all of it, his price was very affordable! I can't recommend him highly enough- he is the epitome of great customer service and a job well done. Now that I've worked with Monty I won't go anywhere else! read more

I used Alameda Copy (now, it seems, Red Tie Printing) for my DIY wedding invitations last year. After doing a couple of very simple things at a chain operation and not enjoying it very much, I went looking for a local shop. The guys were very patient, and put up with me and my laptop, even when one evening I shouted "UNCLE" and ran out of the store (I swear I wasn't a Bridezilla but I was feeling a lot of pressure). Their prices were more than fair, and they worked with me to lay out the smaller elements in the most cost-effective way possible. I'll definitely use them the next time I have a job, big or small. read more
