The motel is barely average. Old, small, dated rooms. Squeaky beds. No bathtub. No dressers. Dark, dingy hallways. TV didn't work. The hot tub was nice. Got here fairly late last night. Easy check in. Told us the jacuzzi was open till 10:00 but if we wanted to use it, she will keep it open till 11:00. The rooms are decent size, quaint and a rustic feeling of 20-30 years ago however it appears it has been upgraded and kept up. Reasonable rate and the room was adequate. Bed was comfortable. My friend and I stayed here for 5 days 4 nights for a girls trip. We each got our own room and it was perfect since room is quite small but adequate for one person. I was able to have my bike along with suitcase and other items. The room was clean which was important to me. It had a microwave and small fridge. Little sink by the "kitchen". Housekeeping services were available upon request. I didn't need anything. This place has a jacuzzi, laundry mat which we didn't use. They're also pet friendly. Overall for the price it was decent. $703 for the days I was there. It was at the end of Main Street but very walkable to various restaurants. read more

This inn was amazing! Cute little cabin-like rooms, very cozy. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it! Parking is great, has guest laundry if you need to, the rooms had little kitchenettes and provided dish washing supplies as well as some dishes. Hot tub was incredible, especially after a long drive. First off, I want to say that this place isn't terrible. It's convenient in the aspect that it's dog friendly and it's pretty cheap compared to other hotels in the area. The room itself wasn't awful. You really get what you paid for. The room design fit the necessities of your stay in the space provided. For my family, it was 2 beds, a bathroom, a small kitchenette and a little closet area with a TV on top. The room was cozy with that rustic cabin feel but in some aspects it was cramped. There really isn't a lot of space to put your stuff. If you had luggage in the room it would be hard to find an open space to lay out suitcases. The little closet area can only hold at most, one persons belongings and not even a duffel bag would be able to fit. Only a few hangers are provided to hang your clothes on and only 2 drawers. If you have 2 beds in a room, it wouldn't be realistic to have such little storage space for guests but that's just my opinion. In all honesty, I could have done without the kitchenette area and would have preferred more storage space. The extra sink, fridge and microwave didn't need to have a room dedicated to these items. Now, onto my actual stay, the shower door in my room wouldn't shut but that probably isn't true for everyone but nevertheless, it was very inconvenient when using the shower because water got all over the bathroom floor. Additionally, the bathroom toilet would constantly be on the brink of overflowing and it continuously flush through the night and it was very loud. Like I said, the overall design isn't bad but some design flaws are inconvenient to hotel guests, like the fact that the shower doesn't have any shelves for your shower products. In addition to the lack of shelves in the shower, another design flaw in the hotel room was the fact that the outlets beside the bed were at the door of the bed so if you wanted to charge your electronic devices you could leave them there at the edge of your bed to wait for them to charge and risk kicking them off at night onto the hard tile floor or you could just change the orientation of how you sleep. This may seem nitpicky but in comparison to other hotels where you have outlets right by the bedside table and installed in bedside lamps, the difference is noticeable. read more

The Red Stone inn was charming and in an excellent location, right downtown Moab. Lots of choices for shopping and dining and just 15 minutes from Arches. Dog friendly hotel!!!!! We're one of those people that brought our "kids" with us on vacation so we had to find a place that allows pets. $10 pet fee. The rooms are a little smaller, but it worked for us. Shower, sink, microwave, coffee & pot (and cups), TV, mini fridge, window unit a/c, small safe in closet, and free Wi-Fi The room was clean and comfortable. If you enjoy rustic feel, you definitely get that here. This place was comfortable, affordable, and within walking distance from many restaurants and gas stations/convenient stores. We were able to walk to all the restaurants we went to and the stores as well. read more

Our friend booked this hotel. It has kitchens, but the rooms are dusty and tiny. The TV was up at the ceiling at a strange angle. The bedspreads and linens were very old, and those are easy to replace. The hot tub has all kinds of no diaper, and no dogs in the hot tub warnings- not really a reflection of the hotel but of the guests that repeat book here? From my experience this was another one and done non repeat stay experiences. My partner jokes this happens a lot to keep people from wanting to stay longer in Moab/nice places, but I think it' laziness and greed. read more

If you are traveling with a pet this is definitely not the place for you. I made my reservation in the morning, & when I arrived I was made to sign the most draconian pet policy I have ever seen, one that would allow the management to enter my room & take my dog to a shelter if they so desired. When I protested I was greeted with a diatribe and rudely dismissed. Come to think of it, this is not the place for you whether or not you have a pet. When a manager can't have at least a polite conversation with a disgruntled guest that's not a place I ever want to stay again. read more

Great price and dog friendly. Room is small but cozy. Room was clean on the surface but smelled strongly like pee when we walked in and caught a termite looking bug. The fact that there was no air on at all probably contributed to that but the room cooled off quickly. Bring air fresheners! The bed was mediocre and squeaking and the sheets aren't the most comfortable, the texture kind of felt like we were sleeping on sand. Really not the best place to sleep but beats the camping we were doing for 5 days prior. Shower had greater water pressure and temperature. read more

A quaint old motel type accommodation. Front desk staff was friendly. It could use updating but overall it was a perfect place to stay for 3 nights while visiting and hiking the national parks. Having a small kitchenette is a plus over basic hotel rooms. The location is good, walkable to Moab Brewery, and if your not to tired from hiking or to hot you can walk to the downtown area (we drove the few blocks). The towels are the rough kind (they could replace these easier than the updating of furniture). I really wish all the rooms had easier access to the parking area. The outside is a bit deceiving that the rooms are off the parking area with a potential of sitting outside your unit and having access to your car, instead each building is entered from the ends and houses several rooms. They need to add key card access to the buildings! It has a laundry facility which is a plus when hiking for several days in 90+ temperatures. The hot tub might be good if cooler temperatures and not during Covid. Overall an enjoyable stay in between our tent camping nights. read more

I got a package deal direct from their website: $173 pp for two nights with an adventure. I chose whitewater rafting from Adrift Adventures (don't choose this, you sit in this oversized floatie with your butt hanging out holding on to a rope. You don't actually get a paddle. Only the poor dude, aka "river guide", paddles. Choose the Jeep one or horseback riding. Plus, the "whitewater rafting" for four hours is only $52 bucks anyways). But those are just tips. All this is not included when I think of the A-OK rating for this place. 5 stars for the location. Close to everything - right across the street from the best new York pizza joint I've ever had: Paradox Pizza. 5 stars for Cathy, who is sweetest on the phone. She actually says things in a very soothing, sing-songy voice like "Ok, Astrid! We'll see you tomorrow." Two stars for the lady who actually checked us in because she will do anything at any cost to not make eye contact. She does answer and she is civil. But it makes me uncomfortable when ppl seem they have pent up anger. You are in customer service, make a smile part of your uniform, please. The room was.. hmm.. mine actually smelled like dirty socks. But at least they're not trying to cover that up with tons of chemical scents. And right before this, I was listening to NPR, about how there's a trend now about ppl living in tiny small spaces. Teeny tiny small. I go into the room, and I'm like huhhh.. this is what that feels like. The room had a nook for a small fridge. They did provide plates. I didn't wanna stay in there any longer than I had to, because of the smell and the feeling of being cooped up in a pine colored casket. So good incentive to get up early and do stuff. The shower was good. They also provide Whole Foods quality soap. My husband said I'm not allowed to book hotels for our trips ever again. read more

We vowed to stay here again next time we are in Moab. The place is no frills, but the pricing is excellent, you get cable TV and we were lucky enough to get the hot tub to ourselves. I've been to Moab roughly 20 times in the last 10-12 years and have stayed at the Redstone all but 3-4 trips. I've spent a total of over 2 months in this hotel over the years. A lot of the other reviewers have nailed it, its no frills, but cheaper compared to a lot of other options in town, and it's smack dab in the middle of everything. The rooms are clean, but not the nicest. You can get a nicer hotel in Moab, no doubt about it, but you're going to pay substantially more. Moab isn't the little town it used to be, it's an international tourist destination and some of the chain hotels charge accordingly. The quaint Redstone more than suits my needs for my time in Moab though. Whatever the reason you visit, biking, wheeling, sightseeing, it works. All you really need in Moab is an air conditioner, bathroom, and a roof. The rest of the time you should be outside enjoying everything the area has to offer. We usually are at the Redstone as a part of a group of 30+ people, and after a long day out on the trail it's a ton of fun to relax at the outdoor patio with some cold ones and put some dinner on the grill. The pool across the street is a great way to cool off in the hot summer heat too. The hot tub is nice when it's not 100bajillion degrees out. Monica and her staff have been great to us over the years, and we will continue to stay at the Redstone for our Moab adventures. For me personally, it's 5 stars for what I'm looking for out of a hotel in Moab. But I get that others may be looking for more, so I dropped it to 4 to fit the general public's expectations a bit better. read more

We stayed here on a road trip the night before visiting Arches National Park, and it was a great experience. We checked in late at night -- the girl at the front desk was incredibly helpful and polite (she was in the middle of watching the Game of Thrones season four finale and was nice enough to not spoil it!). The room was compact, though it had a lot in it -- two full-sized beds and even a kitchenette with clean dishes. Everything about the Inn feels very personal, from the woodsy decor to the copy of a local cowboy legend book they leave in the room (available to purchase at the front desk). Most of all, it was extremely clean. In Moab's high tourist season where it's easy to get ripped off, we felt very lucky to find the reasonably priced Red Stone Inn, thanks to a Frommer's National Parks guide. First time visiting Moab and I came with my boyfriend. We camped a few nights and stayed in another hotel early this week. So far, this I like this way more. We tried the Rustic Inn but they wanted double for less than what the Redstone Inn has. Plus, the worker at Rustic was rude and glared at us the whole time and took five minutes to even come to the desk. We stayed at Apache and it was decent, they have bigger rooms but way loud. Sounded like someone was banging on the floor when someone went up and down the stairs. The Redstone Inn has a little of a small room, but cozy. It has a cabin feel to it. It had a microwave, flat screen t.v. and a frig. There are separate buildings including a 24 hour laundry room. Nice to was your clothes after hiking around the whole day. Not to mention the sweetest welcoming from the person working the desk. She was nice and very helpful exchanging dollars for quarters. All around a great place for a low price. Defiantly will stay here next time we're in town! read more

My fiance, our 2 dogs and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend. It met our needs and the overall experience was good. The cost was inexpensive, the room had everything we needed and the location is convenient. The front desk lady was not particularly pleasant and definitely made it known she was annoyed that we asked for extra pillows. The room was very tiny. Even if i had been there without my dogs, it would still be uncomfortable to walk around the room. However, the room provided the basics such as an iron, a small flat screen TV, hair dryer, dishes, a microwave and a decent sized fridge. We made use of the hot tub briefly, which was quite relaxing after a day of hiking, although it was hard to find a time it wasn't occupied. If you need a place to stay that is cheap but clean, and dog friendly this might be it.. Especially if you plan on spending the majority of your time out of the room doing stuff. read more

I'm not a fan of off chain places and never stay here but it was the only place with a vacancy so we didn't have a choice. The water smelled, the bed was not comfy and I was unable to sleep because of the air conditioner unit ran all night. They didn't have conditioner and no complimentary breakfast which for $90 a night I think is a bit outrageous. read more

This is an old style, rustic, road side motel. It has been kept up very well and has a hot tub which I didn't get to try. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was on the small size for 4 people but adequate, with a microwave and frig. We stayed 2 nights $90 a night for 2 double beds for 4 people. There is a sister motel across the street that has a pool guests can use also, but didn't get the chance to. This motel is within walking distance to "downtown" Moab. There are the standard T shirt, and trinket places, visitor center, restaurants and stores. I would definitely stay here again. read more

In the context of the town we were in, the Inn was more of a four star stay than a two star (hotel rating wise) stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the location, rustic feel, and amenities, especially the hot tub. Guests were friendly. The room was pet friendly as well. We stepped out and left my dog in her crate having dinner for a few minutes while using the spa. She might've whined for a few minutes but calms quickly. I felt like the clerk made it seem like she was louder than what I experience with my doggo, but that was the only issue. If and when I visit Moab again, this will be where I book again. read more

Very utilitarian rooms. No frills, which explains the low price. They have signs about not bringing Coleman stoves and fuel into the rooms, and a note to wash your own dishes before checkout. The rugs in the room are commercial floor mats, like you would find in front of the grocery store when it rains. I'm guessing they get a lot of outdoor adventure tour groups that make these things necessary. If you're in a room close to the road you will hear some road noise. About 10 minutes after we checked in, the front desk person came into our room, without knocking! (She used a key card.) I was using the restroom, and my child was alone in the room, and very freaked out by a stranger entering the hotel room! I heard another voice in the room, and you can imagine the moment of alarm that set in when I realized there was someone out there with my kid! She explained that she was there to get the unnecessary rollaway bed out of our room, and she expected that we would be at dinner. She should have knocked before barging in. read more

We stayed at the Red Stone Inn for the first week of October (10/7/10 thru 10/13/10) while visiting the National Parks. The rooms aren't huge, but are plenty big enough for 2. The kitchenette (microwave and refrigerator) is a plus. We didn't use the microwave but stocked up the fridge with snacks for our hikes. We didn't use the hot tub or picnic/barbecue area but it was nice that it was available. The Inn is conveniently located and is walking distance to downtown Moab and all that it offers. We had a great cleaning person while we were there - thank you Joyce for the extra pillow :-). I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Moab. read more

I was a little surprised at the first impression of the hotel as it was an old cabin looking string of rooms all on one level. It was different but cute. The checkin was easy and friendly. Think twice before staying here. The rooms are very small and DIRTY. The bathroom was disgusting and the floor was sticky, we had to walk on towels. Has a small kitchenette and the faucet fell of when we tried to turn the water on. We were on an extended trip and this property was the most expensive out of all 3 we stayed in and it was the crummiest and the most expensive. The housekeepers came into the room and took the trash, did not leave trash can liners, did not make the beds and we had to go to the office to get coffee and the they were rude when we told them about our problems. If you're going to Moab to hang out in a hotel, then go elsewhere. If you want a friendly, clean, somewhat small, place to crash with your canine, this is a great affordable option. The hotel is walking distance to beer and good food and a grocery store with a starbucks and also close to the slick rock trail. There is a whole section dedicated to dogs. Noisy. Seriously noisy if you are anywhere near the office, and let me tell you, THEY DON'T CARE! I went out at 9:46 pm to see what the racket was in the office and see if I could change rooms becauae this room was noisy. The woman making all the noise talking to the desk clerk told me it would probably get quiet in a little while because people would be going to bed pretty soon--like she wasn't the one making all the noise! Unbelievable. Stay at the campground. It is SO much quieter!!! Or plan on going to bed late and getting up late, but don't expext to be able to get up and see the sunrise! read more
