I have an AirTouch technique in my hair, and since the salon does not offer AirTouch services, I wanted to confirm in advance that we could achieve a similar look using balayage or highlights. I was assured we could proceed. At the appointment, I waited a bit (which I understand happens in Miami). Once seated, the stylist examined my hair carefully and suggested doing a half head of highlights first to see how my fine, chemically damaged hair would react. I appreciated the caution and explained my previous negative experience with another stylist. When I left the salon, I was happy. The result wasn't identical to my inspiration photos, but I felt good about it. However, after washing my hair once, I noticed obvious orange foil spots and poorly blended areas near my ears. I immediately contacted the salon, and to their credit, they accommodated me the next day for a correction. Unfortunately, the solution offered was to darken my roots to cover the orange spots. This left me questioning why I paid $450 to lighten my roots, only to have them darkened again. Now, just a little over two weeks later, my hair already looks grown out because of the darker roots. For the price point and reputation of this salon, I expected better execution and a longer-lasting result. I truly wanted to love the experience, but overall, I'm very disappointed.

I showed Tomy pics of what I wanted and he insisted that the color I wanted would wash me out and that I would not be happy with the maintenance since I wanted low maintenance. Initially, I was disheartened but I can appreciate his honesty and after he explained what he thought would work better for me yet achieve something close to what I was looking for. I thought I came in for a consult but he worked me in between his clients so that he could show me what he could achieve yet still make me happy. Mind you, the salon was super busy but the man is a multitasking genius! He did a toner and root scrape while Markie did my haircut and Yasleen did my blowout. Did I mention that my color was a disaster? Well, 2 hours later, what was flat and orange and 3 different colors was now bright, golden and well blended. My dark roots melted into the blond so seamlessly, you would think Michelangelo painted it himself. I absolutely love the results!

My hair was making me miserable - it was flat, looked oily, dull, etc. So I had decided to chop it all off and mentioned on the phone that I might want some color to which she said no problem and that we would discuss once I saw her. Now, overall I enjoyed my experience. I really appreciated the fact that she was willing to accomodate my wishes and color my hair last minute (after we chopped my hair off). Now, I had just colored my hair black about 3 weeks prior and didnt want a crazy color change just some added dimension with a color we agreed was "mushroom"/ashy brown. She said she would let me know if my hair was lifting okay (I did not want brassy blonde in my hair). After some time passed she said it would be okay. Long story short, I think she overbooked herself from the beginning. She was about 20-30 mins late to take me over to the chair, had someone she was already working on, and had another appointment (came in after me) decide to walk out for 20 minutes while she "finished" working on me. Now with covid happening and given the circumstances I am not complaining about the time and understand businesses need compassion right now. The only issue I have is that I pretty much paid full price, even if it was last minute, for a bit of a rushed result that wasn't entirely what I asked for. Look, the color isn't mushroom and I don't like the way the bangs look. The color on the bangs is brassy, doesn't transition nicely (prob a personal preference thing), and is too much of a contrast from the base color. The blonde on my hair in general looks brassier every day and I knew immediately* after she finished drying my hair that certain parts definitely needed more toning. I did love her coloring technique and again, willingness to go for the look I wanted, she made me feel so much better! I'm giving her 4 stars for a reason! Thank you for that Konstantina. I just could feel her rushing through the last couple of steps which I think led to me not being 100% satisfied given the money I was charged and the time I spent patiently waiting. I can always tell when a hair stylist isnt satisfied with their work when you're the one they don't put up on their instagram that day lol. Moral of the story is to speak up. If I would have said something I'm sure she would have fixed it no problem but I honestly felt bad that she was backed up. I also think as a hair stylist if you know you didnt fully deliver or are rushing you should communicate that to the client and see what the options are. It's the responsibility of the stylist to make sure they have enough time to do what they are agreeing to do for you. I believe she gave me $20 off since it was my first time there so I paid $250 for what I guess is something like a balyage and trim. Overall, I'm happy with the change the color just isn't exactly what I wanted. The bleached hair is dryer than I would like and I'm not happy with the fact that now I'll have to pay more money to have the blonde corrected or toned so early on. Still think she is great! Just wanted to be honest and recommend to not call last minute and to speak up if you need an adjustment on the final product.

Atma is charging luxury salon prices for an experience that increasingly feels anything but luxurious. The entire place has lost the freshness and polish that made it appealing in the first place. Atma does not need a minor refresh. It needs a full intervention, preferably before the place loses whatever glamour it had left.
