I got my hair colored and cut about 3 weeks ago at this salon. She got me in pretty last minute and was on board for what I asked of her. My hair was making me miserable - it was flat, looked oily, dull, etc. So I had decided to chop it all off and mentioned on the phone that I might want some color to which she said no problem and that we would discuss once I saw her. Now, overall I enjoyed my experience. I really appreciated the fact that she was willing to accomodate my wishes and color my hair last minute (after we chopped my hair off). Now, I had just colored my hair black about 3 weeks prior and didnt want a crazy color change just some added dimension with a color we agreed was "mushroom"/ashy brown. She said she would let me know if my hair was lifting okay (I did not want brassy blonde in my hair). After some time passed she said it would be okay. Long story short, I think she overbooked herself from the beginning. She was about 20-30 mins late to take me over to the chair, had someone she was already working on, and had another appointment (came in after me) decide to walk out for 20 minutes while she "finished" working on me. Now with covid happening and given the circumstances I am not complaining about the time and understand businesses need compassion right now. The only issue I have is that I pretty much paid full price, even if it was last minute, for a bit of a rushed result that wasn't entirely what I asked for. Look, the color isn't mushroom and I don't like the way the bangs look. The color on the bangs is brassy, doesn't transition nicely (prob a personal preference thing), and is too much of a contrast from the base color. The blonde on my hair in general looks brassier every day and I knew immediately* after she finished drying my hair that certain parts definitely needed more toning. I did love her coloring technique and again, willingness to go for the look I wanted, she made me feel so much better! I'm giving her 4 stars for a reason! Thank you for that Konstantina. I just could feel her rushing through the last couple of steps which I think led to me not being 100% satisfied given the money I was charged and the time I spent patiently waiting. I can always tell when a hair stylist isnt satisfied with their work when you're the one they don't put up on their instagram that day lol. Moral of the story is to speak up. If I would have said something I'm sure she would have fixed it no problem but I honestly felt bad that she was backed up. I also think as a hair stylist if you know you didnt fully deliver or are rushing you should communicate that to the client and see what the options are. It's the responsibility of the stylist to make sure they have enough time to do what they are agreeing to do for you. I believe she gave me $20 off since it was my first time there so I paid $250 for what I guess is something like a balyage and trim. Overall, I'm happy with the change the color just isn't exactly what I wanted. The bleached hair is dryer than I would like and I'm not happy with the fact that now I'll have to pay more money to have the blonde corrected or toned so early on. Still think she is great! Just wanted to be honest and recommend to not call last minute and to speak up if you need an adjustment on the final product. read more

First of all, where do I begin? I went to Konstantina on a rainy Sunday thinking "Hey! I need a pick me up." She was extremely welcoming upon arriving and so was her cute dog. I was offered a cup of coffee and she talked with me about my "hair vision" aaaand let me start with telling you that I had no idea what to do with my hair! If you're a stylist...I'm sure you know that is the most difficult client lol... I had a color correction done in the past and I knew I wanted change. Konstantina began asking me all the right questions about my hair history, while paying close attention to what I wanted...even though I was not specific. Konstantina has many years in the business and clients from allover the city who come to see her. The facility is new; small but well kept and has good lighting. Clean bathroom and clean sink where my hair was washed, which is a plus for all the germaphobes out there. This woman knows what she's doing with the scissors. She took off four inches of dried up ends and suggested what I should and shouldn't do on my hair based on my texture (which is really cool of her because she could have given in to my bullshit of the "popular" or "on trend" hair cuts vs what actually is working for my hair and what isn't). The deep conditioning treatment she used is totally awesome- my hair feels like silk and feels so much thicker now without the dead ends. Konstantina, the owner was friendly and great at collaborating on what I wanted done to my hair. Groupon costumers be aware that you only have Monday's to come with your Groupon!! 1 Star for costumer service, I called to make an appointment for Saturday to get a haircut and style and conditioner package, spoke to the receptionist she was very nice and set me up with the time I needed until I mentioned I have a groupon everything changed she said I have to come on Monday now that she didn't have any space for me on Saturday, I told her that I didn't see any day restrictions when I got the Groupon and her answer was "you will have only Monday to come with your Groupon if you don't like it cancel it" and hung up the phone. Review for keratin hair treatment. Elani was super nice and explained everything to me which I appreciated! I had asked her to not put as much product on the bottom half of my hair b/c I didn't want my curls to completely go, and she was happy to. But it seems the product is really only on my roots and has already mostly washed out-- its been 4 weeks and I only wash my hair once or twice a week and with the appropriate shampoo/conditioner. I did ask her a couple times during the waiting period if it was enough, b/c the hair wasn't soaked or anything, which she did explain the hair shouldn't be saturated (which a lot of salons do) b/c it is too much product and doesn't need to be. It all made sense and I did trust her. So I'm not sure what happened. I think there wasn't enough product, my hair is really thick and curly, and prone easily to frizziness. In any case, this keratin treatment didn't even last a month =( My hair is pretty frizzy again, with the exception of around 1-2 inches of the roots, on the very top of my head. Not sure I'd go back, at least not for keratin.. maybe a haircut. read more

On July 9th I went to Impress Hair Salon to get some extensions. Upon my arrival, Konstantina was there and recommended I do fusion extensions. As I have had some work done before (highlights) and I have very thin hair, I went with her professional recommendation. On July 24th, my first extension came off. I was merely running my fingers through my hair gently and it just fell out. Thinking that it might've been me, I reached out to ensure I was following the right steps. Konstantina confirmed what I was doing was right; I bought expensive conditioners and shampoos for my hair as well as oil (she told me to oil it every day, I did) as well as a high-end hairbrush. When I headed back to get my fallen extension back on, Konstantina wasn't there and the other girl did not know about me nor was I on the books. She took care of me and put the fallen extension back. I asked her to ensure all the other ones looked good and she said they did, all the other ones look good. No problem went on with my day. On August 4th, the same one they fixed fell out, and on August 8th another one. A total of 3 came off. I went back and this time Konstantina put them back, again ensuring me I was doing everything right. Her added recommendation was to sleep with my hair on a ponytail, which I did. Between then and August 21st, another one fell off. And then on August 21st, another one. Lastly, this past Saturday, while working at a shoot for New York Fashion Week, TWO more fell out. While working, I had my hair looked at by a professional Hairstylist from lower Manhattan; he used me as an example of what not to do to your hair telling everyone in the room that he would never suggest this to anybody. At this point I was livid; not only did Konstantina say the opposite, but she also said they should last 5 to 6 months. I reached out to Konstantina, rather than tell you how it went, you can see the messages yourself. She shrugged it off and told me that "...Is [has] been almost 3 months you should[n't] have waited that long to realize" basically confirming that her work was poor all along. To conclude, I spent over $700 for 7 extensions to fall out; I now sit at home with 4 fallen extensions and will have to remove the rest, wait for my hair to heal, and then go through the process again with an actual professional. Konstantina ought to apologize and refund me. Unfortunately, she is too proud and stubborn. Update: "Usually the extension need. to be removed and reapplied every three to four months" - You put them in on July 9th and the first one came off on July 24th. "You asking us for full refund after more than two months that you don't like them,I don't think that's normal to wait for so long to realize that you don't like something." - Again with the false claim that I don't like them, never said nor implied that. I want extensions that do their JOB according to the supposed expert's advice (clearly you are not). Additionally, I NEVER asked for a full refund. Learn customer relations; a refund can be any amount or percentage. We didn't discuss it because you assumed and didn't bother to ask. "Usually it takes up to a week for a NORMAL PERSON to realize that." - A normal person knows how to deal with guests that make valid points. I presented all the evidence including messages between you and me showing how unprofessional and stubborn you are. Also, the defamation of my character by implying that I am not a "normal person" will not change the fact of the evidence stated above. read more

I went in for highlights and received amateur results from this salon due to Covid I couldn't go back to the salon since it was closed..... fast forward a couple months when the salon opened the owner told me that I waited too long and that she couldn't fix it.
