Wycliff not overly dry, easy to drink bubbly.
    Vivian R.

Sunday brunch was great! The DJ (Shawn (sp)) amazing! The vibe was everything! The food delicious! Qiyaa amazing bartender super friendly and made fabulous drinks! The do bottomless mimosas for $25 but they are premade so initially I opted for that but the pitchers can sit around so bubbles get flat. I ended up just purchasing a bottle of the Wycliff and it' has a screw top so you can take it home if you don't finish. Honestly it was only $5 more than bottomless, you can poor it yourself and they can provide a side of juice if needed. I personally think it's better than doing the bottomless. Will come again!

The salads here are great and I'm a big fan of the chicken caesar particularly. It comes in a tortilla bowl that's perfectly cooked and complements the salad really well. I'm not even exaggerating when I say writing this review is making me crave one! The lettuce is always crisp and everything isn't drenched in dressing either. The service is okay. I always wish it were a bit more attentive but it's not awful. Their bathroom could use some attention. I feel like every time I've used it, it's been really messy which I'm not a fan of. It's pretty divey. The patio is nice though! Definitely sit out there while you can.

I came out to Red Rock Tavern with a friend for late night chats and drinks. I have ordered from this establishment before however I've never dined in, so this was a new experience for me. The patio was filled with people and they had music playing for the vide. The bar was filled with people as well so it's not all hush hush. Since we knew we weren't staying long, we ordered a couple drinks and nachos. I'm glad we were able to customize it the way we wanted and it made the perfect late night snack. Our server was super attentive and we enjoyed having laughs with her. Thank you for a great visit!

Service was a little slow but I think they were running short staffed. All the outside tables were full and there was an event. Waitress said it was actually slow to average. Food was good. Though I was surprised that's the Gorgonzola burger was spicy. Didn't expect that but I enjoyed it. Juicy and flavorful. Cajun fries were good but salty. This is a solid bar and grill. Not to of the pack but by no means bad.

    Bread no clams

I ordered clansrips with french fries As you can see in the pic i got all that and there were no clams all bread disaapointing ive ordered before but this time those clams were no clams it was all bread. Coleslaw was good and french fries not worth 25$

Consider this review to be more of a 3.5 than a 3. Only reason it isn't 4 stars is because I think the interior could use some love. Thankfully everything else makes up for how it looks though. Walking in you immediately get that local tavern feel; like everyone knows each others name. Not the kind of place I would normally go but the happy hour prices were too enticing. Heaping pile of "nachos" with an amazing house made thousand island for only $6? Yes please. Mini pitchers of beer that give you at least 2.5 glasses full for only $6-$7?? How can I refuse. Service was great. Everyone was very attentive when they weren't busy chatting and hanging out with the regulars. Not saying it like it's a bad thing - you can tell people visit this place often. And I can't blame them! I wouldn't necessarily bring my wife here but it's a great place to grab some food and beer before going out or maybe a good place to visit at the end of your night. There's street parking available but if you see the gates open in the lot diagonal to the tavern you can park very easily for free there and it's a close walk across the street to get back. Recommend coming here for happy hour w the guys, I know I'll be back!

This was a big miss. Bread was old, chicken was so thin it was like Lampoons Christmas Vacation turkey, it was just crunch. The photo shows how it just disintegrated. Tried to skip the bread and eat the chicken but no, trashed. Cheese was cold and hardened to the bread.

This tavern had amazing food, music and service. It's rare to find Bottomless Brunch with a DJ! Loved the vibes the entire time, 10/10 Highly Recommend.

A lavender lemon vodka drink. Deliciously served with a sugar coated lemon and a sprig of lavender.

What drew me to this location was the gluten free options on the menu. Unfortunately we did not end up eating because the waitress brought us our drinks but then never took a food order or came back over until our drinks were done. That being said, the drink I had was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was friendly. They had a bit of a dive bar vibe which I always appreciate.

(Last visited 12/13/2020.) It's the weekend and we've heard some decent things about Red Rock Tavern's bottomless brunches so we had to give them a try! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: Right on the corner of Capitol Avenue and Lawrence Street is this gem. There isn't much of a parking lot that I can remember, but there is plenty of street parking if you can find a spot. Once inside the exposed interior brick walls and worn wooden floors certainly add to the tavern feel. There really isn't much to this place, but the atmosphere was AWESOME as soon as the DJ got there and started playing some music! It was hype! Service: Decent. We were sat right next to the bar (prime real estate) and whenever our cups got low they were refilled. The mimosas were a bit too orangey even though we asked numerous times for less orange juice each round. Oh well. I guess they have rules to abide by. Other than that things were straight. Food: For my brunch entrée I went with Red's Rockin' Wings. You get a choice of 9 sauces and I chose Hot & Sweet hoping to get a big of spice with a sweet finish. They were okay. They were a bit dry, a little on the small side and simply okay. I wouldn't get them again and I'd try something else. Value: $25.00 will get you endless mimosas with orange juice, pineapple juice, white cranberry juice, or pomegranate juice. Excellent choices and you can continuously switch between the varieties. My wings are $12.00 for 10 and that wasn't bad at all. In conclusion, I loved the atmosphere and energy of this place, but the food wasn't the best in my opinion. Nachovember
    Jason P.

I visited Red Rock Tavern for the first time because RRT is one of 13 honorees for CT Yelp's Nachovember. I also ordered the Dry Rub Wings. The $5 Nachovember special consisted of smaller than average fresh made triangular nachos chips, with melted cheddar and Jack cheese, black olives, pickled jalapeños, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sour cream and salsa on the side. Great yellow, red, green, black and white colors. Nice bursts of acidity and fresh flavors. HUGE portion for $5. But for the Nachovember showcase deal, I would have ordered the nachos with beef as well, but these nachos were still very good. The wings were also very good. The dry rub had a southwest or Cajun vibe. The wings were juicy and meaty and I liked the outside seasoning. Brining or some similar process would have taken the wings next level. The Tavern had a classic, but updated feel. Service was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return to check out more of the menu. Four Stars

The place looked spacious and with a lot of light, it looked clean and they seemed to have a nice selection of wines (for those that like it) , they were displayed for people to see, which I thought looked very nice. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I found it odd that there was only 1 restroom for the size of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he took our order and we were excited. The food took a VERY long time, we were starving, and we had kids with us so that wasn't good. Some of our orders were wrong and so unfortunately we had to wait even longer for the right meal. We didn't order alcohol but we did older a couple of mocktails. I was SUPER excited for them because that's something I always appreciate at a restaurant. I'm sad to say that they were AWFUL!! straight up syrup, not bubbly (some were supposed to have soda in them) not sweet, simply not enjoyable at all, I ended up switching it for a simple club soda, I figured it was a safe bet. When my food came out, it was ok, I had the avocado toast, and it was forgettable, my sister had the chicken and waffles and now THAT was the meal to get, it was large in portion and that chicken was beyond tasty!! My other sister has the lomito sandwich with the chips and it was good, something missing but she enjoyed it. The rest of the food were burgers and they were ok, the kids had burgers and Mac and cheese and they were not tasty according to the children's disinterest in barely touching their food (and they love cheeseburgers). I'm always willing to bypass certain things as long as customer service delivers BUT unfortunately they fell short. We were celebrating an engagement and so we were all very happy and in a great mood, when suddenly workers around us were cleaning up the neighboring tables, and even sweeping very close to us. We thought the place was possibly closing? (Even though it was only 2:15pm). I asked if they were closing and they said that they close the restaurant from 3-4 so their employees can go eat .... I'm not against giving them a break BUT, it really felt like they were kicking us out, we felt pressured to eat fast and wrap it up, not a good feeling, when you are in the zone of happiness. It was our first time there so, I would have appreciated if they would have informed us that the restaurant takes a little break in between and then we would have decided if we wanted to stay or go elsewhere. They did bring a little dessert and 2 mocktails for the newly engaged which was nice, I'll give them that. Overall, I don't think the food and experience was worth me coming back or recommending this place, I'm sure there's other much better places.

There are a lot of food options, we came for a friend's birthday party and they had created a custom menu. My only qualm with the place is access- difficult to find the parking and to navigate to get in here, it's a business/apartment building so takes a few extra steps to access the restaurant.

Notwithstanding, we looked forward to something unique and outstanding, given the constant advertising on Yelp for the Parker House Rolls. The hostess was friendly, the waiter a bit snobbish, but perhaps that's the "exclusive" vibe they are trying to project. We went on to peruse the menu, which is a bit abbreviated; I assumed it's because they are focused on their "specialty." We took in the views, which, hailing from New York City, were not as vast or fascinating as those we were used to. Granted, we knew where we were and really had no expectations. We just wanted to enjoy dinner. The meal's presentation was beautiful. The Parker House Rolls were delicious. The Hamachi Crudo appetizer was perfection. I did not enjoy the Skate Wing and did not eat it; it had a tough rubbery texture; probably overcooked. I mentioned to my waiter that I didn't enjoy it, and he offered no alternative, so I ate more rolls. My husband enjoyed the Dry Aged Rohan Duck. We topped it off with a chocolaty dessert and French press coffee. The friendliest of the staff was a young man who collected our plates after our entrees. He smiled and interacted in a very down-to-earth manner. Overall, the appetizer, rolls, and dessert were delicious. The service was stoic and not warm or welcoming. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be visiting again.
