Every time you go, you will see a man in overalls or cowboy boots. They don't mind the mud (or cow patty) on your boots because the owners are farmers. It is normal if you have to park in between cattle trailers and pickup trucks. Locals are regulars and you are greeted like Norm from Cheers when you enter. A big table in the center of the room is for all the local hands to get together and discuss small town life. I recommend sitting close by to hear the latest gossip or to hear a heated discussion on the sports. The menu is basic with burgers, salads and such but what really gets the locals coming back is the plate lunch special. Sometimes it is a but salty and you may want to ask for no salt on ordered menu items. Great charm and appeal. Worth the stop!!!!

We got close and Waze had us make a turn on Harris street and my wife panicked. It did not look like a journey meant for us. I proceeded to our destination and the parking lot was packed. We walked in and were greeted and seated. It was a hot day and it was open air seating. It took our bodies about 15 minutes to adjust, and become comfortable. Our server was Edward aka Bubba. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, and were given a very generous portion. Bubba also added a complimentary crawfish and grits dish that was awesome. My wife ordered the fried catfish , and ordered the blackened Mahi. Both dishes were prepared to perfection, and presented tastefully. We received our order in a very reasonable time. We wanted dessert but they were out. Check this out though, when they do have dessert it is on the house. At Pop's Place the prices are very fair, the portions are over the top, and the service was on point and very hospitable. If you are in Texarkana I highly recommend Pop's Place.

Every time I go, I end up trying something new because everything is just that good. The portions are big, the prices are super reasonable, and the food is always hot and fresh. What really keeps me coming back is the flavor -- the seasoning is on point and everything has that perfect crispiness. I also have to shout out the red beans and rice... SO good, definitely one of my favorite sides! On top of all that, the owner is always kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
