We ordered a number of items and food arrived after a short wait. The fish was perfectly fried with a decent coating of batter. The house cut fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We shared both the cod and halibut. My husband preferred the halibut over the cod, but I found both to be enjoyable. Coleslaw was fresh. Onion rings are one of the better onions rings I have tried. It was crispy too and made with the same batter as the fish. Their signature soup was a bit on the saltier side with the bacon. I would have preferred a classic clam chowder over this. Restaurant was clean and tidy. There was a steady flow of customers coming and going. Staff were quick to clear tables for the next customers. Our server was friendly, and efficient. She stopped by regularly to refill water cups and cleared dirty plates. Overall, this meal was very good. I would make the drive to here when I am craving for some fish and chips again. Prices were reasonable for the quality and amount of food we ordered. There is ample free parking on the plaza.

Condiments are at the table so you can help yourself! The batter for the fish was light and the fish was perfectly moist and flaky. Chips were not bad as well since I don't usually like these kinds of chips that much. Would be nice if the bread roll was warm.

Seemed like a decent place to select for a quick takeout option that night. Parking available right…read moreout front. There's two doors but go to the right hand side one to enter. Restaurant was pretty quiet when we picked up our takeout & is fairly spacious size for dining in restaurant. Lots of table size options & someone with a cane can get in there if the parking curb height isn't an issue. Not sure if there's a dropped curb somewhere else. Also, not sure if the main door would be wide enough for a walker or wheelchair. Staff was friendly b & helped us realize we could order a meal that had both of what we wanted to try. Fish (the choice of cod & halibut meal) were lightly battered, flaky when eating & to me, they were large pieces. We enjoyed both enjoyed them. Fries that came with the meal were nothing special but we really enjoyed the tartar sauce. They included vinegar & ketchup as well as forks and napkins in our takeout bag. Takeout was wrapped in newspaper & fries were included with one of the fish pieces in a cardboard tray. As I haven't enjoyed fish & chips since being out on the coast in Oct, I'm not sure if that's the average pricing now but seemed a bit expensive for 2 pieces of fish (even looking at only ordering one type). Especially since there wasn't any drinks included in the meal price. Overall decent meal & did the trick to fill us up. Was nice to introduce my friend to a new meal option in his neighborhood

COVID #25 This place…read moreneeds a bit of a shout out. The food is actually quite good. I know about this place from the reviews, and of course one of my Yelp stalkers has been here. They know who they is, and I'm not mentioning they name. I gotta get my pronouns right, right? If I'm gonna slag they, I may as not offend they, eh? See my pics. You get a healthy serving that's for sure. If you've been to concession stands at Vancouver Parks Board beaches, you'll recognize something here. The smell. The smell of the fish and chips. It's very similar if not the same. Interior is run of the mill. Don't expect fancy. I'd say it's 70's-80's decor. Pricing, not bad. Tartar sauce tastes like it's Miracle Whip based, but I could be wrong. The batter is very light on the fish and the chicken was very crispy. Server advised it would take 20 mins. This needs some hashtags. #StalkerReview #I'mBeingSarcastic

This could be the greatest staff in all of Southern BC. Patient, kind, humorous. Not only can they explain the different items and their ingredients, they can describe exactly how it all tastes. To which they are 100% accurate! The six of us played community food, but what's the point here? All the poutine was awesome. Oh well, it's fun to share. Yes, get The Gaucho "Cowboy", but also try the Butter Chicken, Vegetarian Chili and my favourite, the Le Montreal. ALL the poutines rocked! The burgers are juicy and full of flavour. This group has found a way to marry all the flavours so they complement each other all through the meal until the end. Portion size was another crazy, happy surprise. So much so that the cost no longer matters (as you may have guessed, the cost was reasonable). Still, if it's just a couple of you, you might go regular as opposed to jumbo...unless you're thinking late night leftovers. We pigged-out and didn't get a chance to reheat this food. Mistake on my part. 05/25
