This corner pizza joint serves a great lunch special Monday through Friday that includes any of their specialty pizzas, a drink and your choice of a salad or breadsticks. You can also do a build your own small pizza without the other stuff but we were pulled in by the loooong list of specialties and knew we wouldn't agree on one to share so it was perfect for my sis and I. The exterior appears newly remodeled and I was expecting a more upscale interior but appreciated the super casual atmosphere being the sweaty messes we already were by lunch. Service is fast! We had a couple of different people pop by to help us, which I don't mind. Drink refills were there before we needed to ask. I love that. I had the salad, my sister had the breadsticks. She preferred a more spicy nacho cheese than what they serve but really liked the texture of the breadsticks. My salad had green olives and pepperoncini in piles and I really liked the herby homemade Italian dressing. She got the veggie pizza, thrilled to have toppings she hasn't had on a pizza in years because her family won't eat them or anything they touch. I decided on a chicken bacon ranch pizza-the CBR. Both of our pizzas were loaded with toppings. Her veggies were fresh and the right color. My ranch sauce was not too salty and had a nice hint of dill. This is so much better than the chains. I had this on Wednesday and I fell in love. It's super affordable because I'm a broke college student. I got a personal pan barbecue chicken pizza and 6 bread sticks all for $13. The pizza was really good. I would advise eating the breadsticks in the car when they're hot. I've been here several times. The food is always great. The breadsticks are soft, warm with a crispy exterior. The pizza crust is similar to the breadsticks, always delicious.. the kind you want to finish with your pizza. This particular day I tried the buffalo chicken pizza for the first time. All the flavors blend really well. If you love buffalo chicken dip with ranch, you are getting all of those flavors with us pizza. We enjoy coming to Madison for a weekend trip. We stay at Clifty Falls Inn and shop downtown. We found this place about 2 years ago and love it. They have a good selection of beers (wish they had more ciders) and the pizza is great. When I asked my husband what he wanted to do on this trip the first thing he said was eat at the Red Pepperoni! We shared a side of fresh hot breadsticks to start with then the Sunday special large 3 topping pizza (pepperoni, sausage and mushroom) yum! Awesome pizza! Spent the day hiking at clifty Falls and stopped in for some lunch. The wait staff was super friendly and on their game. All the waitresses were attentive to all the tables and so service was just awesome! As for the food, they had daily specials and everything was fairly priced. I tried the white pizza. It was really good, I think I'll try another one next time. But honestly everything looks awesome. My friend got the Calazone and it was pretty big. She said it was great. This is my go-to place for food after hiking Clifty Falls or walking the heritage trail. I've only had classic pizza with veggie toppings. They have some specialty pizzas on the menu- the BBQ chicken pizza sounds delicious. What really shines at this place is the reasonably-priced excellent beer selection. In Louisville I'm used to paying $6 for a Christmas Ale, but I think I paid only $4 here. Small-town value! Also they have a Sunday large 3-topping special for $13. A tasty bargain. read more

Was excited to try the red pepperoni. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the food for we never got that far. But this quaint little establishment looked and smelled promising. As we walked in we got some looks from the staff, and that was it. They didn't seem to be overly busy. Half the place had tables seated and there were plenty of seating on the patio. No line to wait. Stood around for about 2 minutes before we decided to seat ourselves. The booth we chose had a nice view of the patio and a good view of the drink station, where the staff seems to be milling around, but the table top was very tacky. This could be either from the need for a good refinishing or maybe need to be cleaned better. After a few minutes of looking around, a staff member dropped off some plates. That's it. No "hello", no "someone will be right with you", no " F you". Nothing. So we sit there. No menus. No idea what's happening. Do we scan a QR code for menus ? ( we are still in a pandemic I think?) I scan the table to see if maybe menus were tucked at the table somewhere Waffle House Style. Nope. So we wait. Looking around for some type of clue. Or at least give the staff a clue that we are in need of some service. Nothing. My girlfriend is ready to leave at this point. Giving them the benefit of the doubt i insisted we give them a few more minutes. So we waited. After about another 2-3 minutes of enjoying the smells of food that we would have loved to have, another family came in and seated in a booth near ours. They were quickly greeted with plates and menus. " That's it I'm out!" Exclaimed my girlfriend. As i stood up from the booth the waitress who was so eagerly serving the other stable looked over. Sat down and waited about 20 min with no service. My husband went up to the register to ask if we needed to order there or wait at table, and they said they'd be with us in a moment. 20 more minutes later, still no service, no one has even come to our table not once. Had to go up again and once again ask for service. After 40 minutes, we finally got to order. Still incredibly slow service after ordering despite being here during a slower part of the day. All in all spent 1.5 hours here, almost all of it just waiting around. Pizza was good but nothing special or worth the 1.5 hours we spent here. If you want some real pizza, make the trek to louisville and hit up impellizeris or spinellis in the highlands. Bummed about our experience here. We were on Madison staying at the Inn at Clifty Falls Had been downtown shopping and wanted pizza for dinner.Looked at the advertisement for Red Pepperoni and they said dough was made daily and fresh ingredients and a large selection of Craft Beers.went In around 7:30 and only 1 open spot on the parking lot. We went in and grabbed a booth and was quickly greeted and took our drink order. We ended up ordering an Italian salad , my wife wanted Ranch and I wanted Italian dressing, so they brought us both. We ordered a large RPD Special pizza which had Sausage and Pepperoni , mushrooms, onions and green peppers. The salad was loaded and so was the pizza. Great taste and great crust and a great overall experience. When we return we will definitely be back.
