Boneyard was as a dandy restaurant we found during our recent trip to Madison. It was a bar and grill that had a rather large menu. I went for some wings as I tend to do and they had a good variety of sauces and cooking styles. I got mine bone-in with half Boneyard Heat and half Boneyard Bbq. The bbq was a mostly sweet bbq but had a little kick at the end. The Boneyard Heat was one of the best spicy wing sauces I've ever had. It was a variation of a Buffalo but had so much awesome flavour. Heat and tremendous flavour these wings had it all. Also at the table we got a half rack of ribs which was quite delicious. The service was excellent and rounded out a most excellent meal. Their wings alone make it worth the trip for me. read more

Honestly the food is good but the service is a hit or miss sometimes even the food is. one time I ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer but got it for dessert instead because they kept forgetting them. then one time I order 8 count WINGS but got a 7 count of drumsticks and 1 wing. when I order wings I want wings not them fatty nasty drumsticks an absolute rip off. but on the other hand their pizza is the best I have ever had I can't get enough of it. their staff is also very nice and friendly. and I do understand we all make mistakes but the wings I will never forget because I wont be ordering them agian. read more

Start off with food was good. However service was horrific. Never got a refill on any drink. Not once did she ask if we needed anything. I asked for my salad before food got it with food. Would walk by and try to get her attention would keep walking. Was my wife, daughter and me. Daughter and eye were thirsty and was frustrated couldn't get refills. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I use to come here regularly for the variety of beer offerings and food options. They had great wings and pizza at decent prices. They even had a mug club. Sadly, no more. The mug club is gone. Tap selections are lackluster. The food prices have increased and the portion size has decreased. I have come here for lunch and the service is more misses that hits. No more 15 minute lunch guarantee. They added lasagna, which was good the first 2 times, but very dry the last time. You get a side with the lasagna, but cannot choose breadsticks as a side - we were told the reason is you already get a breadstick with the lasagna. Seriously!? Yes, they were. My last visit they ran out of the liquor I choose to drink (a regular bourbon most places stock) after serving my first drink- not a good sign. The wings have completely changed. They were by the pound and grilled with a nice char to them. Now they are by the count - I paid $13.99 for 12- they were the smallest, most undercooked wings I have ever received at a restaurant. I sent them back to be grilled more and they were not much better. I took them home and grilled them myself. A bright spot is they do use fresh greens on their salads. Overall, the Boneyard is not a dining spot we would choose to spend our time and money. read more

I love sports bars.. It's about the only place in the world left that I could possibly get into a fight at! I'm not much of a fighter though, I'm more the beer drinking, fried food eating, football game watching type! This place has all those things covered nicely! I got some cheap beers, some onion rings, a flatbread type vegan pizza, and a big old tv showing my Vikings all to myself! Can't really complain! Waitress was nice, but left half way through the game, I took care of my tab with her so I could tip her out, and then I was left stranded with no beer for half the game.. Have no fear, I went and asked for another and I got my beer, my Vikings won, and I left feeling a little buzzed from a happy victory and lots of cheap beers! Thanks Boneyard for making me feel at home in a strange place! PS might be the only place in town with NFL Ticket! read more

We stopped coming here years ago because of terrible service. But with the new owners it has gotten really popular so we decided to try it again. Went on a Saturday night around 8 pm and the place was busy. We sat at a 2 person table in the bar. Our waitress stopped by quickly but then only half answered a question before she ran off to get me a sample when that's not what I was asking. It was obvious she was only half paying attention. That became the story the whole night. I had to grab her every time we needed her and she was always trying to run off before really doing what we needed. She didn't really make eye contact, it seemed like she was always looking past us. I ordered a cheeseburger medium with cheddar cheese instead of American. My burger came with shredded cheese just laying on top instead of melted. My burger was so well done it was crispy, definitely not medium. My son ordered a pulled pork sandwich which was ok but I thought the sauce was too tangy. The fries were excellent. It's the only bright spot. Our waitress never came by after we started eating to ask how things were. I had to grab her to get our check and have her run my card. Finally after she brought my bill to sign she asked how everything was. By this point I was seriously annoyed so I showed her my well done burger and she finally made some eye contact and apologized and offered to do something about it. I'm not sure what because I'd already paid and we were walking out. She came back and said the manager was coming to give us a gift card. No thanks. A gift card only means we'd come back. Much too little much too late. I could forgive a bad burger. But not a bad burger and terrible service. read more

Not very impressed at all with this place. We arrived at 5:15, the place was 1/2 full. My son and I ordered our food at 5:25. I ordered 12 grilled bone-in wings with fries, my son ordered 8 boneless wings with fries. We finally got our food at 6:48. The wings were subpar and after saying something about how long it took I got a half hearted apology. For a basket of 8 boneless wings with fries and 12 bone-in wings with fries, 2 soft drinks was $45. That was the first and last time for me at the BomeYard Grill. read more

They serve burgers here that's really good! The server was little hurried at first, she seemed to be hurrying us when we were ready to order, but I thinks that's just the way she is. She seemed really nice, even gave us extra order of fries when I told her I prefer the fries vs the chips that I ordered when I snag a fry from my brother's plate. The food came in really fast and they were all delicious. Prices seemed appropriate for a sit down restaurant. Their specialty seemed to be burgers, but they also serve sandwiches, wings and other yummy food. I will definitely recommend this place. It was not crowded when went there to eat which is around 11 am- a time they opened in a Saturday, but people seemed to be coming in regularly once they opened which is a good sign for good food and service. read more

A pleasant find! I was over in Madison for work and an overnight (see Holiday Inn review) and the BoneYards was where I wound up. Decorated with Harley orange about everywhere, my hopes were pretty high. Plenty of TVs with everything on imaginable. The menu sold us on what looked like really good bar food. The wings were really good - and flame grilled. And good sized at that. The stuffed mushrooms were pretty good, but not enough of them. Then the pizza. The menu said fire baked and we were ready for crispy and cheesy put together. What a dissapointment. Flabby and gooey was more accurate. Dollar beers a always a good thing. I'll go with four stars since this is a fairly new place and a great environment, but I could have easily dropped to three if our waitress wasn't as freindly as she was. read more

Food was pretty good. Had a ribeye sandwich that was wonderful but fries were burnt. Service was horrible. Our waitress reached over the table each time, leaning on us and making us stretch across the table to get our food and drinks. She had to be retrieved every time we needed her, she never checked back on us. After an hour of this, they went to get the bill and she said she would get them to us. 15 minutes later we finally got them. The food is good - but not very proportionate to the price for how it tastes. The service is typically slow, and it has the typical bar feel of being noisy, and the feeling that the seating is about to fall apart. BoneYard Grill has great grilled meaty chicken wings, not deep fried, but cooked on the flame grill next to some pretty tasty hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. Some of the best food found in Madison, the best on "Madison's hilltop." Plenty of flat screen TV's to watch games on and its no smoking too! Tried this place while passing through town. The food was very good. Ribeye was cooked to perfection. The stuffed mushrooms are very good. The lower marks are for service. The waitress was more interested in changing channels on TV. We had to ask for silverware. Twice. Other then service, food was great. Went there on a Saturday afternoon. Not busy at all. It took about 15 min for the guy to come give us our drinks. It took another 10 min after that to get menus and we had to ask for them. After he took our order we waited for 30 minutes, no food. Keep in mind the place had 10 people on there tops and 8 people were drinking beer. After inquiring why it takes so long to cook two burgers the manager stated " we forgot to make the order". I left immediately. Will not be back. This town doesn't have too many places to choose from so I can't understand the subpar service. read more

Discovered this place about a year ago and has been my favorite ever since. I really enjoy their appetizers they are inline any you find at other places. Great stuffed mushrooms, bacon jalapeños, and cheese sticks. I also really enjoy their Reuben and steaks! By far my favorite thing about this place is the "Beer Club" it's where you drink 43 different kinds of beer and at the end are awarded with your own mug with your name on it. HUGE variety of beer, actually got me into drinking craft beers! Always had great service here too. Would recommend this place to anyone! read more

Was very busy, I felt sorry for the poor waitress, everyone sat in her section and she was running around like crazy! I am amazed they don't have bussers working as the waitress was so busy bussing tables my order sat and sat waiting to be picked up. She must have heard me wrong because I ordered bone in wings and got what looked like a child sized portion of boneless wings. My farther ordered chips and got fries. This was our first visit. Service was average the ribs and fries were wonderful. Baked potato was dry and crumbly. I was hoping that a place named bone yard they would have brisket and burnt ends.
