This restaurant is very clean and classy. The waitress and waiter were very nice and polite. My boyfriend loved his Special Chow Mein dish. I wanted to drink some Thai tea but they did not serve this. I was a bit disappointed. Google said that this place has Phos but I could not find a lot of these noodle soup options in my menu. I had the Pad Thai with no meat except tofu and asked for a wider variety of vegetables to be added. The result was pretty yummy except for the fact that after eating half of the meal the spices accumulated on my tongue and then it was a bit too spicy. I took the rest home and ate it later. Red Pepper is one of my top two Vietnamese restaurants in the city. We usually order delivery. We order on Skip, but they handle their own delivery. Service is always very friendly. Their meat is higher quality and better seasoned than other restaurants in the same category. First time to Red Pepper, heard it was the best Vietnamese lunch in town. Seated quite quickly and the room was fairly full for lunch despite the frigid cold temperature. Seated right away and order taken promptly. Started with an order of rolls which they are apparently known for but I felt it was the same as the other places on Saskatoon I had visited so they were good. The fish sauce was normal. I ordered the pork vermicelli with one roll lunch special. It was good but felt the pork slices were dry with not a lot of flavour. Overall pleasant clean restaurant, washrooms impeccably clean. Felt the food was good but probably second best so far in the city but quite pricey. Would return to the restaurant of other people or location dictated. All in all OK. P.S. apparently the Vietnamese sub is supposed to be unreal, will order if I go there again. read more

Love the their spring rolls and spicy noodle soup!! Best in town!! My husband decided to try their new Vietnamese Sub ( Banh mi ). It was the best we ever tasted... and we are from Vancouver!! They actually make their own pate ... which is tastefully done with chicken liver....all their ingredients were fresh and prepared nicely. My husband loved it so much we ordered 6 to go ... great for our drive back to Vancouver. Overall, great food, great service and the best "Banh mi" we have ever tasted!!!! read more

* TAKE OUT DISASTER *. We ordered Friday night 7 dishes. This place has gone so down hill. 3 of the orders - ginger beef, mixed vegs and lemon chicken were a waste of money. 6 pieces of beef and 1000 carrot slivers. Lemon chicken looked like the bottom of fryer was dumped in. Kids didn't even want any of these. Called to complain. They said they had costs to cover and labor so couldn't do much. It was pretty disappointing overall. It was my first time trying this place so I went with the most simple dish possible. Chicken fried rice, ginger beef and sweet and sour chicken. The beef was dry and tasteless, the chicken was extremely greasy. For a restaurant for where you can get a Vietnamese meal for under $10, this is one of the better ones! In Saskatoon, there are quite a few Vietnamese restaurants that serve alot of pho and bun (white noodles in soup and rice vermicelli) all of varying quality. This one is probably one of the better ones I've had (compared to the States and Canada). The bun meats and spring rolls on the bun are done quite well. The broiled BBQ pork has a nice crispy outside and manages to maintain a tender and sweet inside. The spring rolls are also pretty good as they got the proportions of the filling correct. The pho is pretty good but not as good as the bun. The soup base does have flavoring as it is not merely chicken or beef bullion cubes. While pho and bun fundamentally are not that hard to make, because of this place's excellent value ($6.95 for a charbroiled BBQ pork with spring rolls bun at the time of writing) and good flavors, it deserves a recommendation. read more

Although I do miss the privacy that came with the booth seating, food was and still is amazing. My go to noodle bowl is with grilled pork and spring rolls and it never disappoints. The food was reasonable and our server was very nice. However I was thoroughly grossed out by the fact that there was a woman with her dog in the restaurant. Not only was it in the building, but she brought it through the kitchen (in a kennel) when she arrived, went back into the kitchen with it out and in her arms, and then sat at a table with another woman who prepped garlic for the kitchen in the public part of the restaurant. I am super unimpressed... so gross and unprofessional. I will not be back. read more

Wow fail in all respects of the word fail. Can I rate it a 0? Food - We ordered Pad Thai, it tasted like dish soap and noodles it had no vegetables and they used pasta noodles that were extremly thin, definitely do NOT taste like Pad Thai. Basil chicken was also a disgrace it actually did not taste very similar to basic chicken tasted more like garlic chicken was pretty nasty to say the least, this place does not know how to cook basic thai dishes it is almost like the people in the kicken have no cooking skills at all. Atmosphere - ambience was filled with the usual westside crowd little sketchy some kid was playing in the back watching TV running up and down the restaurant. Low budget interiors noodles / rice spilt on the ground wouldnt doubt it if they had rats in the back with how clean they keep the place. Service leaves a lot to be expected, we received the Basil chicken and 10 minutes later the rice ... no one came to check up on us or take our order to begin with no water refills. Funny how they had a tip button when I went to pay my tip is to close the restaurant its f**king nasty. Saskatoon has a lot better to offer, I'd much rather go to a mall food court than this place, this is not asian food this is garbage the owners should be ashamed. read more

Used to be a favourite. Went back recently and it has dropped of the list entirely. Even the basil beef - usually a solid bet - was tough and bland. The Pad Thai was embarrassing. Tomato sauce? Really? It was like they'd poured a can of Ragu into some noodles. I don't know the reason, but this one has fallen hard. We didn't even have them pack up leftovers. read more

Red Pepper is excellent. We ordered three dishes, and the food was all quite good, and very reasonably priced. Our server was also quite attentive and seemed to be there whenever we needed anything. The food also came quite quickly. The atmosphere was also nice, with a good mix of people and a nice but not over-done decorum. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good meal at a good price and isn't looking for an overly fancy backdrop. read more

Came into the rest after hrs and hrs of driving. It seemed like it had been days, maybe it had been. It had been sunny and rainy, snowy and dark so many times that I could no longer keep track of it. Battled our way through Manitoba, nothing seemed to work. Finally after hrs and hrs of hay fields and flatness, so much flatness. We were able to find a place to eat in Saskatoon. It was this place. When you have the munchies on strong, and are in need of a quick Chinese food thrashing. I strongly recommend this place. However, I did notice one thing. Their chicken balls, seemed to be rather, square. Or just chunks of chicken battered then cut into two pieces. However that did not detour me, I ate every last bite of them. They are plentiful and are tasty, and the sweet and sour sauce soaks into your tongue and remains with your taste buds for an hour or so after the meal. I also was so blessed that I was able to try the high five pad thai. Now I know the high five is not listed there hahahahah. It's just pad thai. If your are a light eater. I would suggest if you are getting the pad thai, to maybe split it with a friend or maybe even a random person on your social network. Or the street if you are real brave these days. Gosh when I get talking I just can't seem to stop. But guys serious, I hope this helps you decide where you are going to eat tonight. If you left with out your Chinese food.
