The food was alright. I ordered a perfect pairing with my meal and they gave me the wrong order at first (lobster tail) and then gave me the correct one (shrimp scampi). When I checked out they charged me for the lobster tail, which is significantly more expensive then the scampi and when I asked the waitress about the receipt, she said she did it to make the order cheaper because the scampi + extra shrimp (didn't order extra nor received extra) would cost more than the lobster. I checked the menu and two orders of shrimp scampi would still not have been more than the lobster tail. In the end she offered us a "coupon" and the total came out to what it should've been with what I ordered. Very confusing. read more

Since it is a chain restaurant, I never feel that you can expect the quality of a small local business that really takes pride in the food they serve. This Red Lobster was no different. My grandma and I arrived at lunch time and were seated right away. The place was really slow, and not many tables were occupied. I thought I was getting a pretty good deal ordering the lunch special of grilled bay scallops and the garlic shrimp scampi. The biscuits as usual were great, but the main meal itself was definitely not something to rave about. The bay scallops were not bad, but they were a little flavorless even though they were marinated in some sort of sauce. The shrimp scampi on the other hand, maybe me feel a little sick just thinking about eating them. I couldn't taste any garlic, and basically felt I was eating a little shrimp with my butter. I thought the service was pretty good, and our waiter kept coming back to check on us, and refilled our drinks in a timely manner, which was the reason i gave this place one more star than I otherwise would have. I can't say that I would never go back to this place, but it is definitely towards the bottom of the list of places I would go if I had a choice. read more

I can't believe that I once would have rated this place a five. Then I realized that this fake seafood crap was all stuff I could make at home.. for way cheaper (hey--I'm a terrific cook). Their cheddar biscuits are really good-- I'll give them that. And their stuffed mushrooms are good too, but I can make those at home and NOT spend more than $8 on it. But this is where the good food ends. I feel bad saying it, but I don't think I'll go here again. I'm pretty tired of paying for food that I can recreate in my own kitchen. Yes, it was a Friday night. Yes, we had a larger group (7). But waiting 45 minutes past our reservation? A little much. The wait staff started out with a bang but fizzled out as the meal went along. Half of the table received their drinks a good 20 minutes after the first half. All of our meals were misplaced and the same waiters who took our orders seemed very confused. The food, when it finally arrived, was good standard Red Lobster. The shrimp linguine alfredo was 5 stars and I would get that again in a heartbeat. One can never be disappointed by RL's Cheddar Biscuits! Now they even give you separate bags to take home "leftover" biscuits. Which made the very long meal almost worthwhile. read more

I have not been to red lobster in years, and I was a bit hesitant to come, even though my last visits were very positive, I have never had a negative experience at a red lobster, but I am always hesitant when I am going to be spending a decent chunk of change on dinner even after the gift card we had A side note first: I noticed that a lot of the issues people are complaining about could have been resolved with talking to the manager. I have worked in customer service for years, if you don't bring it up to the manager, it will never ever change, and all you did was complain online instead of helping the issue by telling the person who could fix it and rectify it in the future (every restaurant runs out of food some times). As for my own visit, I honestly have not had better service other than at a 5 star restaurant in Ajijic Mexico called Tangos, and our server was just as attentive, but not overly present just the same as the servers were in Tangost. Our server Lisa was amazing, I cannot say enough good things about her, she made sure our water stayed filled without asking, and without even making her presence overly known, I never noticed she was filling it. She checked back in, but not too often to see if we liked our food. We never felt rushed, and she was very friendly and made appropriate jokes as well as being very knowledgeable about the food. I cannot vouch for the rest of the staff other than the Manager Rod whom was also very friendly and nice when we talked to him to tell him about Lisa's amazing service, but Lisa and Rod were truly awesome, and Red Lobster is smart if they keep them around and use them to train the rest of the staff. :) Our food was great, we had the Langostino Artichoke Dip and it was very tasty and hot. My food was very tasty I had the "Lobster Lovers Dream" and my husband has "Dueling Lobsters", I tasted his food as well and his was just as good as mine. Everything was very fresh and well made, I have no complaints at all. This is by far one of the best experiences I have had at any restaurant, and I hope if I come back I get Lisa again cause she was truly the best waitress I have ever had the luck to be waited upon by. Bad customer service. We got there when their was another family waiting. We checked in & gave her my phone. More Families/people started coming in. We notice they were giving them tables. We waited for 45 min. I checked in with the front lady she said she texted me awhile ago. I told her I never got a text. She said she got my phone number wrong. First off they should double check if they have the right phone number correctly . Second of all they were coming outside to call customer names. They could done the same for us. She told me it would be another fifteen minutes. I would see big groups leave. Another group arrived, while we waited & they were seated right away. First time coming with my family, never again. My hubby and I went there a few weeks ago and it was so good! The service was amazing, the restaurant was pretty much all too our selves because we have this horrible habit of going to places right before they close, but it the quality of the food and service were not compromised what so ever. Used to be my favorite restaurant in Salem. Went August 11 2020, for our wedding anniversary. Menu was limited, no side house salad offered, which we prefer, only Cesar. I left the table to use the restroom and returned as food was being served. Table was very full and the plate with my baked potato hung way over the table on my side with the sour cream facing outward. When I slid in the booth to set down I got sour cream on my pants and all across my shirt; guess I could have noticed so my fault. I had ordered the 1 pound of snow crab and there was less than 1/2# of the smallest snow crab legs I've ever seen on my plate and that baked potato was tiny. I've ordered the same meal numerous times there before and always got a lot bigger potato. I would understand if they had been honest and explained how COVID shutdown hurt them financially so they were forced to reduce portion size. Menu however said one pound of snow crab. I'd never been able to finish the 1# of crab on previous visits and was always able to bring some home for a snack the next day, not tonight, I was still quite hungry after finishing all my food. Our waiter was nice and hearing it was our anniversary offered an ice cream sunday which I accepted. I don't care much for deserts but I was hungry. My wife and I, her sister and husband (pastor who married us 19 years ago) paid separately each asking for a receipt. None arrived so I stayed behind and asked again. I was given 2 copies of the their receipt. Asking again 3rd time is a charm they gave me my receipt but had also printed another copy of theirs again. They quickly left with it and I find that unprofessional in todays world with so much identity theft but then that could just be me overreacting. read more

This previous Saturday will be the last time I come to this Red Lobster. I thought I would give it one more chance since last time my steak was so tough and raw I couldn't eat it, and it leaked blood all over the rest of my dish, ruining my lobster. So there I was again last Saturday taking my mom out to dinner and spending 80 bucks on dinner. My lobster was so overcooked and shriveled up I could barely pry tiny bits and pieces out of the tail. The taste and texture were yucky. My moms scallops were like chewing on salty rubber, which is never the way scallops should be. Once upon a time I got excellent steak and lobster here. Ahh...I remember when Red Lobster was a great restaurant. Now, it's the quality of cheap TV dinners at prices ridiculous enough to make you spew milk out your nose when you get the bill. Not only that, but the food is full of such artificial flavors and excitotoxins that it might as well BE a TV dinner. We went there for lunch and sat at our table for 15 minutes and no one ever came to take drink orders or even let us know they would be with us soon. We decided to move to the bar, hoping to get someone to take our order because I only have an hour lunch. We were greeted this time, but she kept saying she would be right with us. I was really disappointed in our trip to eat at red lobster today. My first issue was our biscuits were really doughy in the middle. Very undercooked. When we ordered our food it was fast getting to our table and we were starving. I ordered the mussels,shrimp and lobster tails in a white wine sauce on pasta. Some of my mussels were not even open after digging through my pasta. Everything I have read and everything I know to be true about seafood says if they do not open while cooking you shouldn't eat them or serve them. I asked the waiter who was incredible the entire time. He took it back to the cook or manager (unclear) he returned to our table and explained he was instructed that the mussels come in frozen so they are previously cooked. This concerns me even more. I made it clear that I was concerned about being sick off bad mussels and he assured me it would be fine per their manager. Not to mention the shrimp and lobster that I had in my dish was rubber and hard. My parents plate had grilled shrimp that was inedible you could barely chew it. Lobster tails were reasonable size but absolutely chewy and over cooked. We finished our meal and told the server he was great because it wasn't his fault that the cook informed him of not correct info. Be weary when going and check your seafood to make sure it's cooked properly. We won't be going back for this reason. read more

My boyfriend and I ate here last week, and it was A-MAZING. The food was great, but the service was outstanding. We came by on Wednesday around 6, and got seated pretty quickly. Our server, Brandon was the best server I've had anywhere in a long time. He was friendly, gave some great suggestions, and was not overly-attentive (for some reason that bothers me, haha). When we got there he asked if we were celebrating anything special (we weren't), but I thought it was really nice of him to ask. We ordered an appetizer that he recommended - calamari, and it was delicious. Not overly fried or greasy, and it comes with deep fried broccoli florets and red bell pepper strips. It was the perfect combo, and it was a huge portion for an appetizer. Brandon came by while we were still eating the appetizer to see if we wanted out dinner salads to be brought out now, or after we were done. I've never had anyone ask, and it was just one of those nice touches that really made me appreciate it. Dinners were great, exactly what we expected, but we were both really happy we went. Red Lobster Restaurants are one of my favorite chains because you can get fairly good seafood for a decent price. However, like all restaurants, its success is largely due to how it's managed. This one in Salem could do with some improvements. Wait time could be better and service could definitely be improved. The last time I visited this place we had a good 15 minute wait (and this was on a "slow" night). Our server took a while to get our orders and when the orders arrived, a couple of them turned out to be the wrong and had to be sent back. The food was a bit dry and salty, but edible. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but definitely could be much improved. While I won't be returning any time soon, it doesn't put me off from going back in the future. read more
