While I've visited this location before a handful of times, I don't think I've ever taken a moment to snap a photo. The food is always plentiful and reliably decent enough to keep us returning. This time the server started off a slightly awkward, but wound up recovering and was great by the end of our experience. Everything was good slightly disappointed in the coconut shrimp I feel like should be jumbo like it says ! they were small flattened out further so that made them less juicy and delicious, still satisfied that I could find coconut shrimp. Our server was nice but incredibly slow and seemed scatter brained. We had to ask for refills repeatedly. She'd randomly bring one person a refill but no one else. We were there for at least 10 minutes before we got our drinks. It took at least another 10-15 before she came back to take our order. We had a large group, 7 adults and 3 kids, so we knew we wouldn't be in and out but the entire experience took close to 3 hours. This is way too long and it made us not want to come back. read more

I ate lunch at the Muskegon location today and dropped over $30.00 for a plate of fish and chips (no extras) and a piece of cheesecake. New Lobster roll was yummy. My waitress was great. However, my experience didn't start well. The hostess sat me at a round table for 5-6, when I told her it was only 2 of us. When she showed me the round table, I asked her if the leaves could be dropped. She said sure and walked away. So I'm sitting there and the waitress comes over and I ask her if the leaves could be dropped. Of course she helped me. However, this was a big mistake. The crevices of the table grooves were disgusting. Not a good way for me to see how dirty the restaurant was. And clearly they are not cleaned daily, as I was there at 2:00. Very nauseating. As a suggestion, the hostess should have seen that it was a round table and taken the initiative to drop the leaves before I got there, and made sure they were clean. Asking for help or doing it herself. It was not a busy time. She could have taken the 5 minutes to do it. Because of that experience now, I will forever ask the leaves to be dropped and cleaned prior to me eating on a round table. This place used to be our favorite BUT NOT ANYMORE! The cooks overcook the food and the servers forget your orders and bring out food that's obviously wrong. I've been a server for over 20yrs and YOU DO NOT EVER bring out orders to a table that are wrong. That is literally your job. This place has gotten too expensive for the quality of food and service you get. Last time I went it was my birthday and it was the last straw. The cooks overcooked our food once again. I ordered the ultimate feast as i always do with the shrimp pasta that I've been ordering with it for years and the shrimp had tails on them. Never has that happened before and both the server and manager told me they just stopped making it with tails 2 months prior so the cooks must be confused. Never once in all the years I've been ordering did it have tails on the shrimp. It is a choking hazard and who wants tails in their pasta. If I had gotten tails before I would never order it again. And instead of giving me the refund on just the pasta I requested, I got denied by the manager so I requested extra sauce because the slop they brought out without tails had no flavor to it because instead of adding more sauce when they just recycled my pasta with the right shrimp, it was pretty dry as well. And I HAD BITS OF TAIL IN IT STILL! AND THE MANAGER DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO GIVE ME THE EXTRA SAUCE! My lobster tail also didn't have any seasoning like it usually does. The server also forgot my wine and didn't get me a refill on my pop either so I had to flag her down after 15min of waiting. I've also been a bartender for years and they made my sangria wrong. THEY WERE SLOW AS WELL SO THERE WAS NO EXCUSE! THREE PEOPLE, 3 ULTIMATE FEASTS, 2 POPS AND 1 ALCOHOLIC DRINK AT $170+ BEFORE TIP. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! Flavored crab? More like flavored crab shell! I don't usually post but felt you should be warned before you try this novelty. The crab tastes the same, but if you enjoy shell you just might like it! Whoever came up with this absurd idea obviously didn't think it through. It's hard enough to open crab legs up, but then just drizzle on a sticky yet slippery mess and it's chaos! All you end up doing is using twenty napkins to clean them up enough to hold onto and since they provide you with one little wet wipe you ask for 5-10 more packets of wet wipes to get your hands clean enough to work more at it. My crab legs kept slipping out of my hand and onto my husband's plate. To the point he got frustrated watching me and tried to help so that made two people all sticky. In the meantime, the rest of your food is getting cold because you don't dare touch your fork so it stays clean. Huh... here's an idea... Why not add it as a dip on the side. This made my experience not fun at all and quite frustrating. Let alone all sticky and covered in yuck on my nice clothes. I almost sent them back to be washed off - the crab legs not the clothes lol! The waitress could have at least warned me or given me the option to put it on the side. We typically go here once or twice a month. Not going back, at least for a very long time. We called got a reservation for 7 people. Showed up and they wanted to seat us at separate tables because they're short staffed. First, makes no sense, they are still serving 7 people even if it's at 7 different tables. If they needed 2 servers for 1 table so what? Second, I've been to dozens of restaurants since covid with 6+ people, other short handed restaurants figured it out. Third, and most importantly, tell the person when they make a reservation. They might appreciate not coming there for nothing and having time to go somewhere else. Red Lobster. Once upon a time THE family favorite for a reasonable shellfish dinner. We started going to Red Lobster in the late 70's and have been going on and off ever since. Through the years we have seen many changes in the Red Lobster menu, the staff philosophy when dealing with customers and last, the continuous change in the menus that always, always, always are accompanied by increased prices and reduced portions. We had two daughters who both worked briefly at Red Lobster while earning extra college money so we also had some access to the way Red Lobster management operates behind closed doors and makes change. You won't find true King Crab or shrimp cocktails anymore. The crab you do get is of questionable origin, certainly not the snow crab we used to get. Red Lobster uses pasta dishes with sauces designed to obscure a clear look at what they call langostinos or Chilean lobsters. This is actually crawfish. Or crawdads. Some people like crawfish, if so, great! But if you think you are getting some type of designer lobster, sorry, no you aren't The lobster tails served as typical entree items are about as small as you can get. I don't know what the legal limit is anymore for a caught lobster but back when I was diving - a much younger man those days - this size would have resulted in me getting an expensive summons from game wardens for taking immature animals. Those who have been customers of Red Lobster probably used to enjoy a fairly nice selection of steaks that accompanied the seafood. For awhile the steaks were in the 'awesome' range but not for long. Now, lately I think I saw a small steak that looks not too good - as the only beef entree available. In conclusion, all of the historical aspects of eating at Red Lobster that can be considered, quantified and compared to past reputation have dramatically fallen. On the other hand, the items Red Lobster has used to replace the truly good fare are largely pasta dishes with questionable contents. Last, let's touch on price. Somewhere, slowly, mixed in with menu changes where they are usually taking something good out replaced by something less worthy, Red Lobster takes the opportunity to carefully raise prices. A dinner for two, with an appetizer, and drinking no alcoholic products will easily set you over $100.00 before tip. I can't speak for you but a hundred bucks for some crawdads in a pasta, a couple of roles, an unremarkable salad and equally uninspiring baked potato just don't make me think I'm spending wisely on a special meal. As much as I tend to hate on chains, I have a soft spot for Red Lobster. We used to go to the Red Lobster on Business 31 growing up, and its relocation closer to the Tri-Cities has made it (although unfortunately somewhat belated) very convenient to access. I came here for lunch last week with my sister while I was holidaying back in Michigan. There was no wait for our late lunch (around 2ish) on a weekday. I didn't realize they have some pretty awesome lunch specials. I ordered the shrimp and chips for $8. Although the shrimp were a little smaller than I wanted, it's hard to beat fried seafood and fresh fries. But perhaps the best reason to come to Red Lobster is for the cheddar bay biscuits. Complimentary so keep them coming! I devoured five of these over the course of my meal. These things keep me coming back to this chain, and even though there is some news that RL might be changing ownership, I sure hope these biscuits are here to stay. Costco/Sam's Club sell the biscuit mix in bulk, but why go through all the hassle of doing it at home when you can just come here? LOBSTERFEST! We couldn't resist. My boyfriend and I finally used a giftcard we had been to buzy to use. We shared the "Lobster Lover's Dream" and added 1 extra lobster tail with shrimp, bay scallops, and bell peppers in a sherry cream sauce. I also had a cup of lobster bisque. So I went to Red Lobster today for lunch -- truth is, I had a coupon burning a hole in my pocket. And I'm not a food snob, really!... I don't eschew chains just because they're chains. HOWEVER, I ordered the tilapia with vegetables roasted in a parchment bag. It was delicious with great seasonings. BIG BUT: most of it was raw. And I didn't order sushi. The outside was fine but the entire center of the filet had to be sent back to the kitchen to be cooked. Now one would think that the management, who were fully aware of this faux pas, would at least comp me for my iced tea. But nothing. I guess maybe they consider this ho-hum, standard operating procedure -- perhaps it happens often? Otherwise I can't imagine why they wouldn't have been profusely apologetic.
