Last night I went and had soy ginger salmon and fettuccine alfredo. It was OUTSTANDING. I went about 25 minutes before they closed and I was extremely satisfied. Normally I've had good experiences at this location but today if I could, their star rating would be negative. I ordered the Langostino Lobster Artichoke-and-Seafood Dip appetizer. When I got home, I noticed the dip container was about a quarter half full so thinking it was a mistake I went back to the restaurant. I was informed by the cashier/front person that this was the correct portion size. So for $13.30 I received an ample amount of tortilla chips with one ounce of dip. I told the cashier that I wanted my money back because this was clearly a rip off and it's no where close to what the online picture looks like in portion. Her attitude was very matter-of-fact. I absolutely love Red Lobster and asked to go for mother's day....Don't ever do that unless you can get there when they first open. Our wait time was about two and half hours long and when we got to our table it took almost an hour for our entrée' to be served but there were two reasons I gave them 4 stars: 1. Our server Jaime she kept checking in on us but not so much she felt like a fly buzzing over our head. She kept us abreast of what was going on with our food. When I didn't enjoy my drink she immediately got me another one and she did it all with a smile and we weren't the only table she was serving and it was 7 of us but she never seemed frazzled...Kudos Jaime!!! 2. The food was on point my Lobster was cooked just right especially my steamed one which is the one I would recommend because the grilled one was ok but it wasn't as sweet and succulent as the steamed. The shrimp scampi all I can say is yum! The crab legs really had meat in them which meant for one they weren't over cooked I believe and were a good quality. I had the ultimate feast but I couldn't eat it all...I will tell you why We ordered three different appetizers crispy shrimp wraps, lobster and artichoke dip, roasted garlic muscles...each filled with flavor that exploded on my tongue like yeah I knew you would like it...lol I don't know who the head chef was that day but there were many happy faces and it was actually the freshest I had tasted in awhile from a Red Lobster establishment. Between the 7 of us and one was a baby so I guess I could say 6 and half because he can't give us any real feedback on our delicious meal but I digress we had Admiral Feast, Create your own combination,Ultimate Feast, we also had one of the specials with salmon(my daughter was the only one not real impressed by her special meal) but the rest of us thought our meal was very tasty! I suggest unless you are driving that if you get the Lobsterita you get the one on the rocks because the frozen one taste more like a slushy minus the drink but it was still tasty. The Grand Patron Margarita with a shot of Grand Marnier was so good I wanted another one but I didn't want to be greedy but maybe I should have been...yum! My daughter said her Sunset Passion Colada was absolutely perfect the right amount of alcohol and tasty fruit flavors. My oldest daughter even said she enjoyed her Manhattan but next time she is getting a Lobsterita...lol me too but on the rocks. All in all it was worth the wait to spend time with four generations of family on Mother's day with good food, service and family despite the wait time at the end of the day I believe that is all that matters and I would go back to have so many more great memories and laughs. I've visited this Red Lobster in the past and was very pleased with my order. But yesterday I went there with 19 other people and ordered my favorite dish, a Rock Lobster tail. I've only had one other bad experience like this one in Cincinnati, OH in Sept 2017. I've always ordered my Rock Lobster Tail to be cooked "Golden Brown". This way I know that it should have a wet rubbery taste to it. But when you bring me a brown or worse "burnt" looking tail I know it's going to taste horrible and dry. Needless to say I sent it back and the waitress brought me another one that wasn't golden brown but a little lighter than the first one. When I was cutting it the top was so hard that I rubbed it with water to get my steak knife to cut it. The waitress was great but the cook doesn't know how to cook a lobster tail properly. read more

I did not enjoy my time here. Came for lunch and they were not staffed for the amount of people dining. I sat at the bar since I was by myself. Took a while to get greeted, but it was because the bartender was running around taking care of all the tables. Took a while to get my order. Lots of flys that kept landing on everything around me and it really grossed me out. The food was okay. The crab legs I got some of the meat was liquified? My mom likes Red Lobster, so I took her there for a belated Mother's Day lunch. We were seated immediately, and our server Jane was with us a brief monent later. Jane was efficient, attentive, and warm; she made the difference for our stay. Let's be honest: Red Lobster is not gourmet fare, nor is it so intended. However, the New England style clam chowder and the cheddar biscuits are frighteningly good. There is no skimping on portions, either, and the lunch serving of beer-battered walleye was more than enough for me. My mom finished roughly half of her Admiral's Platter. The restaurant is clean (including in the bathroom), and it is appropriately lit in the booth seating area. It's a good atmosphere. One of our friends had rice and veggies and potato things. They told her they had ran out of mashed potatoes for her order. When I asked for asparagus they were also out. The rice was hard, like wtf. It is filled with some of my most favorite veggies: mushrooms, broccoli, red peppers, tomatoes, and onions in white alfredo sauce. The server did not even come and ask how were we doing. She did not even smile but ignored us! But when I went the lady room, saw they were chit chatting, seriously can't she be nice to us?! I went here for lunch with my family on a weekday. This Red Lobster always has a filled parking lot at night and seems to be a neighborhood favorite. I was presently surprised that it was very clean, and that there was no food on the floor from the night before. I have been to several chain restaurants where food was stuck to the floor and it smelled of overused bleach water from "wiping" down the tables. The food, typical Red Lobster fair. The biscuits were fresh and our food came out hot and well seasoned. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars instead of 4. They had $8 margaritas served in very tall glasses with a short of Grand Mariner. I ordered Savingon Blanc and got Cabernet Savignon. Oh well... red, white, the waiter heard Savignon... My lobster pizza was surprisingly good. It was a flat bread with fresh tomato, basil and chopped lobster. My friend shared her Caesar salad and it was quite nice. I am extremely upset about the service and food I received at this location. My party waited 30 minutes to be seated and they only seated us because we came inside to find out how much longer we needed to wait. The host stated the buzzers didn't work outside but didn't inform us nor the party in front of us about the malfunction. After being seated we ordered our food and our server was great. The food runner brought our food to the table and explained how she had been on her own for 3 days when she was suppose to be in training. My potatoes were hard and stale and my broccoli was extremely dry. I asked for a side of soy-glaze to go with my salmon but I didn't get it until 5 minutes after my food was delivered. When the server came to the table I informed her that my potatoes were stale and requested fresh ones and scampi sauce for my broccoli. She informed me that the manager had to come over to address the mashed potatoes issue. I waited 10 minutes (by then my food was cold) and asked the bartender to get the manager. She came to the table to let me know they were making a new pot of potatoes and they would come soon. Then I advised her that the rest of my food was cold and she said she would bring me an entire new plate (I was happy with that). Then she brought my plate and I still had to wait for my sauce. I had not been to Red Lobster in at least 20 years not because I was dissatisfied but just didn't find the time to go.. My son gave me a gift certificate for my birthday and I decided go to the Matteson location as it was the closest one to my home. My husband and I had a very pleasant experience. First, I love reserving a table online. As soon as they saw that I had a reservation, we were seated right away which was unheard of for a Friday night in the past. Our server let us know that the kitchen was behind schedule but that she would bring out our food as soon as possible and she did. Our appetizer was delicious and the entree with salad was too ! The manager walked throughout the restaurant to make sure everyone was happy with their meals and service. The service is atrocious as no one took down our orders as we sat for 30-40 minutes, waiting. Then the waitress had got an attitude with me because I left her a dollar tip. I said if your service had been a lot better, then you would have gotten a better tip. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner one night and we were incredibly disappointed. We're a young couple, but we are not nuisances when we go out, mind our manners and act like mature polite adults when we dine out. We don't sit on each others laps and feed each other like some people do. The way we were treated here was bizarre to say the least. Our waitress seemed less than interested in waiting on us. She never refilled my drink, refilled my boyfriends once. I asked for my salad dressing on the side and was given a salad drown in dressing anyway. I still ate it, as I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Half way through our dinners, neither of us had anything to drink, and she didn't come back to our table for a half hour after we were finished eating. This is not an exaggeration, it was literally a half hour. She had walked by 4 or 5 times but wasn't close enough to us to where we could catch her without having to yell, but she addressed her other table as if they were her best friends, laughing, and having 5 minute conversations. Refilled the woman's lemonade, brought them extra butter, etc...This was the same table where a couple was sitting on the same side of the booth, talking loudly about having sex and just being loud and obnoxious for all too hear, but nobody cared. Not really something you want to hear when your eating dinner. Anyway, we were sitting there, clearly ready to leave, needing a small box, and had nothing to drink for pretty much the duration of our visit. When we did finally catch her, she seemed annoyed, didn't offer us boxes or the check, we had to ask her for everything. She just said, 'Oh, doing ok?' The manager came to our table and asked us how everything was from a scale of 1-5 and we said 4 just to be nice because we were afraid we would be treated worse if we said 2. We were more than gracious and shouldn't have been treated that way whatsoever. We won't go back here ever, the servers in Bourbonnais are much friendlier and attentive. If you hate the type of restaurant where every couple you see is sitting on the same side of the table then this isn't the place for you.
