Me and my son went to Red Lobster for the Lobster Fest. I ordered a lobster tail sirloin steak with baked potato & rice. My son had chicken fingers, fries & apple juice. I asked for the steak to be medium rare, not too pink inside. I would say around 3:40ish our food arrived. My steak was too pink for me. So, I asked for it to be cooked well done. The waitress said to me "You asked for it medium rare". "I know I asked for it medium rare but, can you cook it well done?" "If it's cooked well done. There will be no pink inside & you asked for medium rare". Taken aback. I said "I know i will not have any pink. I just want the steak well done". She got a manager. The manager too replied in the same condescending manner "If it's cooked well done. Then it won't be medium rare. There will be no pink inside & you asked for medium rare". "I understand. I do not understand what the problem is! All I want is the steak cook well done. Forget about the pink. Why can't you just cook the steak well done. What is the problem"? Again, you asked for medium rare & it has pink inside. Cooking it well done. Leaves no pink. Sure, I lost it. "Why are you acting as if I do not understand? Why can't the steak be cooked well done?" The manager wanted to keep arguing with me. I am now very pissed off. Lost for words. Here I am me and my son are out enjoying our day and this is what we receive!!!! Mistreatment. Over a steak that could have just been taken back to the kitchen and cooked well done!!!!!!!! I just want to get out of there. So, I started yelling. At this point the manager and waitress condescending attitude (waitress smiling as if I am getting what I deserved) push me over the edge. I was then told to leave. I would only be paying for my sons' meal. Here you want to charge me for my son meal and he only ate two fries. Plate still full of food. My food sitting on the table barely touched. I mean the table full of food. At the register. I asked the manager for his name and number to Corporate. While waiting for the price of my sons' meal. I am still venting too myself. How I cannot understand what the issue was. I did not ask for anything in place of the steak. I just wanted my steak cooked well done. I no longer wanted it medium rare, and I am being treated as if I am stupid. OF COURSE I AM UPSET!!!! What was the issue?!?!?!?!?!!! Times are this hard that an establishment is telling the customer what they order and implying "Since you order this. I am going to educate you on what a steak or anything looks like. How it's cooked and you should not be asking for anything differently". This is perspective on the situation. With the manager & waitress condescending attitude and the waitress smiling as if "Yeah tell her". Business this BAD should GO OUT OF BUSINESS. I am very disappointed with the whole outcome and all I wanted was for the steak to be cooked well done. To be kicked out of a restaurant and hear my son say, "He is a mean man". For the manager not to give me his name. Tell me I am being disruptive. Point to the bar area. That is completely empty!!!! No one is the area of the front door. Educating me what medium rare and well done is. As if I was just born yesterday. Is out Outrageous. I have never been treated as if I was so stupid in my is an understatement and I have had my share of stupidity from others!!! This experience is over the top!!!! Then the manager had a nerve to lie and say "I tried to give you another steak". What another medium rare stake (he never tried to replace my steak. During my university days, Red Lobster people viewed as high-end seafood dining. Lines were always long. Wait times ranged from 40 minutes to an hour. The food was always worth the long lines and the wait. I remember the consistency in flavour right up through the late 90's, and then it appeared as though Red Lobster tapered off. It was as if the restaurant had suddenly experienced hard times and shut their doors. Fast forward to now, you can walk in and get a seat without waiting. Now I understand. The location in Matteson is close to my home, so I will pop in on occasion when I do not want to cook at home. The restaurant is never fully empty. Unlike days long ago when large parties occupied tables, that would be no problem now. The restaurant can accommodate multiple large parties at any given time. I tend to opt for fish and chips when I go. There are times when I will switch up and order salmon or any stuffed white fish along with vegetable sides. I would not say that the flavour has fallen off. However, there is something missing that I cannot put my finger on. I know that since the late 80's when I went to Red Lobster most, I had not yet broadened my palate, so I think that cooking and eating Caribbean and West African food primarily have wired my palate for a different set of spices that are not in the recipes at Red Lobster. This is not a bad thing, but it is just that my appetite is more satisfied than wowed. Service is always good at this location. That may be the case because the crowds are so thin that the servers do not come to the table agitated when they take my orders. I usually sit in the bar area. However, because the dining area tends to be mostly empty, the bar area closes so that diners can fill up the seats in the main dining area if possible. Hi, I'm a victim of the new red lobster marketing, here's my story. I'm a late 80's baby, I grew up having special occasion meals at red lobster. We all know they've been on the decline for quite some time but recently with a new ceo I decided to give them a go. This was a terribly disappointing meal, the biscuits won't keep them alive for much longer. The shrimp Alfredo had no taste, the barely steamed almost raw broccoli had not 1 drop of seasoning. This was a delivery order, they gave me the wrong salad and no dressing, and no utensils. The biscuits are still good not great and the coconut shrimp was ok just needed a pinch of salt. I had a very disappointing experience at the Red Lobster in Matteson. I ordered the shrimp, lobster tail, and salmon with a baked potato and coleslaw. The coleslaw was clearly spoiled--it had a yellow tint and an off taste. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, Shawn, he was dismissive and defensive. He refused to taste the food and claimed the yellow color was just "the mix." He then took the bowl away immediately so I couldn't take a photo of it, admitting that it had been sitting out. Despite the food being inedible, he refused to compromise or remove it from the bill. I was forced to pay for spoiled food. Between the poor quality and the lack of professional management, I do not recommend this location at all. Rude workers, but okay food. Our food was okay. But what really made this place a 1 is how rude the workers are. I've went about 2 times and each given tim the workers complain of not being given a tip. They do need to understand no one is forcing them to work as waitresses. I've been a long time, customer of red lobster and typically visit the one in Munster Indiana. The experience I had last night at this one was insane.. We stopped in last night after we left a play at the local high school because my husband and the kids were hungry. Now with today's market being the way, it is a night out with the whole family is a treat itself. We arrived to the location at 8:30 last night placed our drink order which was basically sodas and a glass of wine for my husband and I and meals for the entire family. Our waitress brought back our soda, drinks, one bread basket and then proceeded to disappear for the next 45 minutes not one time. Does she stop at our table to tell us what was going on with our food not one time does she come back to say hey do you guys need some more bread or drinks? She just disappeared to other waitresses had to go track her down then she came back to the table with that attitude and said I don't know what's going on with the kitchen. We're still waiting on your food at that point I asked to speak to a manager who came out with equally a nasty attitude and said was the problem. I explained how Myself our family and the two tables to both the left and right of me had been waiting for over 45 to 50 minutes with no one coming back to see us I explained that this is not the way the service industry should behave having worked in service for over 20 years. He was not apologetic did not even say I apologize for your way instead of saying OK so what do you want me to do at that point I was fed up my family was angry and I told him we will just pay for our drinks and leave because this was not OK. He said fine charged us $14 for the damn sodas and then left. He did not come back to take our card for the sodas instead he went back to the kitchen and the waitress still disappeared. We had to go to the front of the restaurant pay my tab at the bar because nobody wanted to take it and through all of this we got I am sorry this happened. This should not have occurred. Nothing I will never go back to this red lobster and not only will I stop here. They lost the opportunity for over $150 order now I get in the grand scheme of things that's not a lot of money to some, but to us it was a lot, and we wanted to enjoy our day out. I recently visited this location. The service was treble. It took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were. The food was burnt on one side and NOT done on the other side. It took the server 20 minutes to bring water. They weren't busy. 10 tables occupied at best. The drinks were watered down, the potatoes in the crab boil were hard. The biscuits they ate famous for didn't have the herb butter on them, the server brought out some melted butter for them. I am still shaking my head. I won't ever go back. OMG. Our Red Lobster closed so what a good idea. Oh, probably not so much. No one likes to be rushed but this was one of the slowest meals we've ever had. We sat in a bar booth and the food server had 3 or 4 tables there as well as elsewhere as she kept leaving for periods of time. Finally drinks, then finally ordered. Appetizers took forever and finally we were informed they were out of salad. It turns out they were out of my, then, second choice as well. Single gentlemen at the bar, serviced by the bartender, got their food and drinks in a timely manner. Only one side dish was omitted. Maybe they were out of that too. If she was over worked then where was a manager? Red Lobster is not 9 star dining but, on the plus side, the food was warm/hot and reasonably tasty. 2 hours and it wasn't a romantic dinner. lol. I asked the host for a table and he said that it would take about 5 minutes but he never came back either so asked another waitress to get a manager. Do you know that he was loud and rude and yelled at me because I asked for dinnerware to begin eating my salad? The food was deliberately served barely warm just to provoke an argument. The silverware had a white film on it. After bringing it to their attention, we were given plastic. 4. We were seated up a non operating tv with water damage above our headed. 5. I haven't been to Red Lobster in 12 years so I was kind of scared to go to this one because the reviews are trash (y'all should work on that). Anyway. I don't have a traditional job....so I'm able to indulge in solo dates during the afternoon while most are still at work. Which help me avoid most things people complained about: The wait, bad customer service etc. As soon as I came in I was able to sit down. I didn't like that the bar wasn't open to sit. I dine alone ALOT, but I'm not the "sit at the table alone" diner. Can we get back to bartenders showing up to their shift ready to give their bar patrons a good time? What I ordered: $20 Crab: it came out GREAT. Better than I expected. I just knew they were gonna put 3 legs on my plate but NO! The plate was nice and hefty, full of seasoning with potatoes underneath and a extra side of your choice. You can choose between 3 flavor styles. I chose garlic butter. I also asked for a shot of tequila. I asked for reposado. She goes searching and came back and told me there was none...and then she names a list of tequila. I quickly realized she thought REPOSADO was a BRAND of tequila and not the type of tequila. That's why it's important to have a bartender on shift. My biggest complaint with this location is that the employees keep your receipt and steals your points from their customers. My last three visits have been an ordeal with this location regarding my receipts. I have their Red Lobsters app on my phone so I order through their app, which isn't the best app for ordering either; however in August I decided I wanted Red Lobsters food so when I picked it up, I didn't notice my cash register receipt wasn't on my order, it was the print out receipt that they use to verify the correction of the order. So when I arrived home this is when I noticed the incorrect receipt was stapled to the bag. The cash register receipt has a bar code on it for their customers to scan and accumulate points to receive free food like appetizers, and desserts. One also climbs the VIP ranks as the more you order or dine in the higher your rank. Right now I am a Gold Member and 52 points away from becoming a Platinum member. Since I didn't have my receipt I lost out on my points. However, the next time I placed an order was in October for my birthday, so when I picked my order up it had a long receipt stapled to it but it wasn't the register receipt with the bar code, but I didn't notice it until after driving out of there parking lot, therefore I had my significant other to turn back around so that I could get my original receipt. Of course, I had to go through changes like wait in line again, the cashier couldn't pull it up herself so I had to wait for a manager to come and pull it up and print it out. By the time I got home with my food it was room temperature. This time on Friday, December 31, 2021, the cashier was once again giving me my order without the register receipt with the barcode on it and I asked nicely for my register receipt because the other receipt was stapled to by bag. She proceeded to print it out and handed me a blank receipt! Now I'm upset and said, "Come on now, this is a blank receipt!" So she apologize and attempted to print it out again and again a "Blank" receipt! Therefore she had to get a manager to print it out for me because she had closed out the ticket. This took about 10 minutes for the manager to arrive and print the Wrong receipt after giving her my name a few times. She had the audacity to rush me in reading the receipt and said "Look at the price you paid is that it?" So I hurriedly said yes to a $58.00 dollar order and went to my car and read the receipt which was Not my order! I double checked my order against the receipt, so I had the correct food order but not correct receipt. So I returned and again I had to wait for the manager to come again which was maybe a five minute wait. This time I had to let her know my displeasure with them. Each and every time I go through this long drawn out drama for a receipt that should be attached to my order during pickup. And I let her know that I had just left LaGrange a block or two away from the Red Lobsters in that area and I thought about ordering from there, but no, I am going to give my money to the "Black RedLobster" location because they probably need the business more than the LaGrange location and this is what I keep going through! By the time I got home, my food was cold! So, today, on Monday January 3, 2022, I scanned my receipt for my points and Low and Behold, it comes back and says, "This Receipt Has Been SCANNED! I just lost a $69.33 order scan to them AGAIN! read more

I'm probably the only person who dines in at Red Lobster for the stuffed mushrooms and a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay so I've got no pics but gotta give kudos to my server, Cay. She was courteous and delivered impeccable service from start to finish. Notable characteristics were her tone, posture and she smiled, genuinely, with every word that she spoke to me. I'm not a big chain restaurant lover but our family was having a gathering at the Ref Lobster in Matteson IL. The store was pretty clean and the staff was accommodating. Our party of 16 was seated and we had one server. That is a lot of work for one and I was deeply concerned. However, Maggie was on top of getting drinks, silverware, and cheddar biscuits out to us. Orders were taken and the food arrived in a relatively quick time. I had the ultimate shrimp meal and the flavor of the shrimps was very good. We were able to park right in front of door, plenty of parking. Should have been our first warning not to enter. Stood by hostess stand 10 min before being acknowledged. Complained to bartender. Waited anoyher 5 min for Management to speak to us about being seated. 5 additional minutes to be seated after table being cleaned. Several tables were aleady clean and empty. Ordered 4 drinks, waited 40 min and my husband to bar to get them himself. He overheard bartender say "I dont have time for this shit" - advice for you young man.. quit if you can do better. Ordered food which arrived incorrect: Sirloin and shrimp was cold and steak ordered Medium but served well done. Shrimp trio scampi Noodles under cooked. Lobster lovers dream with out butter. Lobster seafood bake served with over cooked muscles, 2 small crab legs and no lobster tail.  On top of that we ate with plastic togo plastic ware. How can expect to eat steak with plastic? This place sucks, my drink was watered down and tasteless, the chef burns the food including the biscuits and my crab cakes. I never go to this one except for 10 years ago and they sucked back then too, no improvement what so ever. The waiters were droping plates and breaking them, waisting food all over the floor. The table next to us was a large group and they just let their 2 kids run around the place screaming and playing, who wants to hear that?!? The manager and staff did nothing, and didn't care either. The shrimp they serve for the endless shrimp are super tiny, no bigger than a quarter, and they don't tast super fabulous either, they only thing I really want are the biscuits. The crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms are good but not as delicious as Olive Garden's. The crab cakes were ok but they din't taste freshly made, it tasted like they were the frozen kind. Even the frozen crab cakes I get from Sam's Club taste way better then the crap I had. The manager of the place made a poor attempt of going around to each of the tables to say hi, I see why the place is the way it is because she looked and carried herself just exactly the way this restraunt is ran. I am so disgusted with this location. I wanted a healthy option for dinner so we selected the 2 for Tuesday which consists of two entrees of lobster, shrimp & salmon with choice of 2 sides. I selected Brussels sprouts & lobster mashed potatoes. The potatoes were fine but the Brussels sprouts were burned and the shrimp and salmon tasted as if they had been burned together. I also bought 2 family soups which is supposed to be 32 ounces each but I east shorted 8 ounces on each one. After tasting the burnt sprouts I couldn't get that birnt cabbage taste out of my mouth.
