I'm giving a 5 star because of our server and food! Our server was the only server working at 1:15pm for lunch. Restaurant had 7 tables, one server, 2 managers were just standing around talking to each other, hostess was clearing tables. We were all shaking our heads. We overheard other patrons complaining about service and felt sorry for the server. Great food!!! I went on a Sunday with my mom, sister and her husband and it was great!!! I was hoping for more cheddar bay biscuts but that's okay the one I got was hot and fresh and my meal of fish & chips was the best.... Arrived and was promptly seated, several minutes later the hostess came over and asked what we wanted for drinks. After we had been sitting for 15 minutes I asked an employee to help us find our server, the hostess came over with some biscuits and stated our server had been on break and would be right over. Ok. first let me say, service was super friendly... BUT, my martini was not a martini...and as much as I hate to send food back, I had to send my mussels back! The mussels were soooo fishy. I know I'm from the east coast so I'm used to super fresh seafood, but I've liked the mussels at olive garden before... these were inedible. Not only was this the WORST service my husband & I ever had, it was the WORST food we have ever had. Our server was named Nadia, WORST waitress we have ever had ANYWHERE. First off, our table was filthy. There was greasy butter all over the table and there was rice stuck to my menu underneath. Then, she only brought one straw when there was 3 of us. I ordered a Pepsi for my beverage and she kept saying "Pepsi, right?" But kept brining me Diet Pepsi. Not only that, she dropped our salt shaker on the floor and still gave us that one. We got the calamari for an appetizer and it was the worst calamari we've ever had. It also came with sauce (that's what it said on the menu) which we didn't get and had to ask for. We had to ask for silverware and never got any napkins and she carried the utensils on her dirty carrying tray. We also had to ask for more biscuits. I ordered shrimp scampi, crab cakes, crab and bacon wrapped scallops: she said "the crab cakes weren't coming out right" and had to order something else, and I didn't get my bacon wrapped scallops- I got something else that I didn't order. I had to wait on those to be made. All we got was a small corner piece of a brownie as an apology. Food has gone down hill. Soup wasn't hot and it tasted sour. Salad was warm and lettuce looked like got swept off the floor and served. I cannot believe the experience that I had here at this restaurant. Upon receiving my food, there was a bunch of hair sitting off to the side. Literally like someone pulled or cut their hair off and sat it there. Not only that I had began to eat the food but what makes things even worse, I asked for a refund and was totally shocked that I couldn't get it due to some of the food was eaten. I am beyond upset I'm pissed off. My bill along with my family was over 100$. This is ridiculously crazy. I won't be back. I couldn't even get a refund of the food that was contaminated with someone's hair. That's the least you guys could have done. What happens if I get sick. Disappointed! We didnt even get a chance to sit down before being asked what to drink. Asked for water with lemon and had to ask all 3 different waiters for lemon that i never got. everytime someone came it was someone new. the bread was old and hard, when something on my plate was brought after bc they forgot and it was absolutely disgusting i wasnt even offered a replacement or even discounted. the last waiter was new and it was a all " ughh so yea what did you want or ughhh i dont know its my first day ummm so yea this and that eyes rolling lip smacking" Nope never going back. What a horrible experience. Service was terrible. Drinks didn't arrive until 3/4 completion of our meal. Another refill of ice tea was sweet rather than the ordered unsweetened. The appetizer came out with the dinner meal. The server argued with my husband regarding the supposed "fresh tomatoes" omitted from the bar harbor lobster bake (reported on the menu, but the manager denied this was included). The lobster bisque didn't contain a lick of lobster and the "bowl", larger serving contained about 4 tablespoons. Decatur has struggled no doubt in the restaurant industry during the pandemic, but one would expect the chains to keep up. read more

The wait staff is very pleasant however management is lacking. At 1:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was already out of key menu items. The only salad available was the Caesar salad. Five minutes after I ordered brussel sprouts I was informed that they had none. The server was unaware that were no brussel sprouts. Very disappointed. read more

I am vegan & do not enjoy going here because I don't like to see the live lobsters in the tank. I also am not big on chain restaurants and like them even less after being here. My husband and a friend of ours enjoy this place however & we had several gift cards for Darden restaurants from a well-meaning family member so we went. This was on 06-03-2012. We had just moved back to the area and wanted to go out to eat with the aforementioned friend. They were pretty busy when we first got there and our waiter apologized, but we told him to take his time. The drinks were a little slow getting out, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered a side salad which was very good. It also may have been due to eating total junk during our hectic move days just prior. They seemed to be happy with their salads as well. When dinner finally came, the restaurant wasn't so crowded anymore. I was served my plain baked potato & side of asparagus. I was happy they had asparagus! But the dinners brought to my husband & friend were not what they ordered. It was then I realized my husband's appetizer also did not come out. My husband was pretty upset & told the waiter. Our waiter went and got the manager. She finally showed up and then they were slowly given menus to just start over and reorder their meals. I felt caught in the middle because my husband was very angry, but I could also sympathize with the waiter. I am still not sure if it was a mistake on his part or on behalf of the kitchen. I used to wait tables and bartend myself so I could relate. My husband's food finally came out. It was a shrimp pasta I believe with an alfredo sauce. He told me it wasn't very good at all, but I wish he had just sent it back entirely. It looked to me like the sauce was broken and that it had been sitting awhile. I don't even recall what his appetizer was because it also wasn't anything spectacular. He was almost done eating when our friend's food finally came out. I don't think he had any complaints just because he was so hungry by this point. The waiter was a very nice man. I think it is possible that he just had a bad night or the kitchen gave him the wrong food. He said that mine was sitting with the dinners that were wrong that were brought out the first time. I just felt rude for eating when they had nothing, but it would have gotten cold. The manager wasn't all that professional to me in her dress or demeanor. She did take all but the awful the pasta dish off the bill, but left our drinks on. She did ask me if it were alright, but what was I going to say?? In hindsight I should have been more demanding. My husband had excused himself to the restroom and I was holding all of the gift cards in my purse. I also had a coupon for $4 off two entrees, but didn't even end up asking to use it because there were no longer two dinners on the check. I feel she should have just wiped out the entire thing. It was a much more hellish experience than I can even describe. If we didn't have to pay for those beers and nasty pasta, we might have been going back & this would be a much nicer review. So I hand the gift cards to the waiter to pay. I asked if I could use my credit card to tip him because I had no cash and wasn't sure how this was going to work with the gift cards. My friend offered to leave a tip in cash though. When we left I personally went and found the waiter and put the money in his hand. I hate leaving it on the table for fear someone will steal it. Not to sound like hot shots, but it was a pretty large tip. So the really funny part, which I did not realize until later that night, is this: I misunderstood the waiter and thought I had only 64 cents left on the gift card he returned to me. I took the card and one of my coupons to some men at another table and offered it to them. They seemed surprised and happy. When I looked at the receipt later, I realized I OWED 64 cents which meant there was over nine dollars left on that card I gave away. Ha! I bet those guys were really shocked at that when they paid their bill. Hell, in any case, I didn't think we would be coming back, at least not any time soon so somebody might as well have gotten use out of the damn thing. I wonder if this 64 cent check didn't get paid then, but hopefully that lovely manager voided that at least! What a nightmare. Though I have had worse experiences, this was ridiculous! I would completely swear off chains period if it were up to me. My dining companions will probably not listen to me ONCE AGAIN and something else will happen. Sigh. read more

My wife and I were in town and wanted to have some seafood. So we decided to have our craving satisfied at Red Lobster. It was a date night for us. When the hostess asked what we preferred we asked for a booth. She proceeded to sit us next to a large family with a bunch of kids. This Red Lobster has to be the biggest joke of all Forsyth restaurants. My husband and I wanted to have a very special birthday celebration dinner out. Splurging, we chose this restaurant out of the many choices we had to choose from. We decided that he was going to have the live lobster, but first we decided to order an appetizer. The menu did not show a picture of the one we ordered, but it described it as Calamari and Vegetables. Lightly breaded Calamari, broccoli and red peppers. We ordered it because we like Calamari and love vegetables. The plate came and what we had was old foul tasting grease soaked breaded Calamari if you could call it that. The rings of calamari were the size of our pinkies. To my disbelief the broccoli and red peppers were breaded, soggy greased soaked lumps. It was so disgusting that I mentioned to the waitress how tasteless it was. It didn't seem to phase her. I expected fresh steamed or grilled vegetables. Partially my fault, but the menu should be clear as I do not normally see breaded fried broccoli or red peppers. We did not eat it. Could not eat it, it left a greasy foul taste. The lobster, .... A Small, skinny lobster came next, and with it was a baked potato the size of a gulf ball. Each was very, very small. I asked the waitress if she could describe how to get the meat out in large chunks from the lobster, since this was his first time having one. She went and got rubber gloves on, came back and put her hands into the plate and proceeded to mangle the $35 lobster. We brushed it off, we shouldn't have, but it happened so fast. When he finished eating, I made a comment to the waitress that he couldn't get anymore meat off of it and at that point she took her BARE fingers, dove into the plate and started pulling apart at the rest of the lobster. She said quote- if that was mine I would have it down to a carcass. When we got our bill, I saw that there was a code to do a survey, but first my husband handed her a hundred dollar bill with the ticket to pay. She put the change back on the bar we had coming to us, but there was no ticket anymore. No survey? We left... Disappointed, very disappointed. Don't waste your time or money here. The service was ok but the portions are VERY small. They brought extra rolls and I filled up on those. My salad had less than a cup of spring greens drowning in dressing. I ordered the lobster roll and bisque. The waitress wanted to know what soup I wanted even though the bisque was part of the meal. The roll was the size of a hot dog bun, warm but not toasted. On the way down from Chicago, we stopped by for a quick lunch today. Well, that was the intent. We were seated right away, which was great. Greeted and drinks orders were taken by our server - a younger guy who was friendly. Good start ... then it took a bad turn. Ordered two sodas and two chocolate milk and the guy disappeared for about 12-15 minutes. I see other servers taking buzzing around and taking care of multiple tables ... but not our guy. He was nowhere to be found. Here is the summary: our server must be a magician because he can disappear while working at a restaurant. Not good service from him. One of the other servers noticed that we were anxiously looking for our server and grabbed the manager. Kudos to that server for paying attention and going above and beyond. Thank you. And most importantly, the manager today was great! She was apologetic for the bad service and was sympathetic to the long 20-minute wait to place an order. Thank you very much!
