If you have never been, you should certainly try this local fav! Full of fun car related decor, its a warm welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, wonderful food and great prices! They were busy but we were seated right away. Our server, Sierra, got our drink order while we checked out the menu. Almost everyone got steak, except my uncle who got the taco salad. I ordered the Cheyenne Sirloin with sauted mushrooms and onions, a couple people ordered ribeyes and other steaks. The food came out fast, hot and fresh! My medium rare steak was perfect and came with a big baked potato. All the steaks were wonderful and Unc pronounced taco salad fresh and delicious! Besides the terrific food and fun ambiance, what made our visit special was our server, Sierra. She was very friendly, helpful and attentive with order updates, refills and checked on us several times through the meal. Terrific Service! Ted's Garage is definitely a favorite and worth the quick drive up to Clinton! I highly recommend it! Kate the Artist

We had the ribs and steak special, the ribs were tender, bbq sauce was good too I would order them again. The steak was really good, very tender and no steak sauce was needed, excellent flavor. Someone had a cheeseburger & they said one of the best they have had. The ppl and server were excellent, very nice ppl! Would definitely go back every time we are down that way!

It was the Honey Chicken…read moreFried Chicken on BookFace that drew me in...and I gotta say, mine WAS next level - super crispy, not too much honey/syrup! The 'Specials' incl potato AND a soup/salad side - some a veg too?! Needless to say I left stuffed! Unfortunately my buddy's fried fish sandwich special was terrible - totally processed, square and from frozen. Fries were the light-battered type and just warm. Also keep in mind that it is a straight diner with no booze, but a huge menu and a pretty impressive pie/sweets counter. There were seemingly more than enuf freindly employees, yet somehow the service was kinda rough where we sat?! The filling lunch w/water was $15+tip and in my case enuf to convince me to plan a future visit for (catfish & walleye) fish fry Friday, soon.

I guess small town clientele don't want to pay for farm to fork locally sourced whole foods. for example, instead of real maple syrup,, it's the fake corn syrup variety of maple syrup.. I asked for half-and-half with my coffee, they pointed to the non dairy Coffee mate coffee creamer. I got waffles and instead of butter, they just offer whipped spread that is hydrogenated vegetable oil. Farmers used to be into real farm products. it looks like there's a lot of farmers in here, but they are happy with the ultra processed fake alternatives to farm fresh foods. The bacon was also not crispy. I might normally give a place like this two stars, but their current star rating needs a reality check. The service was fine.
