Wow.. just wow Traveling through town and arrived around 8 pm and asked around to see what was open for food ... they suggested snappers. I arrive and within 30 seconds the bartender took my drink order and then my food order. Steak sandwich was thin but double stacked and $12. Very tasty!! 40 beers on tap and lots of wine by the glass and full bar. read more

My family has met here for special events and just to get together, as it was a good middle point between Bloomington and Decatur. The service and food has typically been good, but not on 2-24-23. We sat at table D5 and checked out about 8:15. Our server had to be asked repeatedly for drinks, to correct food orders, to correct tickets and never did clear off our table. The wings a few of us ordered, and finally got, had very little sauce on them, which our waitress even mentioned when she finally brought them. Went to Snappers for lunch and a few drinks today. Ambiance, food and service were all top notch. Our waitress/bartender (the blonde at the bar) was great! Very friendly and fast. We got mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, cheeseburger, fries and wings for the meal. Everything was so good. Whatever seasoning the guys put on the burgers was FIRE! Best burger I've had in a really long time. Fries were crunchy and perfect. Had the Kentucky bourbon sauce on the wings and they were great. All the guys in the kitchen where busting out the food fast and delicious! Will definitely be back soon! read more

Snappers has been opening early for breakfast to capitalize on the Clinton Power Station outage. I've went here a couple times in the morning. The first time I had the biscuits and gravy. It could have used a little more flavor. I had to add a bunch of salt and pepper to make up for it. The breakfast burrito was awesome. It's huge. It has sausage, eggs, cheese, and taters in it. Unless you have a bottomless gut, you will walk away full. The bacon omelet was good as well. The servers are nice but the system is screwy. My buddy and I moved from the bar to a table when a couple people joined us. A different server brought our food and drinks. I was the only one at the table that didn't get a check. I had to keep asking until I found out that I had to find the original server who took my order. I could have walked out without paying and they would have never known. I am giving them three stars until I have a chance to check out lunch or dinner. I'll revise after that. read more

Snappers sits in the square in Clinton. There is a few outside tables, but that's where the smokers usually sit so if that bothers you then head inside. There are plenty of high top tables, as well as traditional tables and a bar. They have a rotating menu with their drinks with a wide selection. The food is standard bar options and tastes good. Prices are very reasonable. The servers are friendly and attentive. Give it a try! read more

Just a drink - rode to Clinton - checked out Snappers (again - had a favorable experience before) this is not different (although with a vegetarian friend this time and options were very limited: fried food, grilled cheese, salad). So after a tasty drink headed out to find a vegi-option for our vegi-friend. Our waitstaff was friendly and helpful in suggestions for beverages and restaurants more favorable to our vegitarian friend. She also said she would be speaking to her management about getting some vegetarian options on the snappers menu. read more

Good food, friendly service. Huge selection of beers, will give you a sample if you want to try before getting a pint. The Elvis P burger is huge, bug enough to share. I will go back again. Maybe even take a bike ride there just for the burger. read more

This place is fantastic! Truly unique, one of a kind! This restaurant should be on an international restaurant show like Anthony Bourdain, no reservations. I'd drive an hour just to visit this place if I weren't in town just for work. I've been here a few times, it's my go to when I'm in Clinton. Their cheese bites are my fav!! The bites are so smooth and have the nice kick. I normally order a bacon burger and fries. This day I ordered a grilled onion burger which was made just right. My husband had himself a juicy Lucy. He added that he felt it was a tad bland but nothing really satisfies that man judge for yourselves. read more

Ok, so Clinton, IL is not what you would call a big town. Think the sign coming in says the population is about 7,000. And my guess is that is generous. So there are not a lot of options as far as dining when you are out here. In fact this may have been the only place that was open except for McDonalds. I stopped in here to grab dinner and came away pretty happy! The bar/restaurant is right on the town square and I'm pretty sure they don't often get anyone from outside the county in the bar let alone someone from as far away as California. On the downside they do allow smoking inside which is something I haven't had to experience in a long time. But people were friendly and chatty including a guy who got t-boned on his motorcycle a couple years ago and wanted to show me all of his scars from the accident. Ok, so maybe the patrons should have been a little less friendly. Anyway, bartender also does the cooking and while the menu isn't expansive, it has all your standard fare. I got a cheeseburger with curly fries and because the bartender was cooking it I could see that it was a fresh made hamburger patty... not some frozen patty that was store bought. Everything tasted great, bartender was friendly and helpful and don't have any burger, fries and a Bud Light ran me $7. As long as you aren't expecting anything fancy, Snapper's works for what it is! read more

Never eaten anything at Snappers I didn't like. Plenty to pick from. Daily specials, fresh ground beef burgers, grilled chicken breast, ribeye sandwiches, all made behind the bar and cooked by bartender. They also have salads, chili, and plenty of appetizers to choose from. Several big screen TVs. Band nights usually draw a large crowd. Cold draft beer on tap (approx 10 varieties) to pick from. I had the wrecking ball (spicy burger with sriacha pepper jack cheese and grilled onion) it was simple but quite good. I miss being able to have a beer at Snappers. As soon as the bars/restaurants re open I'll be headed here for a beer. In the meantime I'll still enjoy great food to go. Fun bar in Clinton, cheap drinks and (usually) friendly crowd. Gets a bit rowdy on Saturdays sometimes, but weeknights & Fridays is usually a good place to relax and have a couple drinks. Plus it's close to the Greeks, if you feel like a change of scenery. Good burgers too. read more

Food was excellent, service was severely lacking. I went there with two business customers for lunch and it took about 10 minutes just to get a menu. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich (which was great) with lettuce and tomato and cheddar cheese on toasted rye only to have it arrive on wheat toast with no cheese or lettuce and tomato (not to mention it taking about 20 minutes to get our food). Our original waitress didn't come back until I got the check and I made sure she took the cheese off. When I got the bill, we had been billed for 3 sodas and I had water. At that point I just signed the check and left. Maybe they were having an off day, but I was not satisfied with the lackluster service and really no follow up from the waitress. read more

Horrible Service. Went here during the Clinton Power Station Outage. Had the worst service experience I've had all year at any restaurant. I'm from out of town and came with an outage crew of 8 people. I was impressed by the draft beer selection and decor, but it is obvious that they cannot handle a rush of patrons during outage season. Maybe on a normal day this would have been a great experience. The waitress basically never came by, and when she did, she did not ask most of us who arrived later if, we wanted to order food. Other issues involved the wait staff not taking all the necessary orders needed and coming back 30mins later to verify/confirm orders. My recommendation is to avoid this place during outage season. read more

I've watched the younger hispanic cook here in multiple visits go from touching raw burgers and chicken simply wipe his hands off on a dirty rag on his waist and go right back to handling salads and other foods. This is extremely unsanitary and absolutely dangerous to the patrons paying to eat the food. Hire people with the piece of mind to wash their hands when they could be spreading food born illnesses or at the very least follow food and safety protocol and make your cooks wear gloves. I'll never eat a salad here again. read more
