This is THE Shake Shack, not the Shake Shack restaurant chain. Emily and I made plans to visit Analytical Brewing based on a shirt we saw at Evergreen Farm Brewing. While looking for things to do in Lexington, I found that there isn't much due to it being a small town. BUT, there is an ice cream shack right next to the brewery and that was the perfect spot to get some food before putting down a few beers. We pulled up and walked around to the ordering window outside. There was a lady in front of us which gave us time to figure out what we wanted. Emily settled on a philly steak sandwich and I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. We took a seat at one of the tables and waited for our food. There is an indoor seating area and I did go check it out since we had time to kill. I took a glance in and liked what I saw. It had a very diner-esque feel inside. I didn't do more than stick my head in and look around due to the only people inside were some teenage girls. It didn't take too long for the food to come out. Emily and I took our food and headed next door to try and eat it inside the brewery. The bartender said it was a-okay to eat inside. Funny enough, once we sat down, we say a sign on the table that said you can order from your table and it'll either be brought over from The Shake Shack or you can go grab it real quick. We were both starving and we dug in real quick (while sipping our beers, but that post comes next). The buffalo chicken sandwich was delicious! It wasn't too hot or too spicy, which was a bit of a bummer but the flavor and heavy butter flavor in the bun was just what I needed. Emily said her philly steak (minus onions) was possibly the best thing she's ever had... either because she was famished or it was just that good. So, the food is great! At least what we had. How was their ice cream offerings? Funnily, we didn't get any. The idea sounded good after we were done at the brewery but in reality... we were just ready to head home and unwind from everything. The desire was there at least! I have no doubt that if their ice cream is as good as their food, you are in for a treat. If I go back and get their ice cream, I will add a comment in here on how it was. Also, I didn't really get any good photos here so it would be nice to go back and get some better ones.

It's an ordinary burger and nothing special sides, but the small town atmosphere and ice cream here are a delight. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon on our way from St. Louis to Chicago. The (high school?) girls on the staff were cheerful and friendly. We got there right before the local little league team showed up to celebrate a big victory. We sat on the patio and chatted with strangers about our cat over a swirl soft serve cone. It was like a time travel experience to the era before chains.

I was there in Lexington for a street fair. I'm always looking for a good street vendor, but not much choice, so I went to a local establishment. Had an inside eating area and also an outdoor area with a walk-up order window, plenty of outdoor seating, some with umbrellas. The food was amazing. The pulled pork sandwich was perfectly smoked. Hot fresh breaded mushrooms and fried pickles. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Great staff and delicious food. Burgers and Buffalo chicken sandwiches are our favorite items. Don't forget to grab an Ice cream or shake before you leave.

Hand-breaded tenderloin sandwich. Good, a little dry maybe, some mayo might have been nice. I'm not an expert on them, however.

Shake Shack is good food, not fast food. Small dining area, but offers carry out or pick up too. Good selection and serves ice cream treats.

The sourdough bread and butter were exceptionally good as was the hamachi crudo with coconut milk and flavored herbal oil. The lamb appetizer was perfectly cooked although I'd have traded in the pomegranate molasses component for something not as sweet. I ordered the ribeye with beef tallow fries. Both were very flavorful although a little heavy on salt. My companion ordered the sea bass, which was very very good and we wound up splitting a slice of a fruit tart (also excellent). I'm taking a star off for heavy-handed salting but I'd definitely go back. The place definitely has ambience and is located on historic Rte 66. Nice town too

Last night I took my college-aged kids and wife here for my birthday. It was the 4th time I've been and was by far the worst experience. We started w oysters and they were great--both kinds. My kids and I ordered iced teas and got glasses full of ice w a little bit of really watery iced tea. Next were the fries--pretty good but the "aioli" was just mayo w a dash of lemon -- diff than last time. The carrots were also pretty good, but the flavors didn't all come together. We asked for a refill on iced tea and were told "the bar just 86'd iced tea for the night". ??The restaurant seemed discombobulated. The lamb ribs were cooked really well but didn't have much flavor. Our waiter never came by 1x to ask about or food, and when clearing plates never wiped up spilled food from the table. Had high hopes for the main entrees (lemon pasta and halibut w beurre blanc). All of our entrees came to the table lukewarm. The lemon pasta was oily and a little clumpy and didn't taste great. The halibut was overcooked and the beurre blanc had little to no taste. Super disappointing. If this was the first time I had been there I wouldn't go back.

Kemp's is probably the best place to go eat in town it seems. A good reason is because there's not much else. The food is pretty average but there's some good things for adults and families. Chill atmosphere even at times when it's crowded. It's located in the middle of downtown or whatever you call it. There's not a whole lot else to go to for a meal. Certainly explains why it gets busy. People only have a few choices and this is one of these. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail. Whole lot of great stuff including whiskey. It's about $5 to get appetizers. We got the Chips And Salsa. Has a lot of greasy fried things like wings and other meats. The menu is pretty standard as far as fried stuff. Has a lot of the basics. It's closed Sundays. That's pretty strange for them to lose out on all that revenue on weekends.

The staff here was fabulous with a special shout-out to John. What I found particularly impressive was the amazing selection of craft brews for a small town. The staff was particularly knowledgeable about both the selection and even the breweries that supplied them! I even found some of my favorite and uncommon Chicagoland brews, although I selected some excellent brews from the Bloomington/Normal area. ( Drink local!) Food was wonderful and quickly delivered. I gave five stars on food because it is top quality relative to pubs in general. The Blue Cheese burger was great. I sampled the butterflied pork chop sandwich of the other meal we had and that was a standout! Ambiance is nice as if fitting a local pub in an older downtown building. One notable feature is the walls and ceiling are covered in banners and flags of various kinds which dramatically limits the amount of background noise that would normally be in such a building. There is also a nice outdoor beer garden. This local establishment is well worth the extra minutes off Interstate 55. Also highly recommended to cycling who travel out to the northeast terminus of the trail!
