This is a greasy spoon, but popular in Lincoln. We won't be going back having given the place 2 tries for breakfast and dinner. The service was okay, but the food was greasy and subpar for my tastes. Yet, on Sundays the parking lot is pretty full for brunch. I don't get the attraction. read more

Came here on a whim and it was a very nice place. Definitely has a mom and pop style restaurant to it. Got grilled chicken and it was delicious and so were the sweet potato fries, and green beans . My waitress did abandon me though. She also never refilled my drink , but otherwise it was good. read more

I've been bringing a very cancerous sick mother here for over a year now. We're locals; three times a week. The other day; even though IMO himself knows we're VERY regulars; we were left waiting for water for over 25 minutes. I was on a 1 hour timeframe as I was on the clock. The waitress was so non caring that her excuse was that she was "delivering food". What? We didn't even get delivered water and she never even took our order. We had to call another server to even take our order. We live in Lincoln, it was not crowded and busy; yet we were treated horribly. I won't go back to IMOS unless my mother insists with cancer wants to go back. The server; well, she should be fired as locals is all you get in the winter. Word of mouth spreads like a wild fire. Our waitress did not even care. She sneezed on our food and they were all laughing in the kitchen. It grossed us out so much that we paid and just left. We only live in Lincoln, but our waitress treated us so horrible; we're not going back to IMOS and my mom loves IMO. He's a kind man. This server should be fired. We're going back to Cracker Barrel. Went out of town in Lincoln Illinois. Went to Imos cafe cuz it tends me of famous imos pizza in St Louis. But it's different since they serve American food. I ordered gyros sandwich. It's ok and it doesn't look like a sandwich but it's open faced gyros. Lots of tomatoes and feta cheese and less meats. I'd try something else when I come back again. Thank you read more

The quality of food was very poor. The eggs were bland, the omelette fixings were diced too small, the bread was anemic, breaking apart, and barely toasted. The hashbrowns were barely cooked and had as much flavor as cardboard. I decided to try a mid-western "traditional" dish called a horseshoe, which is like an open-faced sandwich covered in fries and smothered in a cheese sauce. Where to begin... The cheese sauce was low-grade canned stuff. The meat I chose was buffalo chicken strips, which were not crispy. They were chopped into small chunks, which I could take or leave, but thought was an odd choice. Unfortunately, the "chicken tenders" were also very low-grade to me. Poor soggy breading, and the meat was reminiscent of those cheap microwave tray dinners from airlines back in the 90s. The broccoli cream soup was great, however. I suspect it's the bagged kind that food services get from Sysco, which is usually pretty good quality. My little one was happy with their breakfast sandwich, but as a 9-year old, I'm sure the palette isn't as refined as the average adult. We only ate about 1/10 of our dishes, and my stomach is reaping the punishment in the bathroom as I type this review not 30 minutes later. Even though we did not eat most of the food and we discussed our displeasure, there was no offer of removing items or a discount. The quality really needs to go up. I feel the menu has some good options, but they need better ingredients, add spices/flavor, and maybe a little more pride in the craft. Otherwise, they should add Pepto on tap to the drink menu. read more

In a new millennium self-service world it nice to get a meal and have excellent table service from a stable and well trained staff, for me that's HUGE & a rarity. The food is tasty, satisfying, hot, fresh and fast. It is also reasonably priced with daily specials and senior menu. Nothing fancy about the decor but it is updated, a clean, and nice family diner ambiance. If I had to state a shortcoming it is the parking, it can be difficult during peak service hours. it's easiest to park around the west side and walk the 150' around if you're able. The fries are the best around btw hot, fresh, crispy on the outside soft center and lightly seasoned. I've had wraps, breakfasts, Friday fish fry and have yet to get a bad meal. Very much your average family style restaraunt for the midwest locale. I had the combination club with fries and applesauce. Overall the sandwich was good and what you would expect to get; bread cooked the way I liked it and the meats were plentiful, but the bacon was a bit undercooked. The fries were pretty bland and the applesauce was as expected. On the service side, we had a very friendly waitress and (who I assume to be the general manager) was very friendly and courteous too. All in all a good experience but nothing blew us out of the water to where we said "can't wait to go back". read more

I have been here several times and usually have a good experience. However, today my order was completely messed up. I ordered the Super Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, onions with fries and chicken soup. I recieved the normal bacon cheeseburger with no fries, no lettuce, no tomato, over cooked burger half the size it should of been. I would give 4 stars if it had not been for this bad experience. Staff is very attentive and friendly. This is a new favorite especially since they serve breakfast all day. They are very accommodating with my little ones food allergy and even offered to make sure nothing was contaminated...which is rare and so pleasing to hear. Just genuine nice staff. Food was actually a larger portion than expected and I love that there are so many options. Omelets were good and cooked perfectly. Love the skillets and crispy hash rows. Picky kids were happy here. Imo's is great.. Have eaten there many times with many different members of my family and have never had a bad meal.. I am sure if the person who complained about his wrong hamburger meal would have told the waitress she would have taken it back and brought him the correct burger.. Going there again TONIGHT and plan to fill my belly along with my wife, brother in law and mother in law who will also be having great meals. read more
