Ok, it's Red Lobster!!!! Red Lobster is known for its seafood and its deals. This restaurant is no better or worse than any Red Lobster. Red Lobster prides itself as a company for seamless service and food. They are doing as they intend. I do not feel this restaurant is any different than any other Red Lobster. This restaurant is being given 3 stars as you wait for a seat in the dinning area no matter what day and time. In this case this is different than let's say the Red Lobster in New Brunswick, NJ. Today we came here just for the Lobster Specials. Our first course was Caesar Salad. It was good. Nothing to write home about. Just good. Second course I had the Lobster & Shrimp Overboard (with Loaded Baked Potato). Best friend had Steak baked potato & broccoli. Our entire meal was good and the waitstaff was good. This place is in trouble. The staff are NICE folks. Always courteous and friendly. But something is going on with the management--can't tell tell if it's understaffing (my guess) or cutting back somewhere but we waited 10 min on a not that busy day just for a table. Then a half an hour for the order to be taken (I was clocking the time as we had an hour and ten for a work lunch and time was ticking.) The poor waiter came back just in seconds under my timer (at which we would walk as we had to go back to work.) Took our order, simple soup and salad lunch. My soup, lukewarm of course, was the lobster bisque. It was salty and soapy tasting and if a lobster walked by it, I would be surprised. It was disgusting. The salad with grilled shrimp was cold but the shrimp were not fresh. They were grilled days before and stiff and off-tasting. I refused the order. My colleague was ok with her same lunch except for it being clam chowder. We tipped the waiter including extra for the returned order taken off our bill, and got out of there almost 2 hours later, only one of us ate. The place was dirty. Tables sat unbussed for quite a while. The silverware was scummy. This tells me staff is lacking. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were really good. One star for those. The lobster tank had two dispirited lobsters awaiting execution, but I think they may be treated as we do death row felons: they will have plenty of years to submit some appeals. read more

All four meals were poor quality, overcooked, smallish portions. This place is basically Long John Silvers at four times the price. If you are looking for seafood in the Dover area, don't go here. I have only been to this Red Lobster once before in 2012 when we moved here from Maryland. The food was good before COVID. We decided to go there for our 59th birthday meal. It was kind of dark and empty but we thought it was ok no crowd. Took a little time be seated but the waitress was nice. But I did notice all the people of color were seated in the same area. And I mentioned it to my husband. And the booth she sat us in the seats were woren with holes in them. Still we sat we had a whole night planned. Food was a little greasy but ok . I was finishing up and drinking my iced tea and was half thro when I noticed something floating in my tea and asked my husband to look at it. Well it was a big nasty fly. And we called the waitress and the air changed and the manager came out in a coat. She acted like we put it there. And was like will 25 percent do I was so mad I said yes and still paid 53 dollars. Dover, DE Red lobster. Poor welcome experience. We and 3 other couples waited almost 4 minutes before someone finally came to the reception desk. This was at abut 4 in the afternoon and the room was mostly unoccupied. I had the featured Dueling Crab Legs. They didn't look as appealing as pictured and the taste was blah. I'd had the Ultimate Feast just the week before in Long Island, NY and the crab was so flavorful that I didn't need butter. This crab had a very fishy and flat taste. The corn was pale and I described it as "shallow kernels" almost like eating the mini corn cobs in Chinese dishes. Not very much in each bite. I don't know if this is just particular to Delaware but I think I'll stick to Walt's Favorite Shrimp if I go back to this location. read more

Our experience at Red Lobster in Dover has always been excellent. Food is delicious, timely and hot. I usually order the coconut shrimp. My spouse wants to go there in her birthday every year. Haven't been to Red Lobster in awhile but my wife and I were looking forward to going, we generally enjoy their food but on this occasion it was a total disappointment. When we arrived the restaurant was pretty much empty, however my wife and I waited at the reception area for approximately 15 minutes before we were even welcomed and seated. After being seated the waiter was pretty nice, he came over and took our order which included an appetizer. Dinner came out and I mentioned to the waiter that we never received the appetizer he checked into it and came up with a lame excuse so I just told him to cancel it. I use to love Walt's shrimp but these had a weird taste to them and a little mushy inside, fries were good though. My wife got scallops in garlic sauce and baked fish. The scallops were so small they were drowning in the sauce, she had to scoop them out and place them on here plate, didn't look appealing and definitely didn't taste to good, she said the fish was just ok. We were really disappointed in Red Lobster for letting the quality of their food go down, I wouldn't recommend this location. read more

Had the absolute worst experience and food at Dover Delaware Red Lobster Friday evening. First we waited fifteen minutes before the server even acknowledged us at the table to take our order. That set the tone for subpar service we got. Secondly the food was horrible. Ordered create your own combo. The Walts favorite shrimp tasted like they were extremely old and strong that they tried to mask by coating them heavily in breeding. The shrimp linguini alfredo noodles weren't done and the sauce was very watery. The biscuits had zero flavor to them and tasted like Jiffy corn muffin mix. I mentioned to the server how disappointed I was in the food and she said oh well I'll say something to the manager. She never did. She brought the check over I said to her I was still waiting for a manager. No manager ever came over. The server took my credit card off the table and charged me for the whole meal without even saying another word. It's amazing how the quality has diminished since Red Lobster broke away from Darden. I will not be returning anytime soon if the service and food is going to be as horrible as this. $57 wasted on inedible food. read more

I was limited with deliveries from Grubhub / Ubereats and settled for Red Lobster in Dover, DE. What a disappointment. The salad was sent with wilted lettuce. Couldn't eat it. Didn't want to get sick. The biscuits were ruined. They arrived soggy, wet and crumbled. The steak had no taste. The baked potato did not come with the requested butter and sour cream and the Lobster Bisque soup was so thick and salty I had to water it down. It was more like paste than soup. This was suppose to be my Birthday dinner. I would've had a better experience from a fast food restaurant. This chain restaurant is horrible in Dover, DE. Red Lobster in Dover used to be a good place to go for an ok place for seafood. That was about 15 years ago. Nowadays it isn't so good. They used to ask you if you wanted "fresh ground pepper." Not any more. Their shrimp has gotten much, much smaller, as has their salads. I've also noticed that if you come with any kids you are relegated to the front section. Yes, restaurants, us customers always notice where you stick us when we bring the kids and don't usually like it. A few years ago I tried a salmon and was sadly disappointed. This had to be the worst dining experience that I have had in a long time. It was homecoming Saturday for Delaware State. My family of six were visiting from Howard University. Went to the Red Lobster after the game. The restaurant was out of everything. The waiter came back first and said that they didn't have any clean glasses and asked if we didn't mind plastic cups. We then ordered calamri, broccoli, cesar salad, Each time we ordered the waiter said that they didn't have it. The waiter came back a few minuets later and said that they found some calamri. That was kind of weird too, that they found some calamri. We went on to place our order. We asked to speak to the manager. When the manager came, we told him about our experience. He was very quick to put the blame on the waiter for not reading the the memos before his shift. Let's get one fact out of the way: this is a chain restaurant. Don't go in here with high expectations or you will sorely disappointed. That being said... I went here with my family to celebrate my mom's birthday on Sunday (07/27) and we were seated fairly quickly (although the hostess seemed a little annoyed at one of the waiters for not giving her enough menus to prepare for us). Our server, Darrell, was pleasant, courteous, and gave us plenty of time to finish our meals. I was tempted to order a full-on dinner portion, but since we had arrived so early in the day (it was not quite 1:30), I decided to order one of their lunch specials, which was jumbo lump crab cakes. For my sides, I ordered green beans and broccoli, both of which came steamed. I will say that the beans and broccoli were steamed just right, retaining their green color while still being soft enough to chew and digest easily. The crab cakes were good, although I was slightly bummed that I only got two. The dipping sauce that came with it was also very good (Sriacha mixed with olive oil). For the most part, my family enjoyed their meals, although my mom wasn't very happy with the consistency of her green beans (she prefers her steamed veggies mushy). But I have to say this was a good experience overall, and I'd come here again if given the chance. read more

I have been too this location several times and the food is normally what is expected however service at this location tends to be hit or miss. I ordered the special which was one and a half pound lobster with fries and green beans. it's around noon and restaurants not crowded at all. The hostess was attentive and courteous. Seated at my table found my waitress to be very pleasant and professional. If you're lucky enough to get Brittany as a waitress you'll probably be served well. To the food the lobster was prepared to perfection! Every aspect of the lobster was delicious from the tail to the claws. The green beans well prepared just right as if I steam them myself. I didn't eat much of the fries but they were good as well. Top it all off with a winter lager from Samuel Adams cold from the bar.
