Not being someone who regularly goes to the large chain restaurants, mainly because they aren't around in the Portland city center and because I don't have a car to get to the outskirts of the area. I just don't go to that many especially since there's so much good food around. But, I was down in Texas and my father's wife is selective about where she eats. Fish is a safe option and Red Lobster has plenty of options for her. I hadn't set foot in a Red Lobster in at least 20 years. It's very different, but they still have those great cheddar bay biscuits. The menu had many familiar items although the prices have gone up some, but a free meal is a free meal. There was a crab leg themed menu going on with some crab boil specials going on as well. Not a bad option for a rather impressive amount of food. I got a plate with crab, shrimp, mussels and scallops in a tomato garlic broth. It kept me occupied for quite some time. Really great service and our food was out fairly quick. The salad wasn't as impressive as the meal itself but more of the biscuits were welcome. You know, this meal was pretty good, I'm sure I'll have to make my way back to a Red Lobster a lot sooner that two decades. The poor DoorDash deliver person was apparently waiting at Red Lobster for 30 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready. And when I received my order, my "lobster tail" was basically the size of two small shrimp. The crab legs and sides were good, as were the biscuits (though cold). If you're ordering delivery or to-go crab legs, they do include a cracking tool, but scissors are quite a bit easier. read more

I'm not normally a big seafood person. I like shrimp, salmon, and I'll eat the occasional tuna fish sandwich. That's about the extent to which I seek out seafood. But, "endless shrimp" is amazing so my girlfriend and I decided to visit the Denton Red Lobster for our 3rd anniversary. All in all, the experience was a positive one with a few little issues. Strangely, one of the issues popped up almost immediately. We gave our order and couldn't help but notice that the place was quite warm. Uncomfortably warm in fact. This is Texas so there just isn't cause to use a heater very often, but that's almost what it felt like. Issue number two came with the first course of our order; the salads. We each ordered Caesar Salad and were both shocked to find it was made with Iceberg lettuce. I don't know if they ran out of romaine lettuce and had to use it as a sub (I'd have rather they just stopped offering it than make it with Iceberg) or if that's just how they make it. But it was not very good at all. The shaved cheese was nice and the croutons were fresh and tasty, but the overall appearance and flavor was just not appealing at all. But that's just the salad. Who cares, right? The bread was delicious so we nibbled on that while waiting for the shrimps. As always, their cheddar biscuits are amazing. Tasty, fresh, warm, and just delicious. The shrimps arrived and any complaints or issues were quickly forgotten. I tried the Teriyaki grilled shrimps and the hand breaded ones as well and even their cocktail sauce was amazing. Normally that red shrimp sauce is nasty at any other place. Not here. Here it was just the right level of tangy and it had an amazing texture. I used almost the entire serving they provided. My girlfriend got the Garlic scampi and enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed mine. I almost never go for seconds, but endless shrimp is endless shrimp so I ended up ordering another plate. All in all the experience was pretty darn good. And I'd go back again for sure... so long as they keep the endless shrimp option on the menu anyway. :) read more

I don't know what the negative reviews are about. Service was great (thanks Caleb, yelp famous), food was great, atmosphere was nice, restaurant was clean. We ordered simple dishes (coconut shrimp for me, chicken strips with lobster tail for her). Cheddar biscuits kept us occupied while we waited, and food came to table very well prepared. The only negative, it's expensive. But hey, good seafood usually is. Denton needs a pappadeaux's but this will do in the meantime. read more

Only reason I'm giving 2 stars was that our server was excellent, attentive and sweet. When my friend and I first walked in, the manager Mary (we asked for her name!) Said she'd be with us. Then proceeded to have several staff she was talking to but not seating us after SEVERAL mins went by. My friend finally asked if we could at least get seated. A larger set woman said she was waiting for an employee to come to the front (despite several employees being at the desk). We overheard her make a huffy comment. Then at the table they didn't offer a glass with the beer and when they brought one, it wasn't frosted. Again, we overheard them in the back say "OH MY GOD!!" Conclusion: Don't - just don't. While the ads are tempting, the quality is extremely low and the prices extremely high. Both my wife and I still have indigestion from the food and the bill for two of us was nearly $100 . Pros: the drinks are actually good and at decent mid level prices. the staff is excellent. Very friendly helpful people. Tip them well if you do decide to go because they will have to put up with the complaints about the expensive yucky food and they do it with a smile. . Cons: the food. it bears repeating - the food is the number one con. Low quality, poorly cooked shellfish. Mostly overcooked but for us they tried to even the average as our bay scallops and lobster were tough and fishy however the sea scallops were almost raw. Really some of the worst shellfish we have had anywhere in the country. With prices 32-40 per entree for the splurge items there are better ways to spend it. read more

Very poor customer service this is my second time visiting this location and the host staff is very unwelcoming and that's sad the first interaction has to be such an unpleasant spirit. We walk in and we literally have servers and host walking past us like we are not guest waiting to be seated. 1st and 2nd time this has happen. Then they eventually after several minutes walk up and say "oh were you all wanting to be seated" like really what else are we there to do. There was hair in my son food the first time and the manager was very apologetic and fixed the issue. So I am in favor of giving people second chances and this is my community so I want to support the restaurants in my community. Unfortunately this second time same thing happen when we walk in that happen the first time only this time the host greeted us by saying "the menu is very limited and off the the top of my head I don't know what it is that we are not serving but it is very limited do you all still want to be seated". I can't imagine the corporate would train this staff to act in a manner as such it's not ok and it's not reflective of red lobster standard and procedures. So, I went in to pick up a 'to go' order. The bartender, a little red headed female, ignored me as I stood there for about 8 minutes. She finally asked me what I needed. I informed her that I was picking up and order and gave her the name. She said, "Ok, I'll check on it." Well, she didn't. Instead, she stopped to visit with two bar patrons for another 7-9 minutes. One of the patrons looked at me, raised his eyebrows and shrugged his shoulders because he knew it wasn't right and felt uncomfortable. She finally went and asked for my order and someone else brought it right out to me. The food is good but they really need to address customer service. "Hostess" sat us in her section after arguing with another server about who should get the table from what I could tell most servers already had a table. Most people would want multiple tables to make more money but apparently that was not the case here. She sat us (myself and my son) with one set of silverware and said she'd back. From what I could tell she had a 6top and was more interested in that table. She came back 5min later to get our drink order. We were ready to place our entire order at that time. We ordered half dozen oysters, and childs lobster tail meal, and a shrimp basket with soup and a tomato salad. A few minutes later a new waitress came to tell us she was taking over gave our drinks and left. Biscuits came out and I had to ask for silverware since I needed a napkin. Next came my soup. Another 15 min later the waitress came back to ask what our order consisted of because she couldn't read the other servers writing. At this point we still didn't have an appetizer. A few minutes later appetizer came out and they were the tiniest oysters ever but even worse that had a dirty flavor to them. Not like good fresh oysters. A manager walked by and I told him we'd been there 40 min at that point and explained service etc. I had to ask him for a refill on my sons drink. It appeared our waitress only had one table and she couldn't even keep drinks refilled. Our food finally arrived and my sons kid meal was more presentable than my meal. The manager took care of the check and I did leave a tip. I highly advise against this restaurant. My son asked to go here because he'd never been. But we will never return. Training needs to be done on their servers and further work needs to be done on food quality and presentation. Our bill for the two of us would have totaled about $41 for an adult and one child. I have attempted to dine here on 3 different occasions. I have never made it into the dining room. Tonight I walked into a waiting area full of diners. Once we reached the hostess we were "informed that she was wanting to be transparent " that the wait time was at least 30 minutes and that they were terribly short staffed to the degree that once we would be seated the probability of receiving any quality of service would be doubtful. It was the same story the other 3 times we attempted to dine there. I understand staffing is an issue but why is it that the other 3 surrounding establishments are staffed well enough to serve patrons. This seems like poor management or a toxic work environment. I don't enjoy posting negative reviews, so this one has taken me a long time to contemplate. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in a long time and this one in particular even longer. We were looking for somewhere to kill an hour before Texas Roadhouse opened after having appetizers at Olive Garden and landed at the bar top here. First off, I want to make clear that none of this feedback is the fault of any employee we encountered, they were all 100% friendly, helpful, attentive, and did the best they could within their power to make this visit a positive for us. The bugs were obnoxious... that should have been my first clue. Then the bartender said she didn't think they had any draft beer... that it had been down for a few weeks (it's Friday at 3pm) She went to check and came back happy to report that they had fixed the draft beer system and they did, in fact, have Miller Light on draft. She poured two and as soon as I took one sip I knew that it did not taste right and I couldn't drink it. Dad said the same and we asked for bottles. She was very apologetic and kind about it and tried pouring two new ones to see if it was just that they were the first ones and no... she got us bottles and brought biscuits. Remembering how much I liked the biscuits, I bit into one even though I knew we were heading to Roadhouse and even the biscuits were not the same. This all makes me sad to post, but nothing has an opportunity to improve if everyone ignores opportunities for improvement. read more

After the manager left, even his own staff apologized for the way he carried himself and were more helpful than he was. my family and I ate at the location in Denton , Tx. There was a slight wait of about 10 minutes. The host seated us without menus or silverware at a booth when we had requested a half booth, half table and the restaurant was filled with dirty tables. we asked him to move us to a table, my husband is handicapped and it is difficult for him to sit in a booth. We were moved to a different dinning room where there were several more dirty tables. The server who took care of us , became angry after I talked to the floor manager and complained about the condition of the dining room. It took at least 20 min or longer to get our food and she forgot the salads we had ordered and I asked her to take them off of our check. That was the last time we saw her. Another server walked past and brought us refills and to go boxes , then the floor manger came out again with our bill at which time we expressed again our dissatisfaction with our experience. She offered us a $10 gift card that we declined as we will never go there again. We double checked our bill when we got home and found we were still charged for salads we never got. This location is a mix of good and bad. The food has consistently been adequate, and it is of course their main business. We've ordered the Red Lobster standards as well as the seasonals and we've not been disappointed by the quality or quantity of food. The service here is a bit hit or miss. A friendly hostess entertained by showing off the lobsters in front. But it's been a common experience to have bad waiters. Red Lobster recently stated they periodically reassess how their advertising dollars align with their values, and we do the same with our dining dollars. So I don't think we will be back. read more

Zero Stars Food is horrible at this location. Worst food I've ever had at Red Lobster. Fried shrimp tasted frozen and like it was all bread and soggy and cold.
