The pasta dish was not good. The noodles were slimy, starchy, and over cooked. I had the shrimp with pasta as well as two more in our party had a pasta dish. It was one of the worst I have eaten and them as well. Need to do better especially for $25 meal plus drinks. read more

So usually i love chain restaurants like Olive Garden or Outback but Red Lobster is awful. The server we got couldn't have been less unhappy with her job. We never got straws for our drinks, the famous cheddar biscuits never arrived until we asked multiple times and we're finished with our meal. The menu has little variety and the food was mediocre at best. My coleslaw was rotten with black spots on the cabbage. This was my first and last dining experience at Red Lobster. I can't speak for the chain in general but this location was horrible in every way possible. read more

DON'T ORDER ONLINE!!! I placed an online order for carry out tonight. Apparently, the order didn't go through their system. However, my credit card was charged for the order. The manager of the local Red Lobster in Bloomington, IL said it wasn't their problem that I was charged for an order that was lost in their system. I had a copy of the order that was placed but they didn't care. Was told it was a problem for Corporate and to contact them. Not very helpful when Corporate closes at 4 pm Central time. Great service and great food. We had no wait on a Friday night and we decided to do the unlimited shrimps. They had great options and we tried all 4 of them. Shrimp linguine, garlic shrimp, teriyaki shrimp and bread shrimp. My personal favorites is teriyaki shrimp because they are light and easy to conquer. They had a great teriyaki flavors. After finding a few places closed on a Monday evening we ended up here, and I'm glad we did because it was an enjoyable meal. I havent been to a Red Lobster is probably 10 years but I've never forgotten how amazing their cheddar bay biscuits are. We were seated right away and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our dinner. We ordered the white wine and garlic mussels which was good, perfect for sopping up with bread - not poorly seasoned but could use just a tad more. We ordered the lobster tacos, lobster mashed potato, and the ultimate feast. Over all food was enjoyable. The shrimp scampi was oily but still pretty good. The tacos were good and so was the mashed potato. I was stuck between a 3 and 4 rating so i'd say it was a 3.5 and i rounded up. read more

Red Lobster is my favorite "chain restaurant." They have fantastic food and service. The restaurant is clean and they have excellent fly control. We often come here for business lunches and the WiFi is much appreciated since we're looking to break out the laptops and tablets. It's also FAST! They have great options for people who don't like seafood. I find the Presto terminals very convenient and love being able to make my payment without waiting for staff to bring out a paper check. This wasn't my first trip here, but I'd never written a review. So here we go... My wife and I went about 5pm on Thursday and were seated immediately. They have a descent special right now where 2 can dine for $29.99. It's a 3-course meal that includes 2 salads, biscuits (ohhhhhh the biscuits), 2 dinner entrees and choice of either an appetizer or dessert. I wasn't crazy about the entree options, so we didn't try this tonight. What we did order was delicious! I had the Admiral's Feast that consisted of Walt's Favorite (breaded & butterflied) Shrimp, bay scallops (fried), clam strips (fried) and flounder fried to a golden brown. I had a Ceasar Salad that had way too many lettuce spines and not enough leafy greens for my taste. Also threw in mashed potatoes that were 'Meh'. This ran me $16.99. My wife chose the Peach-Bourbon BBQ Shrimp and Scallops (minus the Scallops since they came bacon wrapped and she's eating more vegetarian these days). Anyway, the BBQ Shrimp were skewered, wood-grilled jumbo shrimp glazed with a sweet peach-bourbon BBQ sauce, served over crispy onion rings. I was lucky enough to get one bite of this and it was AWESOME! I highly recommend it!! Think it was around $15.99. We both had water and even with our $4.00 off coupon, the meal cost around $31 (minus tip). Red Lobster is always a pricey decision, but if you want seafood in my immediate area, this is the closest thing going. The wait staff were mostly college students and were very friendly. Despite my 2 year old's attempts to run in front of them (what can I say, he got bored), they politely dodged him and were sweet to him. By the time we left, it was getting very busy (still no wait, but all tables appeared full). This was just after 6pm. I know the weekends usually have a wait starting around 6pm, so come early! Overall, we were pleased with this visit. The place appears clean and it's a pleasant experience. We'll be back. read more

I was so looking forward to a birthday lunch my friend was splurging on for me. The food was pretty good, and I think we both liked our selections, but the wait person and one in tow, (in training) must have come by our table at least 5 times asking how things were going, interrupting our conversations. (My friend and I hadn't seen each other in months and were in deep conversation.) Even the manager stopped by to inquire. This annoyed us so much, we decided to give the place one more chance before deciding if we'll even go there again because we don't want to be put through this same torture. We NEVER made any signals that we wanted additional service till the end of the meal, asking for containers for our left overs. I'm searching for "restaurant etiquette" just to find out how to ask for less service. This is a new one on me. How to ask for LESS SERVICE. The service was good here and the location is easy to access. It is your typical Red Lobster setting and smell. A few problems occurred while visiting. I want to point out that everyone was friendly and by no means would any of our problems be our waiters fault. We ordered the pick 2 appetizer which we thought was 8.75. We picked the stuffed mushrooms and clam strips. They added 1.99 for the stuffed mushrooms to our final bill making the total for the appetizer 10.74. I would not mind that so much had it been worth it. The clam strips were heavily salted and the mushrooms were the size of quarters!! There were probably a total of 4 quarter sized mushrooms. Come on now, that is ridiculous. My husband ordered the clam strips and he did not get very many clam strips on his plate. He asked the server (which was not our server) if that was the dinner order and she said yes but she could get her manager. He asked her if it looked like it was worth 12.99 she said yes but she would get her manager. When our server arrived he said that he actually got the kids meal and he had more coming. Why on earth would the girl say that a kids meal looks like an adult dinner meal is beyond me. We noticed that everything is getting smaller and we are being charged more. The salads are even smaller! I did like my meal and I did not leave hungry. It's just an observation worth noting that the seafood is shrinking at Red Lobsters. read more

Great, super-friendly service, and a decent value for seafood. Quantity is the name of the game at Red Lobster. I had the 1.5 lbs of King Crab and something was just off about them. Too salty and too mushy, I'm not sure if they were overcooked or not fresh. For $28 it really was a waste of money. Next time I'll stick to a whole lobster which you know is fresh and it's hard to screw up in the kitchen. The hand-crafted lemonade was excellent, but the poor seafood earns this Red Lobster two stars. Do yourself a favor and head to Lucky Garden nearby for really excellent sushi and asian food. read more

Food was okay, but service was terrible. I took my mother and father in law as well as my wife and our 7 month old son out for dinner here, last time I will ever eat here. After noticing the place was half empty we were told it would be 45 mins for a table since the fire marshal had told them their floor space was too small to seat high chairs anywhere but against the wall. We waited since it was my mother in laws b-day. The waitress showed up and took our drink and food order at the same time and never showed again, someone else brought everything out. The waitress walked past our table more times than I can count without even stopping to ask if anyone needed a drink even after they had been empty for 15 mins plus. I feel that the place is in desperate need of a remodel and the service staff needs to be cleaned out, I paid almost 250.00 for the four of us to eat and wasn't so much as offered a second drink. read more

Chain restaurant and I am sure not all will be pleased i have found some dishes to be better than others. I went with an old lunch standby Crab Alfredo that I had not tried in years. But my weight is down cholesterol is good why not celebrate a little? The dish was as rich as ever yummy good and the salads are always fresh tasting. My wife had the tilapia tacos and loved them they are on the 7.99 menu. Price was not a great deal but what I expected for a nice sit down lunch of seafood in the midwest. My boyfriend loves Red Lobster and I love shrimp.  But if you have been to Red Lobster before you know that everything is served with dairy.  It is really ridiculous.  I was lucky to have a very concerned waitress but it doesn't help when majority of the menu contains dairy.  The biscuit batter contains dairy before they even add the cheddar cheese and butter on top of the biscuit.  The salad comes with cheese in it (What happened to a simple salad?).  Most of the menu items contain dairy, I had to beg for plain grilled shrimp with no butter or breading.   I suggest you avoid this restaurant if you are dairy free, it is not a dairy free friendly restaurant. read more

As with any Red Lobster, a place where you're going to drop nearly $100 for two people to eat, we have a certain expectation when we come in. They weren't very far off of the mark this time. Our server whose name was Dawn Michelle, who described herself as a Native American, was an excellent server one of the best I've ever seen. The food was not really exceptional but it was adequate. They have fallen back more on their reputation than they have the quality of their food. It's a little bit Bland and need some life somewhere in it but it was okay. I have gut issues and can't have most food on any standard menu. I usually have to have food made a certain way -- super plain, basically. :) And she got me exactly what I needed, no problem. Went to Red Lobster at 2:30 on Saturday....today. NOT a good choice. Daughters' 'Fish and Chips' were very good. Husband's "Shrimp salad" qualified on neither the shrimp nor the salad descriptions; his accompanying lobster bisque had 73 % of dmv sodium requirement. I had the 'fresh' salmon......wood grilled....YUCK...portion was skimpy ....3 oz at best; dry and over cooked; broccoli was good but "squash and zucchini " were soggy and barely recognizable. $12.99 because it was before 3:00.......I think I ate the regular lunch crowd leftovers.....ugh. Restaurant was almost empty , yet we didn't get any rolls/attention for some time. The Chocolate Wave cake was decadent and good. I don't usually leave really bad reviews but this one is definitely deserved. Went here for dinner last night and haven't been so disgusted and disappointed in a long time. Service was slow but that was due to a large group which I understand. When we did get our food two of the entrees had at least two black hairs in each. When we brought this to the attention of the manager he only took a few dollars off the entrees and that was it. The manager even attempted to joke around about the situation. We decided to leave and not make a scene at the restaurant but I know a lot of people would have. Be cautious about eating here! read more

Yes, its another chain. But... best caesar salad in town. Why? They serve it in a bowl that's been in the freezer so the lettuce is nice and crisp. Small but important touch to salad lovers. Also, cheddar bay biscuits... you can get stuffed on these and the salad alone. I love the shrimp here, especially the new wood grilled options they have. But if you want the best without getting stuffed, a fantastic lunch option is the clam chowder, caesar salad and the biscuits. yummy. read more
