Situated exactly by a 2 minute by bike ride or 30 second car ride from my front door, this is my go to coffee shop. Fun atmosphere with great music and amazing coffee. My only criticism is they open at 630 am on weekdays. I go to work pretty early and don't always get to stop by on my way to work, but their coffee makes the trips worth it when I can make it, or I just don't mind being late for work that day. One of my favorite coffee shops in northwest Arkansas. We stop here 2-3 times/week, and are always greeted with fast and friendly service. I love their cold brew coffee, both in the shop and theirs I brew at home. Their shop is always clean, and beautifully decorated. Our 3-year-old always wants "coffee" with us, so they make her a chocolate milk and put it in a super small coffee cup with a sleeve and everything. That always makes her feel special. We're in Springdale a couple times a month, and I always try to make it to Onyx. I love that they have a focus on ethically and locally sourced ingredients. Yes, their prices are a little higher than your standard coffee place, but it's worth it. Their iced mocha is one of my favorite coffee drinks I've had from any coffee shop. It's got a great dark chocolate flavor with a hint of sweetness. It's not overwhelmingly rich or sweet, so the espresso really shines. read more

Friendly staff, good service. Fresh roasted coffee and cold brew coffee. Fun to watch the process. I loved the latte. Perfect amount of coffee flavor, not burnt tasting. The drip coffee was a little too light roasted for my taste. My husband and I tried three different of the drip and Americano, thought they were all a little sour. Some people like that, it's just not my favorite. They sell nothing larger than 16 oz coffees. I guess I understand because of the whole 'small batch' thing but I still want a bigger coffee, I can't help it. I would go back for a latte. I wish it was a little bit better ..Took me 25min to get there from my house I was dying to try the coffee here on the Facebook page they put a lot a pictures so i saw something similar to macchiato I was all about it ..I went there trying to tell the cashier that I want macchiato he was we don't have that so I asked for something similar to it but nah I got a coffee but nothing to what I was craving for .i loved the pie and the macaroons though they were good but way to expensive so probably I would never go again read more

Great product and service. Highly recommend. A friend recommended Onyx, so my son and I gave it a go. My son is 9, so he's looking for some type of sweet drink and snack rather than a great coffee experience. This is probably one of the my more exotic cafe that has really cool drinks to try out. It is a little foreign if you're not a regular coffee drinker but the workers are so nice to see what you're feeling! Meet someone here for a high-powered business meeting for 8am coffee. Not a coffee person at heart - soda please. Having said that, my go to Grown-up coffee is a latte and have become pretty snobbish on my sissy coffee drink. They make an awesome one here. Loved the little splash of cinnamon and couple other spice surprises. Atmosphere is great. Well laid out and a little more rustic but cleaner than that other chain place. Like the better selection of breakfast treats such as quiche to go along with lots of good looking pastries. This used to be Onyx coffee Lab, which was phenomenal. They are now now Red Kite coffee which still serves Onyx, and they do a pretty good job at it. Not all old menu items are still available, and they don't take Onyx gift cards, but good coffee non the less. read more

I travel from Tulsa (2.5 hours) to get coffee from these guys. I walk up to the door at 8pm (they close at 9pm), I reach for the door... And it is locked. I stand there perplexed because there are 30 people inside. I knock, they all hear me, and no one answers. I read the small sign written on a napkin hanging on the inside of the door. Says, "sorry, we are closed for a staff meeting." Thanks for the kindness and consideration to put that basic info on your website, guys. Come on, America. read more

There is simply no comparison the thought and science that goes into a cup of Onyx brew. They don't call it a coffee lab without reason. Seems like every time I go there I see a fascinating new brew technique in progress. Best part is they roast the beans in house where you can watch the process. I LOVE ONYX COFFEE LAB! It is (IMO) the best coffee shop in NWA. The atmosphere is very casual and welcoming. The staff is very helpful if you're not sure what you want or if you need suggestions. Their drinks are always spot on. I love their attention to detail- especially the beautiful latte art when I'm dining in. Also- all of their coffee is roasted in house- just behind the bar, so you know what you are getting is fresh. I love that I can buy a bag of their delicious beans and enjoy them at home (knowing it hasn't been sitting on some shelf for months). They also have amazing sandwiches and pastries from James at the Mill. My kids love stopping in for a sweet treat. I definitely recommend Onyx if you are at all interested in coffee. My almond milk latte was fabulous. The man making my drink was very friendly. But the coffee shop itself was strange. Set in the corner of a strip mall with very little parking. The interior reminded me of a hookah lounge. A very eclectic group of patrons. Not a warm cozy coffee shop vibe. The menu was extremely limited.
