The beet salad is definitely solid offering. Fresh earthy goodness. My dining companion gobbled up the lasagna which paired well w/a Scotch. The flatbread w/the balsamic is a tasty healthy treat. When a lighter offering is called for. My dining companions indulged in adult beverages while I was the designated driver. The adult spirits do not disappoint - the staff are all trained bartenders. They also engaged in conversation with us when they had a chance. Recommended plates: nachos add brisket and the half chicken. The meat for both dishes with so tender. We were at dinner there on 10-04-2025. They sat us at a table there the cold air came in through a door. It was so cold that my husband and I had our coats buttoned up like we were outside. I ordered the brisket and it was tough and fatty. Half of the portion was fat. The mashed potatoes were flavorless and the "homemade barbeque sauce" was runny and did not have a lot of flavor. the best parts of the meal were the cocktail that was a raspberry mule and the desert, a brownie in a cast iron pan with ice cream. The waitress made excuses for everything and I am not sure I will go back there. If I do, it will be for a hamburger. read more

I was really looking forward to this dinner, but it fell far short unfortunately. The Good: The staff was very friendly. They sat us quickly (we did have reservations) and always had smiles on their faces. 10/10 for how inviting and accommodating they are. The nacho appetizer was really good, I would go back to share those with a friend and a couple of drinks. The sweet potato fries that my friend had with his salmon were good as well. The bad: Service took a while (they were busy it was a Friday night), and the waitress (although very pleasant) never checked back on our food, cleared our drinks from the table, and was absent. Again, she was busy, and I could see her working hard, but she wasn't efficient. The food is where it really fell flat for me. My wife's steak sandwich (comes on a weird white bread) was just not flavorful. Her fries were good, but we hardly ate it. They say it's ribeye, not saying they're lying, but I have cooked a ton of ribeyes in my life, and it seemed like a cheaper cut of meat. My pork shank was OK (3/5), but not a ton of flavor (although the crispy outside was good). My friends salmon was just not good. THe sauce over the top was decent, but the salmon was thin, overcooked (asked for Medium) and dry. If you're going to ask for $35-$45 plates, food needs to step up. read more

We booked on Wednesday for a Friday night date night and it did not disappoint! They had a table reserved for us inside but one opened up on the patio so we opted for that instead. There are a couple outdoor eating areas but we were seated on the deck. The lower outdoor eating area is wheelchair accessible. My husband did go inside at one point and said it has fun decor/vibe. Our server was very friendly and provided excellent service. She mentioned our food might take a while to come out but it really didn't take long at all. We managed to come during happy hour so my husband had a $3 beer and I had the cherry limeade (non-happy hour). We ended up ordering the mushroom bruschetta, pork and kimchi tacos, and filet mignon + crab cake. We were pleasantly surprised with how fantastic the food turned out! This was plenty of food for the two of us so we did end up taking some home. My favorite was the mushroom bruschetta and the crab cake from the entree. There is a crunchy deep friend coating around a generously portioned crab cake that has a good amount of crab vs. filler inside. It was fluffy and flavorful so I ate a majority of it. The tacos were delicious too with a decent amount of pork (there could have been a bit more kimchi). We ordered the filet as medium and it still came out very tender. We will definitely be back and see it as a fun place to come as a group for drinks and good food. read more

We came to the Red House on Friday evening at 8:00PM for cocktails and were seated right away. They have paper menus and QR codes for menus. I ordered the Mezcal Orange Margarita-this Margarita packs quite a punch with smokey orange! This was a great cocktail for anyone who likes spicy and fruity drinks. While our visit here was short, we will be coming back to enjoy their food-the only reason we did not eat here was because we came from dinner-we regretted not ordering food and were eyeing the other tables. read more

If you don't like your food, better tell them right away or they'll just tell you to f*** off and pay for it. **make sure to ask what their policy is for food before you order. they don't tell you till it's applicable to them.** I ordered the bar burger and sliced a piece off and the tooth pick was still holding the burger. I saw what looked to be medium rare but was totally raw. The server didn't come around after I had tried it so I waited at the end of the meal to let him know since he never came back to our table. There were still all the fries on the plate, and a 80% burger left on the plate. Most times when I'm at a restaurant, they will usually take off the meal since I didn't eat it and sent it back. Yet the manager said there was policy that nobody was told about. When I was trying to bring up my concern, they told me I was wrong, and a policy that I was not aware of. Even though I had shown him the other 20% of the burger that I had spit out on the napkin, he literally played dumb and said that it could be anything. That is when I knew he wasn't there to serve the customers but to make sure that the $18 burger wasn't going to come out of his paycheck. Lol, what a joke. I've never had this kind of experience at any restaurant. Let alone with a manager who is supposed to be professional and cater to the customers. The manager was disrespectful to the max and he would not let us have a word in. At that point, he was arguing with us and we decided to ignore him and walk out the restaurant after paying the whole bill. Looking back at the other reviews, seems like we're not the first people to have TERRIBLE customer service and a bad interaction with the manager. Seems like he's known as the rude manager that will yell at you till he gets what he wants. Overall dining experience, the food was mediocre and the price did not justify the quality and quantity of food you do get. The food is not good, sauces are really bad. The plating is really odd and not pretty at all. Let alone the service that you come in for at a supposedly really good restaurant. The restaurant itself looks like a makeshift from an old house. Has really odd decorations and old wooden chairs that creak and one of the chairs my friend sat on broke. Time for some new ones! Maybe they can look at inspirations on a real thrifted style restaurant. As for the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant was not welcoming at all. The waiters and manager made us feel like since we do not look like their normal clientele, they will not treat us like their clientele. I also feel as though, since we did not look the part the staff didn't treat us like all the others. But, ya know, try it out for yourself! **skip the steak, since it was pre cut to plate, they released all the juices and the steak came out very dry and steak was bland so can taste the cheap cut of meat. Whatever you do, skip the smoked meats and bbq. (I've had worse, but not by much.) I found it a bit pricey for the quality of the meal, but the service was above average. The old house vibe was somewhat awkward. There was no privacy or low lighting, so if you're looking for romantic ambiance, skip this place. I've been coming to Red House for years and I've never had a bad meal. I love the location, staff and vibes! On this most recent visit, I was with 6 people. We shared all of our otems. - the nachos with pork belly, really good for nachos. It was a large portion and the queso coved all of the chips. The pork belly was tender but also crispy on the outside - roasted beet salad. My favorite started. This was sweet glass that was balanced with the goat cheese and arugula - the steak had 3 sections over some mashed potatoes and root vegetables. The presentation made sharing easy. - muscles were in a white wine sauce and really good. The thick sourdough bread was a great addition Dessert was really where it was at! - crumble of the month was mango/ginger. By far the best! I was able to stop in and enjoy Red House' with my family recently and it was a wonderful experience. The customer service was fantastic and I learned a lot about the establishment from the owner, who is also an amazing painter! You can see some of his pieces in some of the dining rooms within the restaurant, which I absolutely loved. The food was excellent too, the crispy pork shank with rosemary cream and mushroom orzo was a standout for me. This is definitely a wonderful experience that you should check out in Renton. I meet friends here often. It's a great restaurant in a sweet little red house. Very creative. It has plenty of free, close by off street parking. They have a varied and creative menu with an excellent wine list. Service is attentive and I have never been disappointed by the food. Creative dishes beautifully presented. NW fusion at its best. Fresh, often locally harvested food, presented in dishes that reflect the influences of Asia, Latin America and Europe. The Red House is never snobby, it's a neighborhood bistro. The Red House has made some changes and I am here for it! The last time I ate here (over a year ago) I didn't think I would ever come back and then a friend suggested it and I reluctantly obliged. I don't know what changed between those two visits but the food is now amazing! When my friend and I were there we ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and they were all so tasty! I didn't write a review at the time and don't remember everything we ordered. I just remembered telling myself that that I had to come back for a date night with my hubs. Tonight we finally made it and again, The Red House did not disappoint. This time, I ordered the meatloaf with mashed taters and seasonal veggies, and the hubs got the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The meatloaf was yummy and served with a tasty gravy that was also ladled onto the mashed potatoes. The seasonal veggie medley consisted if zucchini, yellow squash, and asparagus. The serving was large enough for me to take half home for another meal! Hubby's chicken sandwich was breaded and fried perfectly and the french fries had a light and tasty seasoning on them. We absolutely adore this restaurant and all of the people who work there. It's such a fun vibe, and the food is truly delicious. The staff clearly get to know and appreciate their customers, and they work their tails off. The wine and cocktail programs are lovely, and complement the food selections quite well. Came here for dinner tonight with a friend and enjoyed a nice meal in their outdoor seating area. It was so cute - tables had red umbrellas and the patio was surrounded with leafy vines that provided ample amount of shade from the sun today. My friend and I ordered the classic Mac and cheese with wild salmon. It was VERY cheesy and I think it had 3 different type of cheeses in it. I'm probably going to regret it for a few days, but it sure was tasty. Portion size was very generous. We probably could've shared one order and it would've been plenty. For dessert we had the apple crisp that was homemade. It was topped with ice cream and was like crack cocaine. Where do I begin, ordered the charcuterie board with added cheese plate and it was the most sad unappealing yet expensive charcuterie "board" ever and I say board in quotations bc it wasn't on a board it was on a plate with the finest selection of processed meats sisco could send. Our absolute favorite restaurant! Kessler and his staff are truly one of a kind and the food is always delicious. Love that their menu changes seasonally, and my husband and I have yet to find something that we don't absolutely love!
