    Sweet girl.

Elizabeth took great care with us. Her expertise on her horses and horses in general was extensive. Before we even got on the horses she gave us tips and ideas for the horses that were selected for us. You can tell she has been around horses for a long time and loves her work and her animals. We went on a beautiful 2 hour ride and enjoyed every minute of it. She has done a great job building this business and sharing her knowledge with her volunteers and staff. I would visit again easily. Thanks Elizabeth!

My wife and I haven been horseback riding since we were teenagers. We couldn't have had a better time on a two hour trail through the woods. Elizabeth was a great guide and very friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back again and will recommend to all my family and friends.

One of our Olympic Peninsula highlights! We did a 1 hr trail ride and loved it! Elizabeth was super friendly and a great guide!

Elizabeth is an excellent trail leader. The horses were friendly and best part, they're all rescues. I will make sure to tell all of my friends and family who visit, to check out the trail rides.

Elizabeth took a ton of great pictures for us too!

Pacific Northwest Riding Academy - My sweet Dusty and wonderful instructor, Nola.

I have to give a huge shout out to instructor and horse (and people) handler, Nola Butler, who was as patient with me as a person could be. I was able to circumambulate the "arena" with said horse. But when I got on the trail, a few spatial disabilities of mine kicked in (no pun intended), so it was clear I just needed to end my ride. So I got off Dusty as fast as we could get back. (And in the transfer, Dusty managed to grab four huge bushes in one swift movement and put them in his mouth all at once! Impressive!!! That said, he was super gentle and elegantly hoovered an offered ginormous carrot from my hand with delicacy and speed.) So, all told, I maybe spent 30 minutes on the horse, but that was enough time to be truly impressed with this operation and with Nola, who was fabulous. Her assistance and instructions were very clear (and worked!) The set-up is caring about safety. As stated before, Nola is a Goddess of Patience (and good humor...) If I could manage to keep myself on a horse comfortably, I would be very happy with this outfit. I think it was really top notch.

While staying at Wildwood Farm B&B this past September, where PNRA is located, I took three lessons…read morefrom two of their trainers - Robin for dressage and Nola for western and trail. They have at least ten lesson horses used for western and english disciplines, though their dressage school master has apparently gone to the great pasture in the sky. They offer trail rides on 30 acres of woods plus the lanes surrounding their large and well-maintained grassy turnouts and two covered arenas. The horses are in excellent condition and their hooves well maintained, which is something I always look for. They rotate their lesson horses so they aren't overused and as a result they aren't sour as some lesson horses can become. The operation is very safety conscious. I plan on taking lessons again while staying at the B&B. I would recommend this business especially for kids and beginner riders, though anyone who is flexible about their riding will have a great time.

I was out for fun & beautiful country & so enjoyed the trail ride. I love love love equines…read more Equines can feel the heartbeat & intention of rider. I was calm my horse was calm. My only disappointment, I didn't hear or see a Sasquatch yet that's most likely a good thing. My horse & I probably would have Freaked Out. Sincerely a tourest

I couldn't in good faith give Horseshu a glowing review or recommend it to friends or family…read moredespite the fact that the owner was perfectly lovely to us and even extended a 5% discount on our beginner's forest ride. The resources and the good intentions are definitely there at Horseshu. That being said, I had a several expectations that were not met. I feel that a beginner's ride should include a quick 5-10 minute safety overview before riding, an explanation of what the ride will consist of (i.e. "We will ride around the arena for 5 minutes until you feel comfortable, then head out to the trail for one hour, then circle back to this arena."), some time getting to know the horses and being introduced to their names and personalities, time for photos in the woods, and a partially-narrated tour with information about local flora and fauna. None of these amenities expectations were met, much to my disappointment. Therefore, I feel that the ride was not a good value. Our guide was callous and resentful. He used curse words several times which for me was not a big deal, but if I had been visiting with my family (and/or children) it would have been distressing. It's possible I caught him on an off day. I had to ask for nearly everything including just getting the name of the horse I was riding.
