When I was looking for the 'best coffee in town' I found a Yelp review by a coffee aficionado from Seattle. He said that this was the place! And it truly is. My favorite is the Cortado! Their in house roasts are very fresh and exquisitely done. They have great lattes and mochas, and if you're a coffee aficionado like me, you'll love the pour overs. In the back area is a comfy section with a couch and chairs. The main area has tables and a coffee bar for the solo flyer. Food fare is mainly local pastries, scones and muffins. My go to is the chocolate croissant, which accompanies my daily Cortado. Warning, this combo is known to both enlighten and create a vortex of energy which is a great start to your day! There are many regulars, where 'everybody knows your name.' I do appreciate cafes that use only pesticide free beans, and I've inquired and found this to be true at Essence. He had simply moved the blockage six feet down the drain line and left it blocked. He very rudely refused to finish the job. Brothers Plumbing quickly found the blockage, cleared it to the drain stack, and tested that full kitchen sink and full washer drain freely. Brothers did a thorough job and charged less. If you do not wish to be ripped off, cursed at, and have to call a second plumber to finish a simple job, never call Northwest Drains,

This place had someone who answered the phone and soothed my weepy nerves, offering me a number of ideas for various places that might help, and saying they were happy to help if I wanted to get the creature to them out on Bainbridge. I made the trek, and they agreed to check him out and euthanize him if necessary. They charged me nothing. (I did offer a donation to cover their services, which they gratefully accepted.) The lovely folks at this shelter helped make a sad event manageable. I am so appreciative.

Right at 1000 (okay it was 1005) pulled up and opened his trailer and was in business. He works 10-2. He took my knives, told me how much it would be and when to pick them up. He texted me when they were done and I got them, he even oiled the blades and put some oil on the handles of the wood-handled knives. Great job, my knives look great. Just a great find!

Very convenient and nicely maintained "park" with an old railroad bridge over the river. The trail,…read morewhich is paved, is part of a larger walking and cycling trail that winds through this part of town. I put park in quote marks because it's really just those two things - a walking/cycling trail and a bridge. There isn't any large grassy areas, for instance. I wouldn't say that going down to the water was encouraged yet there were some folks down there. Lots of people with relatives, kids, dogs, lots of cyclists going both directions. It is a birding draw - although the birds were being coy on the day we were there. Importantly, it is right next to (meaning the bridge is right next to) the Dungeness River Nature Center, which is definitely worth checking out and won't slow you down if you are antsy to walk/jog/cycle - it's small but very nice (reviewed separately). As an FYI and this is not something you should be worried about necessarily but this area does have coyotes - more so at night.
