Hibulb is absolutely worth the time. I am a fan of tribal history and arts, worldwide. There is so much to learn from the past. I greatly appreciate the artistry, with emphasis on the stories and meanings behind each work. Native American arts, especially carvings, are so potent in their story telling. Hibulb did a fantastic job with their many signs, photos, sharing tales and appreciation of nature. I wish they have a museum book in the gift shop. Things not to miss: - Sit in the Longhouse room and watch the video. - Observe the military service of the Native Americans. - Look closely at the two welcome statues; see below the feet of Kaya. - Enjoy the old restored totem poles and the associated signs for their meanings. - Learn about using cedar trees in different ways (without cutting them down) and later see photos that they are passing on the knowledge to the new generations. - Find the touch and feel boards. I'm writing this review because when we saw this little roadside attraction online, it seemed like…read morean awesome stop that we were all excited about. However, when we arrived, it was nothing like I expected. People who are considering stopping here need to understand that this is a private residence and the "museum" is some stuff that this gentleman has in his driveway and garage. They need to think about how comfortable they will feel pulling up to a stranger's house and asking them to wander around in their garage. Turns out I did not feel comfortable with that at all. We checked lots of different review sites before stopping here and everything said it was dog friendly because it's mostly outside. As soon as we pulled up to the location the vibe immediately felt off.. I asked if everyone was sure they wanted to do this and no one else seemed to have an issue, so everyone tumbled out of the van and I grabbed our small dog. As you walk up the driveway there are cute decorations in the front yard and driveway area to look at but I was no more than 5 ft from the sidewalk when I heard a large dog barking behind the fence. Our presence really seemed agitate the dog so I stepped back a bit. Just after the dog began barking, the man who lives in the house came out and asked us if we wanted to check out the garage. I hesitated because I did not want to walk further up the driveway with my dog and he proceeded to make some tactless comments. It was incredibly awkward. My husband was already up the driveway at that point and headed into the garage behind him, but I decided this was not for me and I did not feel comfortable so I went back to the van to wait with my pup. When everyone returned to the vehicle just a few minutes later they said there was some cool stuff in the garage but that the guy was a little odd (which I was already aware of because of his previous behavior) and I guess you'd have to be to turn your house into a sasquatch shrine. As we were driving away, my husband told me he had given the guy $10 because he was commenting under his breath about people stopping but not making donations and in my personal opinion, the whole thing was a little cringe. There are lots of little, independent museums that have hours and charge a small entrance fee. That is perfectly fine, but the way this is set up and the boorish personality displayed by the "curator" made it an unenjoyable stop for me personally. I hope this review is helpful to anyone considering visiting, and I genuinely hope that anyone who does visit has a lot more fun and a more enjoyable experience that I did.

Every community should have a creative center like Make.Shift to support local arts and music. The…read morespace is non-profit, all -ages, drug-free, and Make.Shift offers practice space to bands passing through for a small fee. Make.Shift is also home to "The Magic Van" a resource for bands looking to tour the PNW who lack access to a band van. This weekend they hosted a local craft fair where there was a button trade, multiple floors of local crafts, and I even picked up some vinyl. Additionally down in the lower level I found an alternative lending library (with zines of course) and some indie publications for sale. There was even an artisan guitar maker who took a break from his craft to talk about what he does. The whole experience was straight up cool. I will make sure to stop back in the next time I am in Bellingham and drop a few bucks in the donation jar because creative spaces like this enrich communities and support the arts for us all.

After your initial screening, you can enter and present your tickets and check your coat if you choose at this classy establishment. Then you'll enter a giant cold empty space with a large bar with a very limited selection. This place has absolutely no beers on tap and the selection of bottled beers is terrible. They charge $9.00 for well drinks and they have one waitress who has no idea what she's doing. We'd been busy all day and hadn't had the opportunity to eat dinner so we decided to order food at the venue. The menu has about 7 items on it. I ordered a burger with fries and my wife got a hummus plate. When the food came to our table, there were no utensils, no napkins, no condiments. There wasn't even salt and pepper. I can't say anything nice about the food either. After the comedy show that was severely rushed was over, the entire audience had the option of either leaving or going to an upstairs loft area so that they could make room for their next event. This place is unfriendly, overpriced and generally unwelcoming to it's patrons.
