I am so glad this is my neighborhood library. It's the library Goldilocks would want - not too big,…read morenot too small. There is a good selection of materials for all ages, ample computer access, plus a dedicated space for children. The art deco design makes the library stand out and I hope it will never get renovated! This is a library for people who just wish to visit an actual library. Too many public libraries want to embrace fads and trends that distract from the fundamental mission (i.e. supporting access to ideas and entertainment). It is so refreshing to visit a library that emphasizes the basics.

I really loved going to this library every week as it was a good place to be and hangout with my…read morefriends, but recently i was with a group of my friends around the recetangular table in the middle, then a random guy comes out of nowhere yelling gibberish about how my friends and I where on the second floor disturbing him (me and my friends on this day were not at all on the second floor) and while saying these things, he came next to me and he clenched his fist ready to punch me. I was really scared for my life (being a high-school teenager) but the security guard, the staff and the people around us did nothing, and I and my friends were frozen in fear, the guy randomly left, so we thought he came to his senses or he realized that we were never in the second floor, so we continued on our own business. Then suddenly 10 or minutes after that, the guy shoved me hard and I knocked down one of my friends that was sitting next to me, so the rest of my friends left calmly, to call security or ask for help, and the guy that shoved me kept talking more gibberish about us in the second floor bothering him, so the person next to me was desperately trying to explain we were never in the second floor today, (keep mind that nobody including the security guards did anything, I don't think they even cared) then the guy randomly called his dog on the second floor in the library (and keep in mind that pets are strictly not allowed in the library and I was so scared the dog was going to maul me) and then the guy was yelling for the security to come (which up on to this point was literally doing nothing) and he told the security guard that we were on the second floor bothering him (the security guard knew we never were on the second floor) the security guard then said to me and the guy that we will be kicked out if we don't stop bothering each other, the guy then left to the second floor(and I was thinking thats it? You're not going to do anything about himself assaulting me?) And I was so shocked that the people around me, the security guard and the staff did nothing about this. (Also keep in mind that one time me and my friend was throwing around a light ball in the library and we were threatened to be kicked out of the library and we had to really apologize to be not kicked out) so if I throw around a ball I get kicked out of the library but if a random guy assaults me he gets of scott free. (I don't feel safe anymore in this library especially when the staff didn't care a vulnerable high-school kid was being assaulted infront of them)

Huge plus for the air purifiers around too. I usually come in the morning on weekdays and it's never very busy. My favorite area is the couch chairs in the back which has nice lighting and is a peaceful place to read. It's also next to a large meeting room which I've never seen used but it's very spacious, equipped with tables, chairs, and whiteboards.

I would say, however, that at peak tourist season in August parking can be tight. There are numerous eating options. There are art galleries, artisan souvenir shops, a bakery, chocolatier, a book store, and several apparel stores. Of course there are bars and wineries. The big surprise is that this is a "Norwegian" town with flags up and down the main streets. Who knew? As you turn into the town there is a large viking statue that says "welcome" in Norwegian. There are lots of Norwegian-themed stores and restaurants. Since I've been to Norway four times, I have watched a lot Viking shows on the History channel. I have never seen any description of Vikings in the Pacific Northwest. No one in town seems to know how or why the Vikings arrived. So that a mystery to me. Overall, Poulsbo is both livable and an attractive place to spend a day as a tourist. People are friendly and happy. I understand why.

Parking was packed on my visit to Lynnwood Library this afternoon, Wednesday 2 July 2025. The…read morelibrary abutted the recreational center though there was library-specific parking on the side of the library opposite the recreational center. Tall trees between the parking strips provided shade for the parked vehicles. The entry/exit way of the building was straightforward to navigate and sections in the library were well marked. I was particularly impressed with the non-fiction offerings in the movies section. They were organized by subject with names on movie jacket bindings easy to read. Approximate run times for the titles I checked were not covered by library barcodes. As run time did factor in in to my selection today, I appreciated the run times were not covered. Check-out went smoothly.
