Curbside pickup area under the tall part of the building at the normal entrance in the morning on 29 July 2020.

The Shoreline Library is a great public library in the King County Library System to come and search the shelves for a next read or two or find good reference books for a school project. There are abundant tables and work stations, which make research and project work easy. There are also little stools available in the aisles to help in reaching books on the higher shelves. The ground makes a comfortable place to sit when I don't want to go to work at a station. When I have come here in the past, the in-library reference books, and audio book selection has been wide. A number of computer work stations are available for use as well as both self check-out and in-person check-out options. The parking lot is large and there are nearby bus (metro/transit) stops making the library easily accessible by public transportation. One of the bus stops is even covered which is nice if braving the natural elements while waiting for the bus and you don't want to get your library books wet. Most recently I came to the Shoreline Library today Friday the 16th of October 2020 to turn in my filled out and signed voter ballot to the ballot drop box. Currently there is construction going on and part of the parking lot is closed off, so I had to enter the parking lot from the back side of the library. Due to COVID-19 the Shoreline Library had reduced services on site that included curbside pick-up and an open book/item return. These are now both temporarily closed due to the construction. A fence was left open making access to the voting ballot drop box seamless. Just dropped my ballot in and I was good to go! Felt safe turning in my ballot here.

For a county branch library, this location has everything you could possibly want. I only visit to pick up my materials (dvds, cds, and lots of books) that I place on hold online on a weekly basis, but I always see community activities happening in the side rooms. I don't stick around much on my visits, but I appreciate what I have here. The librarians are always helpful and friendly. Lots of desks and tables everywhere, as well as reservable computer stations. If you happen to look up, the lighting is beautiful, especially from the outside. In another few weeks, all the surrounding cherry blossoms will make it one of the most beautiful library grounds. There always seems to be enough parking for everyone. I've never had to park on the surrounding neighborhood streets.

Great pit stop if you ever need a pit stop to work, photocopy & washroom break off Exit #176, without the hassle & noise of a coffee shop. Free parking. Albeit, just black & white copies for 10 cents, that's a deal (if no Staples nearby). Super spacious, clean washrooms. Nice kid section off to the left, with sofas, and lowered seating.

    Love this sign.

I love all library's and I'm a little biased since I'm born and raised in Shoreline. I love that this location is keeping up with the times and have updated things over the years. They have self check out and self check in of library materials. I like that you can do this on your own to save time and it gives you a receipt even. This location is bigger so there are always several staff members around to help answer a question. There is a big hold section divided between DVDs and books... Also, they have a big children's library and other sections of the library. Being a teacher, I alway come to this location because they have a good selection of Young Adult literature and kids books :) Another plus is that it's quiet and a great place to study. There are several computers you can use and even a copy machine if you're doing research. I even come here on the warmer days of summer it's a nice place to enjoy the AC and to read a book.

I've been a patron of this library for 19 years and I love how it keeps growing and improving for the community. I don't really come to hang out and peruse the shelves like I did in my high school years, but I do request purchases and pick up my holds from this specific location. The staff must think me crazy to keep asking them to buy books for me. But I figure, they got me hooked on the series in the first place... It has a wide range of books, knowledgeable staff, computers, copiers (that have been replaced by copier/scanner/possible faxing machines), easy to navigate website, organized holds bookcases, and a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. For people who don't have ready access to printers, patrons are allowed 75 black and white printed pages a week (color costs more "units"). They even have self-checkout and self-check in. The self-check in is more than a chute to toss your books in; its a machine that scans the barcode so that it actually checks the book back in. Parking is better since they expanded it a few years ago. There are even 5-min dropoff/pickup spots, that probably get terribly abused. Or accidentally abused by people who venture beyond the outdoor return machines and get sucked into the wonders of a library. This location offers tutoring, ESL practice, children's programming, and even free counseling sessions by licensed professionals. They also have generous weekday hours (open til 8 PM!) but their weekends end around 5 or 6 PM.

    Knitted tree at the library!

While I don't live in Shoreline, I live close enough that I've checked out their library. For starters, they are open later than my local Seattle branch and has a parking lot twice the size. They do holds the same way as SPL does, basically you request a book and once it arrives at the closest branch to you, you are notified once they arrive. Access to plentiful computer terminals and friendly staff, I highly recommend using this public resource. I want to mention again the staff at this branch. They really seem to go above and beyond what's needed to give good customer service. One guy offered to help an older gentleman out to his car when he was struggling to balance his bag of newly checked out books with his other belongings.

Yes Virginia, there're still libraries in this town and librarians have not become an extinct species. The question is..."Do people still read books with all the information that's on the internet?" And the answer is behind book #1! Brightly lit and colorfully painted interior filled with stacks of books, videos, magazines and those ever-so-helpful librarian-types, the Shoreline Library has been a refuge for me during my study-till-I-drop days. Lately, it seems to have become a community center with classes and activities to appeal to the younger crowd. Go. Read. Dream.

Looks like reserves can be picked up outside like those Amazon locked box stations, as well as, inside on designated shelves. Still the community hub with posted info and other free media to peruse. There's available onsite meeting & conference rooms, seating, and computer area. All the media neatly arranged per the Dewey decimal system and some displayed for current interests or themes. Books and other media can be located via interlibrary loan too. Abundant other resources are available via the SPL main websites. A wealth of information to be had! It was stereotypically quiet while I searched for a particular book I knew ahead of time was available. Didn't want to disturb the library staff, so I used one of the self checkout kiosks. Thankfully, my Seattle Public Library card since the early 1980s and my ancient password still worked! This location is much closer to home versus the two King County library branches in Shoreline.

I was like, oh no... where am I supposed to park. Continuing forwards in my vehicle I noticed a slanted drive down under the library building on the left. Then I noticed a sign with an arrow indicating parking. So, I followed the drive in and parked in the garage under the building. An elevator was available to take one up to/down from the library entryway. I took it on the way up, and during my one floor elevator ride remembered I did not like elevators, so I might walk around like I drove into the garage when I went back to my car. Getting off the elevator in the entryway with doors on each side of me, one to the street and one into the library, I entered the library through the door(s) going that way. The interior of the library initially felt small and a librarian was at their station by the entry/exit. Other librarian(s) were about in the library around the shelves. A number of people were sitting on chairs/couches in the library reading books. The chairs/couches were well placed throughout the library as were tables. Each section, such as teen, non-fiction, magazines, etc., was well labeled. Study rooms were open/available for use if wanting a quiet place to close the door and work on something. I was specifically looking for something in the tune of business. The different non-fiction categories were diverse in offerings. I ended up going with a book about putting ideas into action. Different libraries in the King County Library System tend to have different business offerings, and I found the marketing/thought process focus at this library refreshing. Self check out stations were located near the entrance/exit by the librarians' stations. The librarians I interacted with were warm in demeanor. On my way out, I opted to walk back to my car instead of taking the elevator. I found there was even a sidewalk down to the garage. All around I enjoyed my experience.

Small footprint, but close to USPS and City Hall. Parking is not plentiful and it seems as tho the 5 minute "book drop off" spaces are always full. Kenmore is more of a satellite location, than a full size public library. I reluctantly used this library for a while when the Bothell Library was being remodeled. Staff has always been nice in Kenmore, but it lacks the size and amenities of Bothell. It was easy to place books on hold online to pick up and check out at the self-service kiosks. I have looked through the shelves at my local libraries in the King County Library System a number of times, so coming here I was interested to see if I could find something different. As I do not have a Sno-Isle library card I could not check anything out, however I could look and sit and read in library. I utilized street parking for my visit, though there is a parking lot shared with the Anderson Center to the east of the main entrance. Shelving in the library was short stacks with items low/close to the ground. Books were broken into youth and adult sections. There were computer work stations as well as a larger classroom-like work space and a few small study rooms. In the movies section I spotted a 2019 PBS documentary on weasels, a good one as my family and I had a family of long tailed weasels (mustela frenata) in the vicinity of our house a few times over the past years, they are a native species in the area. Perhaps most varied from the libraries I frequent in terms of what I looked over today was the biography section (adult books section). Limiting myself to one that captured my attention, I selected a 2017 book "Being Elvis: A Lonely Life" by Ray Connolly. I had not seen that one before on the shelves in my library system. I put both the movie and book on hold. Exploring the in library sitting/reading options, I found a big comfy/soft chair with a movable table by a recycling area. It was nice that the table beside the table was small and could be moved to make using it more comfortable. Lighting throughout the library was a bit variable, might have been in part due to the tall ceilings.
