Another 5-star rating for Carolyn Wilcox, she is an amazing guide! She accompanied my husband, his sister visiting from Australia, me (all in our seventies/eighties), and our two 14-year-old Chihuahuas in our car for a full-day tour of spectacular locations in and around the Olympic National Park on May 16, 2024. She was part of our family by the end of the day! We appreciated her knowledge and experience leading tours in the area. She genuinely cares about the environment and wildlife, and we learned a lot. Next time we'll pay closer attention to her instructions to wear multiple layers of warm clothing as it was much chillier than we expected. Thank you Carolyn for a spectacular day that we will never forget. You're the best!

Carolyn Wilcox provided an amazingly successful and enjoyable four-day tour of the northern Olympic Peninsula for bird watching and scenic photography. She is a great birding guide both by eye and ear. Her Svarovski spotting scope was really helpful to ID the seabirds especially. We visited 20 sites from La Push to Port Townsend. She is well versed in all things natural and is a pleasure to be around. I recommend her highly!

At an elevation of 5,242 feet, Hurricane Ridge is one of the two most visited areas in Olympic National Park. The Hoh Rainforest is the other one. Activities include hiking, skiing and snowboarding. Some people come up here just for the views. The main visitor center for the park is located at the beginning of the drive on Hurricane Ridge Road in Port Angeles. Hurricane Ridge is the most easily accessed mountain area within Olympic National Park. I drove up here to hike the popular 3.4-mile out-and-back Hurricane Hill Trail. There are other trails in this area including a couple of easy nature trails. The Hurricane Ridge Day Lodge and Visitor Center was sadly destroyed by fire in 2023. The park put a temporary structure in its place with a ranger on site to answer questions. There are shuttles that will take you up here from Port Angeles if you don't want to do the drive. The view of the surrounding mountain range from Hurricane Ridge is amazing. You might see wildlife like Mule Deer wandering around. The entrance stations into Olympic National Park are on Hurricane Ridge Road right after you pass by the Olympic National Park Visitor Center. Sometimes there can be a line of cars at these stations.

Best suited to tent camping as a majority of the sites have shorter paved drives that are quite uneven. Would definitely be hard for longer rigs. First come only, and to get your site you must either log into the system (with limited cell service) or write your entire credit card info onto the form and leave it to be processed...no cash. Not so much a fan of that notion. We took the Heart o the Forest trail available from the top loop, although we didn't take it to the end. An out & back, narrow, with lovely trees. Overall a nice forested campground, with loads of sites of varied shapes and sizes and levels of privacy.

We arrived late on a weekday night after working a full day on the Eastside. This campground is first come first serve so we couldn't really plan ahead and had to hope there would still be something available. Even though we arrived only a few hours before dark we were able to find a really nice campsite nestled in the woods. There are several loops with nice sized camp sites for both tent and Rv camping. We found a lovely private site that was clean and free of litter and well maintained of debris. Each site is surrounded by gorgeous trees for privacy, mossy rocks, and peaceful forest views. After getting set up we enjoyed a restful and quiet night. The bathrooms were well maintained and there was also water for cleaning our dishes. Each loop seemed to have its own bathroom and garbage sites which was super convenient. We saw several deer, birds, and other little critters on our brief night's stay and look forward to coming back to visit them soon.

They are all arbitrary depending on the mood and the weather of the people who work there, including James (the man in charge). If you are a couple please note that you may be put into a plane with other people regardless of what plane and option you picked. You will not know about it until you get to the meeting point and one couple will not get to sit together. Thus, it may be better to look into other companies and there are others! If you are planning to go as a group, there are better and more professional establishments which are cheaper and/or same priced. The only saving point of this establishment is Mark (seaplane pilot) who made all the efforts to not only ensure that our experience on the air was great but also to redeem the Company. Overall, in the state where aviation is one of the major industries, there are better, more professional, and cost efficient companies and small businesses. Try them. They will have more respect and consideration for your experience. If you insist on booking from this establishment, exaggerate your weight to make sure that they cannot fly anyone with you.
