We started inside on Sheena the Wonder Horse. I have to say, the state-of-the-art simulator really helps to get comfortable in a number of ways. After that, it was on to the arena & Valentine, a real horse Rusty Bar Ranch owner and trainer, Kathy really knows horses & also cares about them. She was such a kind & patient teacher. I felt totally comfortable & at ease. She teaches at every level, depending on the student. We started off with the 90 min ride in a group and plan on scheduling the 2 hour private ride for later this summer. Elizabeth was very friendly. I really appreciated how we got there, quickly signed up, got equipment and we were off after a introduction. She rode ahead and was always there to answer any questions but my daughter and I were close enough to comfortably talk the entire time. I highly recommend this place, it was both mine and my daughters favorite.

We have both received nothing but love and friendship from the management and other boarders there. The indoor arenas are a little small but I have yet to see traffic in them. The outdoor arena is good sized. I'm so happy to have my TB I'm such a great place.

I have been boarding my horse with Black Forest stables for the last year and couldn't be happier…read more So happy to finally find a perfect fit for my gelding. Nancy and Vic are great and take great care of all the horses. They treat their boarders as if they were their own horses. The facilities are well maintained and remarkably mud free, even last winter during the rainiest year on record! I really appreciate that they put horses out in groups - slowly at first to acclimate a new horse- but eventually working up to herd because the horses are so much happier that way. They have a nice covered arena as well as round pen and best of all- miles of trails right out the back pasture! Horses have access to covered areas no matter what field they are in and of course free access to water and great grass in the spring and summer. They feed high quality hay as well. They are always quick to let me know if my horse needs anything and always responsive if I need something from them. Rates are fair and reasonable and overall a great barn.
