Seattle Farm is a privately owned 20-acre property, and I'm pretty sure it's the only farm within city limits. The place is beautifully maintained and feels like a hidden gem. No cows or chickens, but there are plenty of horses. We came during pumpkin season and paid $25, which covered both parking and admission. Big parking lot, easy access. At the barn you'll find several horses, and feeding them hay was a hit for both kids and adults. The darker horse was especially affectionate - kept rubbing its head against us, super sweet. You can also pay extra for horse/pony rides; they are all calm, well-trained, and come in various sizes. There's a food area with picnic tables where you can grab hotdogs and drinks. The pumpkin selection isn't as large as farms farther out, but still enough. It's great to see a place like this still operating in the city, and it's definitely worth supporting to help keep it going. I think they also host private events like birthday parties and weddings, and offer dedicated horseback-riding lessons - you'll need to call for details. Awesome family-friendly spot. We'll definitely be back next year!

We have both received nothing but love and friendship from the management and other boarders there. The indoor arenas are a little small but I have yet to see traffic in them. I have boarded at Shamba for almost 2 years, it's a smaller group of boarders (usually about 6-8)…read moreand is a full care facility. The owners live onsite and the horses are so well cared for. Grass hay, twice a day, is provided with board. You may provide your own grain/supplements if you wish. Each horse has an open front stall, leading to a gravel paddock. During the day (after breakfast) the gates are open to fields. The horses are out until around dusk then back into paddocks for the night. Paddocks and stalls are cleaned daily. This is a family run business, with a number of people who have been here 10+ years. It's just a great community, and the property owners are so kind. There's a huge sand arena and nice big round pen, a locked tack room and just a really nice setup. For non horse folks: this isn't a horse rental or horse training business, and it isn't a drop in place to pet/visit horses. Just sharing as some people don't understand that many private boarding facilities don't offer those services. It does have a fenced Sniff Spot for dog owners who want to utilize that- reserve that on the Sniff Spot app.

Nancy and Vic are great and take great care of all the horses. They treat their boarders as if they were their own horses. The facilities are well maintained and remarkably mud free, even last winter during the rainiest year on record! I really appreciate that they put horses out in groups - slowly at first to acclimate a new horse- but eventually working up to herd because the horses are so much happier that way. They have a nice covered arena as well as round pen and best of all- miles of trails right out the back pasture! Horses have access to covered areas no matter what field they are in and of course free access to water and great grass in the spring and summer. They feed high quality hay as well. They are always quick to let me know if my horse needs anything and always responsive if I need something from them. Rates are fair and reasonable and overall a great barn.
