He said the rigging wire was showing signs of age, which was over 20 years of age, and he recommended it be replaced if we planned to go offshore. I scheduled the rigging wire replacement with Port Townsend Rigging for early March 2025. They performed the work while the boat was in the water at their dock in Boat Haven. Justin and his team completed the work in a couple of weeks. I am delighted with their work. The work was thorough and professional. Tensioning the whisker stays of the bowsprit is a challenge because of the close fitting gammon iron. It's easy to damage the bowsprit paint if not tensioned correctly. Justin's careful attention to detail paid off because he insured the whisker stays were tensioned evenly so as to keep the bowsprit centered while tensioning. It was also easy to work with Sarah on obtaining an estimate, scheduling and final invoicing. The invoice was higher than the estimate partly because I had requested the running back stays and topping lift rope rigging be replaced, which were not on the estimate. Sarah helped me understand the other additional costs that were not included the estimate, which involved replacing the whisker stays and bob stay wire. The estimate and final invoice were close if the additional costs were not factored in. I have worked with Port Townsend Rigging since we launched our cutter 20 years ago when they installed the mast and the original rig. I have used them ever since, and I have always be happy with the services they provide. I highly recommend them.

Over $65 for a guest slip which was difficult to reserve at the kiosk due to a terrible system combining a parking kiosk, a paper list of available slips, and no obvious way to pay for power which is course cost extra. To add to this less than stellar experience, they have a porta potty that, as they generally are, was absolutely disgusting and not well maintained at all. Took forever to find the slip. Nothing is well labeled, no obvious map at the fuel pump, and the least intuitive numbering schema I've ever witnessed. Two other boaters I kept passing were just as lost having to make unnecessary maneuvers while searching for their assigned slip. Epic fail. I wouldn't dock my boat there again if it were sinking and that was the only way to save it.

We just got back from an overnight trip with Olympic Coast Sailing. It was an amazing experience!…read more We sailed on the Ingrid Princess with Captain Tracy Hollister from Sequim Bay (John Wayne Marina) to Lopez Island (Fisherman Bay Marina) in the San Juan Islands. Captain Tracy is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced sailor. He is also very familiar with maritime history and the local wildlife. As he entertained us with stories of his sailing adventures in the South Pacific, and his solo, 49-day trip from Japan to Oregon, my fear of being out in the open water dissipated and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. My husband--an experienced sailor--loved every minute of it, particularly because Captain Tracy let him take the helm. Captain Tracy worked with us to plan our trip. When he learned we wanted to bring our bikes, he suggested Lopez Island because it is bike friendly and fairly flat. He secured our bikes to the side rail and then carefully covered them with bike bags to protect them from the salt water. When we arrived at Fisherman Bay, we attached our panniers and biked .75 miles to Edenwild Boutique Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the island on our bikes! Being on Lopez Island feels like taking a step back in time--everyone smiles and waves. It's a magical place. Our trip was satisfying on so many levels and we definitely intend to sail with Captain Tracy again. We highly recommend this crossing for anyone who enjoys being outdoors.

I was in Sequim Washington visiting my aunt well also training for a 10K for suicide prevention and…read moredepression awareness. Being the explore that I am, I used a combination of -yelp and Google to find parks near me. I was excited to find that there was a park 3 miles from my aunts house. I asked to borrow her car and away I went. When I arrived, I found a small parking lot. I noticed cut outs in the woods that resembles trailheads, but not many markings. I happened upon a trail head board, where I was able to pull a trifold brochure with map out of the case. From what I can tell, this series of foot, bicycle, and horse paths is maintained by volunteers. The trails are easy to spot, but not all have signage Or names. I noticed That's some of the posts had numbers, but that really means nothing unless you have a copy of the map. At some junctions, you are left to wonder where the path will lead and whom it is intended for. Summer designated foot only, summer horses only, and some are shared use. I used my Fitbit to track my GPS, so I can upload a map with my review, but I very much felt like Hansel wandering the dark forest. There are many beautiful trees, some great signage and points of interest for foliage in centuries. the brush is trimmed fairly well and it's pretty easy to find yourself alone on a path. During my run, I encountered walkers, the folks on horse back, mountain bikers, and even Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, Complete with ornaments. As I stopped to take a photo, I could hear something breathing nearby. It certainly was not a human. It sounded like a horse, but as I stood still, I heard no other movement and could see no horses, so I'm not 100% sure what the creature was. I read another review that said someone happened upon a coyote. Little red riding hood happened upon a wolf, but being Hantzel, I'm not so sure who was stocking me.Oh, and I found the witch's table in a clearing on a path, which let me know that I was indeed in the dark forest. The hours to the small park are 8 AM to dusk. There is no running water but there is one single Porta potty at the main trail head. They also provide doggy bags and a 5 gallon bucket that serves as the trashcan for the doggie Doodoo. The Porta potty was pretty well-maintained, the log shows that it's cleaned every 1 to 2 weeks. Being Covid, I was disappointed that the hand sanitizer was empty. All in all it was a pretty good run/walk in the woods. Be prepared for hills. There are many. My weaving loop in the woods was just under 3 miles, but I'm certain there's more to discover. I didn't travel all of the trails, in fact when I returned to the parking lot I discovered another path that had been blocked by a horse trailer when I arrived. four stars for the confusing intersections and lack of signage on many of the paths. Would I run this trail again? Yes. would I recommend this trail for someone to explore alone? Yes, if you are good at directions, not in a hurry, have your phone and GPS handy, just in case, and or if you bring plenty of breadcrumbs to drop along the way like Hantzel and Gretel.
