Well, I have to say that I was scared to get on a horse. I was given the most gentle guy they…read morehad--the very sweet Dusty. I have to give a huge shout out to instructor and horse (and people) handler, Nola Butler, who was as patient with me as a person could be. I was able to circumambulate the "arena" with said horse. But when I got on the trail, a few spatial disabilities of mine kicked in (no pun intended), so it was clear I just needed to end my ride. So I got off Dusty as fast as we could get back. (And in the transfer, Dusty managed to grab four huge bushes in one swift movement and put them in his mouth all at once! Impressive!!! That said, he was super gentle and elegantly hoovered an offered ginormous carrot from my hand with delicacy and speed.) So, all told, I maybe spent 30 minutes on the horse, but that was enough time to be truly impressed with this operation and with Nola, who was fabulous. Her assistance and instructions were very clear (and worked!) The set-up is caring about safety. As stated before, Nola is a Goddess of Patience (and good humor...) If I could manage to keep myself on a horse comfortably, I would be very happy with this outfit. I think it was really top notch.

They have at least ten lesson horses used for western and english disciplines, though their dressage school master has apparently gone to the great pasture in the sky. They offer trail rides on 30 acres of woods plus the lanes surrounding their large and well-maintained grassy turnouts and two covered arenas. The horses are in excellent condition and their hooves well maintained, which is something I always look for. They rotate their lesson horses so they aren't overused and as a result they aren't sour as some lesson horses can become. The operation is very safety conscious. I plan on taking lessons again while staying at the B&B. I would recommend this business especially for kids and beginner riders, though anyone who is flexible about their riding will have a great time.

I wanted to go horseback riding for my birthday. I found Stillwater Ranch by searching for trail…read morerides. I am so happy I did. This place was EXACTLY what I was looking for. The owners, Barbara and Dalton were so nice and down to earth, They are true animal lovers just like we are. They have over 20 horse, 3 dogs, 2 mules and they offer it all. This isn't your 1 hour trail ride up a dirt road and back. This ride is 3 to 4 hours long, through trees, down what looks like animal trails in the woods, you criss cross through the woods and clear cuts in the Skykomish River Valley then you head up mountain to this amazing lookout and have lunch. I rode a wonderful gelding named Bernie. Bernie's a Missouri Fox Trotter and he was super sweet. Chris rode Comet, she's a Tennessee Walker. Chris said she floated. You can see for miles up on "the rock". When you look down into the valley and see just how far you have ridden, you are amazed. Dalton said it is probably 5 miles. The lunch is amazing, it's from the Sultan Bakery and it is one of the best lunches I've had. Sitting up on the rock just me, Chris, and Dalton was so relaxing. We became instant friends. Stillwater Ranch offers a variety of rides that include river rafting, fishing, moonlight rides, overnight camping and much, much more. You can ride in all seasons - We are looking forward to a winter ride when the valley is covered in snow. They are even starting a wine dinner ride - woo hoo. The next time we need an equestrian fix, we will look to Stillwater Ranch to supply it.

I loved that we got on the horses right away. Once on horses that were somewhat aligned with our experience levels and nervousness (I wasn't nervous and got a sassier horse haha), they gave us a brief intro to how to control the horse. Then we were off pretty quickly! The guides spread out throughout our trail group and kept an eye on us. We stayed as a group and they checked in when needed. The views were incredible- we rode right along the river and it was so beautiful. After the ride, we got to feed and brush our horses, and even got to meet some cows and baby horses! It is so lovely to see how happy all the animals are here and how well taken care of they are. Such a special experience!

He asked a lot of thoughtful questions and made the whole experience feel really personal. I rode a horse named Ditto, and my boyfriend rode Ranger. Both were so well-trained and gentle. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing, memorable horseback riding experience. Thanks again, Peter and Skyland Ranch!

I have to stress that the house is just gorgeous, and we have free access to all but private quarters. The setting is so peaceful, and it is lovely watching the horses. We had the Capt Don Suite, which was so nice. Two beds so we could get into a fight and sleep apart if we wanted to. (We didn't.) The suite is tricked out with all things pony. Very comfortable. We liked the place so much we have advanced reserved the Gallant Best suite for an upcoming stay, complete with ample living space, a crystal fireplace and hot tub all to our own on a little outside patio. Gregg is an amazing host and cook to boot! His breakfasts are generous and amazingly delicious--and on our three-day stay, nothing cooked for us was the same, so it was a joy to eat there. Plus Gregg is so fun to talk to. We enjoyed our breakfast time with him so much. I am not into B&Bs so much as I always feel like I am imposing on our hosts. Not so here. It was just comfortable, warm, welcoming and wonderful. There--a bunch of W-wonderfulness and wonders.

I am 14 years now and I couldn't even think of going anywhere else. Kathy Is a wonderful woman who knows what she's doing. Yes maybe at times she might get on you for not doing anything. She is not the big bad wolf everyone talks about. Her horses are well token care of and I enjoy every time I have came to her barn. I would 100% bord your horse here or lease and even do lessons. Kathy understands horses more than anyone else I have seen. Please do NOT listen to any crap others say about her. And keep in mind This is coming from a 14 year old...Lots of adults are immure and leave a nasty review on Ms. Kathy without really understanding who she is. Thanks for reading.

They should go back to ledger sheets since they like to be rude and accuse unjustly. Also. Make sure if you rent a stall; your horse should see it and abide in it for at least a part of the day. They say stall with turnout. Well it's 24/7 turnout no stall. Things changed drastically after my daughter left for college When a customer who pays on time, daughter takes and pays for lessons asks to please put her horse in every night and turn out after feeding in the morning is reasonable but it will never happen. The paddock is better for the horse the owner will tell you not for the customer. In all my years I have never come across a person who what I consider a ruthless business woman. Never caring for her customers needs. Usually when a customer makes a request the owners answer should be yes we shall accommodate your wishes not just shrug them off. The satisfaction that was there when they wanted us to join the barn to how it ended is a damn shame. I give them to the Almighty and wish them well.I am also begging all of you to please visit your horse at different hours to really see what is going on. I was told the owner wanted a thirty day notice paid if leaving so on 8/31/23 I did so. On 7/7:23 I paid for august and September and when my request for being stalled at night failed I said okay we are moving out. 8/31/23 I told the owner I was leaving because my request was rejected and then world war three started. Last night I had to prove I paid I did but the owner insists September wasn't paid. Called the police on what refuge I have told to go to civil court for the monthly paid which I can prove and then Animal Control to get my Morgan horse back. No owner should go through this. I am asking the Almighty to intercede. I am going to the bank for print outs on the payments. Stopping in to the courts to place a civil suit on the husband of the owner whom I paid for reimbursement and then Animal Control to be aware I want my horse back. From being a barn I thought was super great this owners performance has made me so skeptical of the way there is another the owners are allowed to act. My experience of liking them went to zero on how their verbal actions when I said I was leaving I guess you can say I'm in shock on the way they flipped. I have no more to say other than I need your prayers to get my daughters horse back unharmed. Need prayers and advice
